Question about a buyer

I have an item, and i put in thre international shipping and insurance is extra, asks me for a invoice and I let her know what shipping is and if she wants insurance it is going to be an extra like 20 bucks ( this is straight from the USPS site and what does she do? she sends payment for the item + shipping and puts in the 130 for US insurance in the spotwher eyou can change the invoice ( the +/- spot)

And sends a note, I sent the 1.30 for insurance i will let you know when it arrives.

What would you do? I emailed her explaining what it costs to ship and insure and if she wants insurance she will have to pay for it, if not i will not insure the package. now why would you change the shipping and insurance after asking for it?

of course this person happens to be in australia which is one of the HIGHEST priced place to ship and insure to from the US.

I am really upset ^!^

Jas - see what her reply is, but you sure aren't obligated to send it insured if she refuses to pay for it! Maybe she changed it by accident?

nah she did it on purpose, said she addded the 1.30 ( in the +/- section) and left the insurance part plank, after 2 emails :|

i just dont get why they ask and dont listen anyway,

and shipping to you guys is insane! move closer!

You might also want to refund the $1.30 through PayPal -- she won't be able to ignore that.

In your auction, did you say insurance was mandatory? If so, just reject the payment and send her an email saying why. If not, send her a polite email informing her of the cost of insurance with a link to the USPS website price list and letting her know that unless she pays the full $20, you will send it uninsured. Its her problem, not yours. And if she then complains, make sure you have copies of these emails to provide to ebay just incase.

I sent her the usps site, and the box size details and link to plug it in, I duno how to reject a payment in paypal but it went through and I also dont know how to refund the 1.30 or I would. It is shipping today without insurance as she hasnt contacted me.

Giving a refund through PayPal is easy, but you can do it for only 60 days after the transaction.  Go to the activity page and locate the payment from the buyer.  Click on "details" and you'll get a summary page with the details of the transaction.  At the bottom of the page is a section about refunds, with a link to provide a refund on the transaction.  You can refund part or all of the money.  Your PayPal fees will be adjusted automatically.

I had to do this once because eBay miscalculated the shipping fee for an international buyer.
