Ask the seller (Ollie) where she got the picture from. Maybe she stole the picture from your auction. If she says she took it herself, well, it is definitely the same picture. Something is very off here.

I think it woulds more than a little suspicious.. I'll definitely apologise if I have made a mistake - but I shall wait until I hear from Ebay before doing anything. The reason why I did not ask if it was the same was because she would obviously not say yes if she knew it was me - that would be like signing your guilty confession, right? Could I please ask someone here to email and ask Ollie for me? It would be much appreciated  |

Just if its the exact card up for auction - don't say anything about me. Thanks so much for your help Its not that I have lost much money over this, but I want to make sure if this person is the same as before, that they don't get away with fraud. Cindy - about the copying auctions idea - you may be right, but keep in mind this auction finished over 2 months ago, its not a recent one that could easily be dug up - I had to do it via my Paypal complaint ID. Also, the description eg. of a 'quick and reluctant sale' is too similar for my liking. Its not the best auction to use - if I was lazy and wanted to rip off a scan/auction, I'd take something like MPC or elvensongster's pics/auctions! |

I agree. There are too many similarities for it not to be the same person.
What I find really strange is that the username from your auction doesn't have any recent negatives that would indicate a problem with auctions around the time the person was unregistered. If someone were trying to commit fraud, it wouldn't be worth it to do it for one auction. Unless there were several buyers like you who weren't able to leave feedback until it was too late.

There was nothing she had for auction at the time that was particularly worth much - even I did not think 51 quid was much to rip off, but I guess she thought it was worth it! If I wanted to sign out with a bang, I'd list a FOTR Merry/Legolas or a triple auto (maybe all 3!  ) |

Okay, here is what i wrote:
Hi. I was just wondering if the card pictured is the exact one that is up for auction? I know sometimes people take pictures from other auctions, but I wanted to make sure, prior to bidding, that the one up for auction is the exact one pictured. I am very picky about my cards, so I like to see exactly what I am bidding on prior to doing so. If it isn't the exact card, could you send me a scan of it for me? Thanks.

I bought a daily propeht card the other week from a seller on ebay and it wasn't until I was telling Anna about it that she said she had seen the exact same picture of the card on an other auction by them. I got rather concerned and requested to see what card I had won, because I was worried I would be paying a high price for a anaff card. But luckily in the end they said they would send the card in the pic, which was a good one. I do wonder what I would have got if I had just paid up  |

That is why I thought it safe to write what I did to this seller, as so many people use one picture for all the auctions. There was a great Fizzing Wizzbees variant up for auction, but I started to notice it more than once, and then noticed the descritpion saying the card shown is just an example. I would of hated to spend so much money and get a plain swatch. Glad you were able to get the one pictured. If you did not write, you may have ended up with something totally different.

Another thing I had not mentioned was that the style of writing in the email I received was very similar to the style of the seller...
Please feel free to disagree with this - say so if you think I am on the wrong track and its just an innocent seller I am harassing!

If thats a scan of the actual card its strange how its exactly the same scan as the one from your auction, complete with the circular marks along the top! I reckon you're on the right track!

I think you are on the right track too. Now had he told me it was a copied picture, that would be a different story, but the pics are identical...everything about them. And the fact that your seller is now not registered AND you never got the card, something is definitely wrong. Please feel free to tell eBay about my email to the seller and the response. I want sellers like this to be caught. ebay is supposed to be a safe buying place, and sellers like this can ruin the entire experience.

Cheers guys  Its actually quite hard to annoy me that much... back to the drawing board for my Sean Bean fix though  I wonder if that buyer will ever see that card? I warned them, and they bid in spite of that, so if they get ripped off - I do not feel sorry for them in the least |
