Ooh - I am looking forward to picking up a Martinez for perhaps 50p to £1, then rubbing it out and seeing if I can find a real artist from the set to draw on the blank card at a convention Wink

Cheesy

Cruel to be kind Wink

The point is he IS a talented artist (actually) but if topps pay between 50 cents and $1 for a card to be sketched on it's hardly surprising he spent the same amount of time on each card as most people spend on signing a card

But surely he's doing his reputation no favours by producing poor sketches?

I would have thought that every card was a mini advertisment for your work...but since he's been rehired for this set... we have to assume not.

His "rush" sketches do have a bit of character but they are worth $9.99 on ebay (BIN) so this is rather disappointing to find in a box at $65

Hmmm, what i don't get is if Topp's are paying a dollar a card, why bother to take the job? There's not much money to be made, and if you're just going to rush through and produce second rate work, it's not going to get you a good reputation. What's the point? Huh

There is a talented artist going around London painting small minitures on chewing gum...

I daresay there are more artists where they came from Wink

To be fair though I wish more sketches were done by people involved in the main project - like the Inkworks Simpsons sets (where epiode directors (I think) sketched...
