Top noth stuff!

So many people have often said "why didn't they do that in the first place" we'll have to assume that the Eagles are susceptible to the ring's power and cannot carry it... or something

The Eagles wanted to make the destruction of the Dark Lord (the one that is not Voldemort Grin) as exciting as possible... what kind of a story oould it have been if it went - and Bilbo gave Frodo the ring, Frodo gave it to Gandalf, Gandalf caled 'Massive Eagles' airlines and the Ring was destroyed?

It would mean making Viggo, Sean Bean, Orlando Bloom, Liv Tyler, JRD, etc redundant... the horror! Shocked

Gandalf can't carry the ring. But I'm sure Frodo could have hitched a lift with the Eagles. I can't quite see an eagle wearing a ring so I'm not sure how susceptable they are to its power. Would have been a good idea to ask them anyway, even if they said no :p

Eagles are illergic to ermm gold, and plus it might be too heavy for them, frodo and sam were a specail case to carry  Grin
