Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone Set (April - May 2005 but...)

Well I'd have thought they'd have changed it for the other sets... I assumed they kept the design because it was an "update" set.

I would think it would change somewhat.  It will be neat to see what they do.  And don't forget, the ties, quidditch uniforms, robes and all were different for the first two movies...so technically, they could do them all again.  I would love to see Tom Riddle's diary and the Invisibility cloak!!

This is just something I heard from a friend who collects movie wardrobe, he said something about the producers of the first Potter film like 'Sectioned' up the original 'physical' invisibility cloak, and gave the pieces to WB exec's as like a 'thank you' gift after production... but then again, they must've had another one for the 2nd movie, but, i don't know

I agree with all the poeple about how long ago the movies where filmed. But, I think (after looking over calenders) that the movies where filmed almost five years ago because it was compeleted months before it appered in theaters. And I've been wondering from fan site to fan site over the past nine month after the third movie came out trying to get my hands on some props. I've found that countless fans have the most of the paper props like the invisibility cloak, the Howler, some class books, many of the Riddle diarys, and the piece of paper Hermione had in her hand (there where many!!) and thousands of fans have many pieces of costume from the Chamber of Secrets. And stuff like Hogwarts letters, many of the costumes, The Sorting Hat (that would be a VARY, VERY, cool card) from the SS/PS. So how many are in wearhouses at the WB studios that can be used in cards for the new sets. I'm sure many people have put some on Ebay and they've probably traveled all over the world throught countless hands of very lucky fans. So how can two other sets be made when so many of the items are missing?

Can we finally say now, that the next set will be "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" and not the "stone"?    I think, the promo card tells the decision. Look at the other topic.

ooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i can think of alot of prop and costume cards. Wouldn't it be fantastic if they could get the costume from the first dumbledore

I've been a bit dissappointed with Gambon which is a shame as he was the bees knees as the Squire in Elizabeth Gaskell's Wives and Daughters

Mike seems excited about it so I am sure he won't.

I'm guessing that the "Lupin Jacket" equivalent this time will be those envelopes used on set in that scene when Harry is not recieving his letters inviting him to Hogwarts.

And it will be a cool card too so no one can feel too annoyed at owning 500 of them

Realistically, how many props and costumes would still be around from a movie that was filmed 3-4 years ago?  There have been a lot of auctions for various props (whether they are real or fake is another matter).

I think it would be neat to have a piece of Quirrell's turban, and maybe we haven't seen a Snape or McGonagall auto yet because Artbox is saving them for this set.

I am kidding... but I'd love to know what real difference the word "Philosopher" has in the US

We "Americans" use the word "Philosopher" to indicate a great thinker, a "Sorceror" is a person who make something from nothing or changes things from one thing into something else --- an alchemist, a wizard or a magician.  I'm speaking for myself here when I say "we". And in that context it has more appeal to the mystic. I mean who wants to see a movie about Plato or Aristotle or worse Euclid (Geometry). Great thinkers but borriiinnnnggggg.

Yes that is what we think of as a Philosoper - but the Philosopher's Stone is always a Philosophers stone - check out Full Metal Alchemist - just translated into "American" english from Japanese is full of talk of the Philosopher's Stone.

I've just come across the thread and I think its so cool looking back on it with hindsight. McG got her bit of Hagrid and the run wasn't anywhere near as big as POA update. ANd the invitation envelope certainly wasn't the Lupins Jacket (I wish lol)
