This is SUCH A TOUGH question.

Hmmm

It has to be a VERY close tie with two BBC productions  Elizabeth Gaskell's "Wives and Daughters" just pipping "Pride and Prejudice" to the post.

I am lucky enough to have a best friend who adores P&P and delights in taking the rip out of it. For example, he walks into my student room and says in his best "Lady Catherine De Burgh" voice "Shelves in the Closet? A Happy Thought Indeed".

Or "a single man in charge of a large fortune MUST be in want of a wife"

ok ok it sounds dull but when you have seen it and laughed with it you will not think it so.

Hmm ok I don't think this translates to a forum too well but it was very funny at the time... honest guv'.

Wow this is a very tough one indeed!  I think it would be easier to list your favorite TV show by its category as to just pick one show is so hard.

For Science Fiction I loved The Outer Limits, The Twlight Zone, and Star Trek with all its spinoffs.   See I told you it was hard!   Wink

For Action my choices are Combat and 12 O'Clock High.

For Comedy I like Cheers and Everybody Loves Raymond.

For Drama I like Lost and Mission Impossible.

For my favorite film it has to be The Lord of the Rings Trilogy!   Smiley

Really?

Are you sure?

I thought it was rather slow and undetailed if you ask me

  - who am I kidding...? I couldn't agree with you more!

Let's see.  My favorite movie is a tough one.  Love Harry Potter, Love Forest Gump, and I really like History of the World by Mel Brooks and The Blue Lagoon.

As for a TV show, I like Charmed, Lost, 24 and the Simpsons.

Fav reality TV show is The Mole, not that they play that anymore.

My favorite television series of all times is Stargate SG1 and it now has the honor of becoming the longest running sci-fi show in the US thanks to the upcoming season 9 in July   Grin and I also love Stargate Atlantis  Grin

The other things I love are:

Reality series: The Amazing Race- the best reality show created IMO

other sci-fi shows I like: Star Trek:Deep Space Nine(reruns)
It would take me forever to list my favorite movies but I will try and just list a few:

1. All the Harry Potter movies
2. Lord of the Rings trilogy
3. the old Star Wars not the new one's
4. Pirates of the Carribean

and so on and so on  Wink

Yeah, It does affect the pocket doesn't it  Grin   I do try and behave and only buy the cards I really want from SG1 but Rittenhouse makes it hard when they offer so many great Daniel Jackson and team cards for me to choose from  Smiley

It was really good, does help if you have a basic knowledge of P&P but doesn't really matter, good film. The music and songs have a mixture of influences. Grin

My Fav Film of all time would certainly have to be The Great Escape....from all the way back to 1963.  Just a fantastic, feel good film for any of you who haven't seen it.  Though it is well over two hours long, it always feels like new watching it again (that is for me at least)

My Fav TV is BY FAR the Simpsons.  Aside from American Football, this is the only time I ever sit down to watch TV.  I just happen to be the right age (21) that The Simpsons pretty much defines my life.  I was 5 years old when I watched my first episode, way back in Season 1, and I haven't missed an episode yet (as sad as that sounds when you look at the garbage they have been putting out recently).

Oh and by the way, I put together an interesting theory recently regarding The Simpsons.  I think the time of passing into manhood coincides when a male can connect more with Homer than Bart.  Whenever I was a little kid, I loved Bart because he would pull pranks and be bad and school etc.  But now that I'm older I can relate more to Homer....working, drinking, etc.  What do you guys think?

Yea I agree The Great Escape is one great film.  They recently upgraded the film on DVD and Dolby so it is even better.  What a great all star cast to boot and on top of all that it is a true story!

Also agree with you on your take of The Simpsons.  My last name is Bart and since The Simpsons have been on I have had more than my fair share of Bart jokes and comparisons!   Wink
