Would you pick up 2 boxes of LOTR FOTR Update for $99???

What about a case of TT update for $340???

Two Towers hobby box for $175??? (sounds like to big of a risk??? but they only have one left)

I know you all probably can tell me if it is a good deal or not.

I may be better off just buying the cards straight up rather than spending $$$ on boxes and pulling sam travel jackets and selling them for $10. Help Should I just spend my money preordering ROTK update boxes.

See your other thread for my opinion on the boxes. As for me, I prefer buying the autographs outright so I can see what I am getting for my money and not, like you said, spending $100 and pulling a Sam costume  Embarrassed. Then again, I have heard there is nothing as exciting as pulling your own autograph from a box...the thrill of the chase, i guess but I wouldn't know, having never done it  Tongue

Do you prefer to collect autographs or costumes? Are you aiming to complete a particular set or just picking and choosing your favourite cards?

I would love to collect the auto's but due to the high $$$ I have decided to go costumes.  I think with the costumes it's not like they will ever be released again.  You can always acquire auto's.  But I would love to have the auto's.

I would like to acquire all of the costume cards for Both ROTK and TT and of course what ever is release for ROTK Update.

I picked up a box of ROTK wave one today for $52 USD not bad.  The first one I bought was $70.  I think people are just plain buying the ROTK auto's its seems much cheaper.

True, but with some actors, their autographs nowadays have deteriorated badly from the FOTR series. I have a beautiful 'Orlando Bloom' FOTR Legolas autograph, now all he usually signs is 'OB'. Tongue Sean Astin and Karl Urban are two other culprits and even Viggo Mortensen's autographs in TT and ROTK aren't as nice as alot of FOTR ones I have seen.

Good luck with the collecting and I hope you pick up some nicely signed autographs on the way  Cheesy

I think I might have overpayed for the Eowyn costume card $56.  It seems like there are about 10 listed right now maybe I will buy a second if I can catch it for less and try to sell BIN for a few bucks more to average it out.

For the money you were willing to spend I would guide you to purchasing individual cards for either Autograph's or Costume cards.  I agree with FTY that I like to see what I am spending my money on.  I do initially purchase boxes or a case of Topps cards but especially in the case of Topps I have been burned twice with Hobby boxes that were to have an Autograph card in them but after opening up all 36 packs no Auto card was found in two boxes.  To say I was upset is putting it mildly.   Lips Sealed  Also the best time to buy Auto's or Costume cards is initially when they are released before desire and inflation raises prices through the roof.
