Hi All.  This is just some information about a show in New Jersey, in the US that is coming April 1 and 2.  Here is a link to the site with information, in case anyone is planning to attend:

I should be there both days as I will be escorting a dear friend of mine who's huge into another type of trading card (Star Trek!) AND doing a charity event for another board, who's name I won't repeat here BUT - it is for charity, so that should be worth something!!

Oh yeah - and my husband will be there representing Rittenhouse Archives and Inkworks always sends someone too - last time it was Doug and Alyssa - both very cool people

At their October show, I met the person that was with the Inkworks booth.  Very nice indeed.

I assume you live near New Jersey if you plan to attend.  Did you happen to go to the one in the Meadowlands in November, I think it was november.  Anyway, there were two Star Trek guests there signing autos for a price.

Yup - I was at that show too - pretty much if it's in reasonable driving distance from Philly, I go

That, and I've been attending Philly Non-Sport shows for gee, 7 years now? Maybe 8.. I vividly remember being pregnant with my oldest and being told to go on bedrest just before the show and being SO distraught that it was safer for them to lug me to the show and plant me in a wheelchair than to leave me home to sulk

And my oldest is 6 now - so probably closer to 8 years.

This will only be the second Philly one I attend, as I just started to really get in to this.  I live in New jersey, about 15 minutes from Philly.

Since you have gone to this show for so many years, I have a question for you.  Last time, in October, we took off work and went on Friday. I heard that more vendors were there on Saturday, more door prizes were given away and that it was just all around better.  Is this true?  I really don't want to take off work again, but if Friday is really usually better, than I will. Thanks!!

There are the same number of vendors each day - I'm trying to remember last show and I think that there were more people on Saturday than were there on Friday (but more people means more of a crowd to fight against)

Saturday does have other elements that Friday doesn't - namely *another* board's meeting and chat with industry personnel and we'll probably be having the raffle and auction on Saturday this year as well.

I, personally, find Saturday to feel very rushed - dealers are in a hurry to tear down and head home, but I can def. see the advantages of both days.

What type of auction do they have?

I figured Saturday would be more people walking around, and the new building they are in is not a large as the convention center they used to use, right?

I just know at the last one I heard there were more door prizes to give away on Saturday, including the Buffy coffin thing they had which was worth $300.  Would you say that you can find better bargins on either of the days or is it all about the same?

At the last one, I picked up a Brian Krause auto (from Charmed) for $20.  Iwas going on eBay at the time for $60-$90.
