I don't know about you but at about 6 pm in my home everything goes quiet quiet on Christmas Day.

We've had lunch, watched the Queen's speech, been for a brisk walk by the beach and we all come in and defrost!

Well this year on the BBC they are showing the Philosopher's Stone.

What I thought of particular interest was that Zoe Wannamaker has voiced the ad  - yes Madam Hooch who walked off the cast of HP after the first film over actors fees and rights. She has very close ties with the BBC so I guess she couldn't refuse to do their advert Wink

Interesting little snippet there Roz ...
I wonder if she regrets walking out of the 'HP franchise' or not?
I suppose if they want to show another Quidditch match in the films, then they don't really need to have a close-up of the ref ... I just think it's a pity she went.

It's a toss-up whether we'll watch a HP marathon or a LOTR one on Christmas Day then Roz!!
You could line-up the HP DVD's to start after the film has finished on the telly or you can just start with the LOTR EE DVD's straight after breakfast and go all day with them! Ha Ha Ha!!!
Or .... if you're greedy ... you could do both!
Just have a plentiful supply of mince pies, nuts, choccies and alcoholic bevvies to hand and away ya go!!:Smiley Grin

Do you know this is the first time I heard she left the movies?  Okay, so I am a little behind here, but yes, they do not need to show her close up in another match, or just hire someone else and use good make-up.  We will all understand.  I mean, although circumstances are different, we all needed to get used to a new Dumbledore, right?

As for Christmas, I only wish I would be home by 6.  I get up early, go from family members house to family member and don't get home until around 11.  My brother-in-law's b-day is on Christmas day, so right after dinner, we have a birthday party.  When I have children, no more running around.  People will need to start coming to me.

That's a good idea provided you can cope with a houseful of people AND your own kids! I found it a nightmare taking my son anywhere over Christmas time because he was overexcited and a real handful ... all quite normal but very wearing!
These days we stay at home so we can take as much time over opening our pressies and eat when we want to. We go and have a Christmas meal at the in-laws a few days before Christmas Day ... this time it was the weekend before ~ it works really well for all of us I've found.
Naturally no presents are opened then, they're saved to be opened in a mad frenzy on Christmas morning!  Roll Eyes Tongue

Sounds like you've got a frantic day of activity ahead of you ... all that eating, drinking, eating, drinking, opening pressies and yet more eating and drinking *phew* ... you'll need the rest of the break to recover! Wink
