We know Artbox start a new hype with the numbered Prop Cards

Now after Artbox, Rittenhouse A. start to make Prop / Relic Cards for the Collectors. RA plan to make Prop Cards for the next SG1 Set.

"For the first time ever, Stargate SG-1 Relic cards featuring pieces of actual show props. Each card will be individually numbered for added collectability. We have gathered an impressive assortment of props including:

    * Jonas' Journal from "Memento"
    * Alien Diary from "Forsaken"
    * Carter's Surveillance Map from "Paradise Lost"
    * Alien Ship Blueprint from "Night Walkers"
    * NID Fax from "Heroes"
    * Schematics from "Entity"
    * EDS Dossier from "Absolute Power""

Release Date is February

First Artbox now Rittenhouse. Wonder if Topps is the next  Grin Inkworks is still bussy with the Costume / Autos so i guess we can expect Prop Cards from Inkworks in 2006

It sounds cool to me!

I really like the idea of numbered prop cards if they are produced in low numbers that is Wink who wants 3372 of 906527 produced? Tongue (ooh it's an early number Tongue)

I think it's great and I wish it would be done for LOTR... although it would be a travesty to cut LOTR things up. And you'd probably have to murder Peter Jackson in order to get them out of his cold dead handses since he owns them all (which would be an awful thing to do - well at least until he's done movies of the Hobbit, Silmarillion etc Tongue)

Juuuuuuuuuuuuuust kidding folks  Tongue

No worries Roz - there's a lot of 'white' space on some of the props we acquired, so while they might look big, the usuable space (ie, something actually on it) is alot smaller, so there'll be no 352/12,364's out there from Rittenhouse Wink

It is very cool though, to hold the props (and the costumes) when you're sticking them in the box, knowing they're going to be chopped up into itty bitty pieces. See for me, I like knowing that 500 people are going to own a piece of it, rather than just 1 person hogging the whole thing

I really like the idea of prop cards.  I'd heard rumors years ago( in 1999) of Inkworks attempting to get a stake from BUFFY to make prop cards, but I guess that never worked out. I'm glad Rittenhouse is using them in the new Stargate set(although I don't do Stargate). I hope this is the start of a new trend.

Roz - We can only dream of LOTR prop cards :'( , I'm afraid.

If Topps ever did make LOTR prop cards (which I think is about as likely as them making Star Wars costume/prop cards), what LOTR props do you think would be suitable for mounting in a card?

Slice up one of the 'One Rings' in little cross sectional wafers?

A little bit of pipe weed?

Perhaps some PO-TAY-TOES?  Oh wait, Sam didn't actually have any of those.  ;-)

Chop up the full size Treebeard for 30,000 cards?

My personal favorite-
Little pieces of Hobbit feet?

My list became a little more facetious than I indended as my post went along.  But seriously, what would you like to own a little piece of from Tolkien's (by way of Peter Jackson) LOTR universe?

The maps would be wonderful ~ imagine the variety you'd get!

Pieces of Shelob's spider web ....

I like the idea of tiny pieces of Hobbit feet .... scratch 'n' sniff you could make those! Tongue

The obvious leading on from the feet-ses ... Elven ears!

Bits of the various wigs and beards that were used .....

Chain mail ... not too sure if that comes under 'props' or 'costume', but can you imagine how thick the cards would be with a few links stuck/mounted on them?! Shocked
