Blank sketch cards

Does anyone know where I can get some of these or who I woul dhave to ask?

You could always take some of those crappy Martinez ones from the star wars set and rub them out - I'm sure you'd lose less money than buying blank cards

The problem with making your own is that you want high quality gloss for printing it - and yet paper that will take pencil  

...and I don't mind mentioning that even big card companies get it wrong. Warren Martineck said that for a recent card set (which will remain nameless to save embarassment) he started to sketch and nothing happened... the card was too glossy

What you need is 100 lb. bristol board cut to size.

Or even better not cut to size so the artists have more room.

And then trim to size

Well I am looking to get some, I would prefer to get blank ones or ones that just say sketch.. not like starwars, and have something else drawn on them though I was going to do that and got outibd!

If i can find what it needed I can try, I would like to try to get a bunch of these

Well if you have any luck, please let me know as I am interested in investing in something like this as it's a little bit more professional to hand out sketches on something like that than sheets of A4 (like I did at Memorabilia!)

lol but I agree - it's nice to have it all in a small space... akin to the size you sketch in when you do the comic strips

Well I bought the paper I was told to.
Now to design a sketch card and print it out and see what I can come up with.

ANy ideas?

Roz ... try ringing the number on that business card I sent to you a while back, as they should stock it.
Alternatively any other art suppliers should do.
Ideally, Mark ought to go and take a look at the board Olly mentions to see what the surface is like on it ... it's suitability will very much depend on what medium you'll be using on it ~ pencil, indian ink, marker pen, pastels, gouache, watercolour and so on.

If you're still unsure ... then ask!

Well what are cards really made of?

100LB is to thin, 148( the heaviest I found besides posterboard) is still a little thin, to where if you print on one side and they draw on the other it is ok, but if they sign it in a sharpie it will show through.

Does anyone know what cards are made of?
