To Open, or Not to Open, that is the Question

I have five unopened boxes of the original POA set and five unopened boxes of the Update set. It appears that alot of us are not satisfied with the current pulls for the Update boxes. So I'd like to know everyone's opinion on whether to open the boxes or hold on to them for a possible better return on a future sale.

I would be reluctant to open the update boxes cause that turned out to be a bit of a dissappointing set.
hmm and the er original poa set was just as bad *cough* so erm send them my way and I will take them off your hands
hehe seriously though if you plan to sell boxes of the original PM me and let me know cause I may be interested in a box

I bought a number of boxes of the original POA after the price started to skyrocket. I do not think that will happen to the Update set. For a couple of reasons, there are much more boxes, and the quality of the pulls is now a know fact. There were 4 box pulled (not dealer incentive) cards of 100 or less each in the first set. In the Update the best pull is 1 of 300+ quantity. there are costume cards that are 1 of 2173 and 1 card of 1 of 2900. The auto's have some interesting ones like the dual and the triple as well as Daniel's and Rupert's, but their rarity cannot make a $100 cost per box worth it. The poor sorting of the cards is just another reason. Nice cards but they should not repeat the $/box of the original. Even the originals are not selling for $200 plus they once garnered. (hovering around $160 max) If this is good enough for you, then sell the original POA's one at a time (if on eBay) and the POA Update, if you need the money now, sell them but holding on to them will not inflate in price like the original.

You could try an auction selling one POA box and one update box, and see how that does.
I also think it wouldn't hurt to wait and see what happens to box prices over the next couple of months. If prices go up, you can sell for a modest profit, and if prices go down, then you can open the boxes and hope for the best.
