Oooh - I popped into my university bookshop to pick up a copy of Deception Point and gues what was on the shelf next to it? The illustrated Da Vinci Code!  (I would have started reading if the irate shopkeeper didn't keep harassing me  ) I'm still hanging out for the illustrated Angels and Demons edition though  There were also all the 'unravelling the Da Vinci Code' and 'Exposing the myth' books as well - they will be interesting to read, basically they try to expose Dan Brown and is reseach on the books as fraud Hmmm....  I'm intrigued to hear what they have to say, as obviously the ideas that he has in his books are pretty controversial and there are always 2 sides of the story |

Those books do sound interesting FTY. I went to my local library yesterday afternoon to return a book when I saw a copy of Angels & Demons on CD. I took it out and it has 16 CD's and is the unabridged reading of the book! I will be listening to this one for the next several weeks!! |

Ok so I have finished reading both Angels & Demons and The Da Vinci Code...... Is it horrible to say that I actually liked Angels & Demons better than The DV code? I found A&D a lot more interesting and action-packed...I dont know why The DV Code is more popular really...........even though it was a great story too, I just liked A&D better, and I loved Vittoria in A&D as opposed to Sophie, she was just more likable....  |

lol *fisticuffs out* I found Sophie easier to empathise with But I admit I read the Da Vinchi Code first... I wonder if this skews your thoughts - because FTY likes A&D more and she read that one first too! I agree with Trey and FTY as I too loved Angels & Demons. I like it much better than the Code. In fact I read The DaVinci Code first and enjoyed it and saw on the inside cover what other books Dan wrote. I saw that Angels & Demons was the first book with the character Robert Langdon so I had to get it and after reading both I agree that A&D's should have received more credit. |

Oh well fine it's just me and my Mum in a small Da Vinchi adoration club on our own! Look we have Da Vinchi Club badges and you can't have any  ROFL! I have done my best to ensure a lot of people on the forum have had badges but I know some of you haven't got them yet! APOLOGIES! |

Just! Only just! It's a close call. I read A&D first as recommended by Ed and I'm glad I did, but I don't thik that it would have skewed my opinions on the books no matter which order I read them in. Both of them are fantastic, but IMO Angels and Demons just pips Da Vinci Code at the post |

Badges, what badges........im always in for a good badge........  Don't get me wrong, I did like the Da Vinci Code too and I found myself researching Da Vinci's 'The Last Supper' and looking for certain...erm people, and hand gestures (I dont want to give much away for those who havent read it) but I just thought A&D was soo much more interesting and there were quite a few twists at the end too, not to mention the four 'quests' throughout the book... Oh don't get me wrong - it's amazing, marvellous, fantastic - I just have fonder memories of the Da Vinchi Code It was the first one I read... what can I say?  |

I have started Deception Point today....I only read on the train to and from work so I dont know when I will have it finished but I will post my thoughts again and see if anyone else agrees with me ( I will try not to stur things up!)
Does anyone know if Dan Brown is going to write another book continuing on with the character of Robert Langdon??

Just finished Deception Point... I highly recommend it to all!
To everyone - if you liked Da Vinci Code, consider getting all the Dan Brown books - they are all brilliant!
