It sounds like it was a retail box T&F - they only had one insert a box.

Sad

Anna tells me there's an H somewhere on the hobby boxes to say they are Hobby, maybe she can remind us where

It had the starry "H" underneath the chrome card on the front then?

Well sorry - you did get the best costume but good luck getting Topps to stand up to their "3 items" a box rule - because they never stand up to it - trust me I've had 2 duds in about 5 or 6 boxes of Topps LOTR products

The H is located just to the left of where it says NEW LINE CINEMA on the top of the box.

I haven't heard of one.  I ended up putting my collection in a 3-ring Legalos notebook. Grin

I always got the impression it was Cards Inc that had these made for Topps* - for some reason - despite Darren being a big advocate of this set he never made one.

*just a suspicion

I thoght I might as well post the pulls from the Hobby box I got forever ago now, I think it was a couple months after the set came out, so its been awhile.

I got Frodo's Tunic, Aragorn auto, and a Eomer auto.  Azn

Not bad I don't think. I believe I paid $60 for the box at a card shop.

Yeah even looking back now the trilogy set was great, it was a delight to open and had some great signers Smiley

Although if the insert rate had been one a box I don't think it would have been quite the same story!

Well... there was a box I'd been saving for a rainy-pack opening finger itchy day.. and today was that day.

So let me tell you - I opened all but 8 packs and hadn't got a single costume or auto... my heart was sinking when I picked up a pack and it felt thicker... I tore it open and it was.... FRODO'S ELVEN TUNIC.. .WOO HOO.

Continuing on (spirits raised) I find a Billy Boyd auto.

And last but not least... a LIV TYLER auto... I'm pretty pleased with that.

I'm slightly annoyed though because a) I didn't know Ed still needed a Liv Tyler and b) I didn't know that one was lying around in my room... GRrrrrr

Congrats on your great pulls Roz. Grin  I like it when the good stuff is near the bottom of the box.  I hate it when I open my first pack and it contains the one premium card in the box. Undecided  I get discouraged from opening the rest of the packs then. Roll Eyes

Yeah exactly... it's ok if it's the first box you have opened of that product because you are still interested enough to look at the cards and enjoy them but if you get the auto in the first pack then and you've seen the base set 1000 times then it's not so much fun Sad

Hope it's ok to post this auction notice here as well.

Just wanted to let you all know I've listed the first of my 6 aftermarker cards on that auction site! It's hand-painted using acrylics, ink and colored pencil. The after market cards are the only ones I did with full color.
