Newbie bidder headache

I've been outbid on an item by someone with 1 feedback.  I HATE newbie bidders!!  They always seem to drive up prices to more than what an item is usually worth.  I still have about 15 hours until the auction ends, so I'm hoping he bid the minimum increase and I can snipe him at the end.

What's a sellers dream?  2 newbies in a bidding war.

It's so true.  What we hate as a buyer, we love as a seller.   The best way to deal with a newbie is to not get into a bidding war until the last 15-30 seconds of an auction.

Dont forget that you to were a newbie at one point and how did you do with your first few auctions LOL I know I paid over the top on mine till I learnt how to do things diferently

I think lots of us have done the same things as newbies.  I can recall how I use to bid things up w/ days left on an auction (dumb, dumb, dumb, sigh).  Live and learn.  I like to wait til there's 15 sec or less to make my move.  I have a max that I'm willing to spend and usually won't exceed.  Lots of time I won't even bid on an item at all and just place the auction in my "Watch List" w/ the intent of striking at the last moment

This is exactly how i do things now too. I never bid on anything until there are around 10 seconds left and everything i want to bid on is carefully watched in my "Watch List". Just like you i remember how i used to bid days before an auction ended using what i thought was a good maximum bid only to lose out right at the end to somebody who had put in a higher bid right at the end leaving me no time to put in a better one. At least we learn from our mistakes.

Be careful who you taunt. Maybe a***3 has been around XMA longer than you have.

Then again, I'm confident Kelly could take on anybody else who could fit into the uniform. 

Back to the topic, some of us have "lives" that don't allow us to be watching at the last few minutes of every auction. More often I just have to bid early and let the chips fall.

If nobody bids early, it makes it tough for snipers to figure out how much other lurkers might be willing to pay.
