I think it would be nice to see pictures of everyone's favourite cards! But there are some rules.

1. A limit of two cards. Why two? Well picking 1 favourite is REALLY REALLY HARD so 2 makes it a little better. 3 is too much.

2. The pictures must be of YOUR OWN cards.  Not what you would like to own sometime in the future.

3. You have to explain WHY these are your favourite cards.

I'll start with mine!

This isn't the most valuable card in my collection but it is my favourite.  First of all it is an FOTR card giving it a great look already. I like the pic of Aragorn as Strider. But what really makes this card special is the quality of the autograph. To me, it is perfectly centered and very level horizontally.  More importantly, the two Gs are excellent. They are parallel to each other, have nice hooks at the ends, and do not go down to far! The autograph just has great proportion to my eyes.  Grin

This card is my second favourite for a reason that some people may call superficial, I have one and you don't! Tongue (please don't take that personally) Yes, Ian Holm accidently signed the back of the card first before he realized his mistake and signed the front.  I have only seen three other similiar cards making this one of the rarest variants you can find!

There you have it! My two favourite cards! You can see the rest of my collection at http://members.shaw.ca/arifsayani/lotrauto.htm

Your turn!

BAH to msn... as they do not allow direct linking to their images!

Boo!

May I suggest www.photobucket.com, it's free, you get 100 mb of webspace, they even tell you what code you need to use for ebay auctions, forums etc

(for this forum it's

[ img ] www. web address here .co.uk [/ img ]

only without all the spaces!

But if you prefer you can use my photobucket account Smiley

Boo Hoo I want to join in - and I will do as soon as I get Mark's and my autos and a scanner in the same place at the same time  Wink

Thanks Roz - I already have an account there, its where my avatars are kept. Duh, forgot about it! Roll Eyes

Ohhh that is too hard - did you have to say 3 is too many? I have 3 favourite cards - isn't it always the case?  To the mod and 300S- please don't be too harsh on me  I have to post all 3, I couldn't leave one of them out! Sorry about the bad scans Tongue I will borrow my friends digital camera and hopefully get better shots of my autos soon

Like 300S, FOTR Aragorn is one of my favourites - beautiful auto - though it does cross out the 'G' I don't care - its the best Viggo I have seen (really, I am not biased Wink) I like the FOTR card design the best out of the 3 Aragorns as well. After Legolas, Aragorn and Eowyn are my favourite characters. Oh and Faramir too, but i would really be pushing it if I posted him as well, so I won't

I adore my FOTR Legolas - it was my second autograph card ever. Legolas has always been my favourite character starting from when I picked up the books age 10 (early fan Smiley) and during the movies of course. A lovely signature from the current Mr 'OB' - again, I have not seen many autos that are as neat and elegant as this

Eowyn is also a favourite character - I love the card design and photo *cough ROTKU PJ cough* and Miranda Otto's autograph is one of the best of all the signers - consistent, value for money -- ink-wise and legible as well as always within the ring. This is the best Eowyn auto I have seen - very neat even for Miranda's usual standards  She is also a fantastic actress

Phew! Cool

Sorry I cannot post my favorite images as all of mine are packed away as we have had hardwood flooring installed in our home.  We had to remove everything to either the basement or the garage.

My favorite three are:

First - The Aragorn Auto card from The Fellowship.  In my opinion it is the best image of the 3 Aragorn Auto cards.  It seems to convey an inner strength and resolve that can be seen in Viggo's eyes.

Second -  The Gandalf Auto card.  Sir Ian was superb in all 3 films and I love the look and feel of this card plus it is the only one available!

Third - The Boromir Auto card from The Fellowship.  I liked Sean Bean's portrayal of Boromir and his full signature.  I also like the image.

I would have to say

#1 my FOTR Gandalf, because it was my first FOTR auto and I pulled it. and I almost passed out!

#2 FOTR Aragorn, always loved this card and this is one of the main ones I wanted.

Here is the link to all my autos but:

ROTKu Peter Jackson
FOTR Merry, Frodo, Boromir, Galadriel, Gimli

I think that is because it is one great looking card with an autograph to match!   Smiley

Too right!

When I get around to posting my pics here  Tongue it will be

1) FOTR Gandalf!

Well he rules LOTR to me, he's the man! And he was the first autograph of a famous person I ever owned (thanks Ed! Smiley)

2) FOTR Aragorn

Fab pic, rune like signature. Aragorn is the hero to take them all out!

3) TTU Sean Bean

First off ours has the signature "S Bean" and I like Boromir, what more persuasion do you need  Roll Eyes

Don't know about great minds...  Wink

I am not surprised that FOTR Aragorn is so popular - give me that over FOTR Merry anyday!

I noticed something curious as I was looking at my 2 FOTR Aragorns - my mint Aragorn has a red mark above his right eye - you can just make it out in my scan - but the torn Viggo does not have this. Has anyone's Aragorn have this red mark? It appears as part of the picture like a scar on his face, not a superficial mark.

Ooh - does this mean I have a variant? Wink It is definitely part of the picture - the surface gloss of the card is even so it means the card was not marked or scratched. Hmmm...

soccerfanatic, if you read this, did you notice this mark?

Maybe they printed out a batch, decided they did not want the scar there and airbrushed it for the rest of the cards?

It makes no difference to me - the card is perfect in every other way - I bet you that they took that pic after his fight with the ringwraiths Grin

Is the red mark up on the forehead along the hairline (where VM's hair drops down)? Can you post a scan to show?
