It looks like he has been selling a few singles from the hobby set, so hopefully he didn't crack his hobby case and sell some retail.  I hate it when they are not very clear on the auctions.  The seller seems like he/she is up to speed on the prices of many of the single cards, so I can't imagine them not knowing what the value of a hobby box is.  Let us know!!!

I've got my fingers crossed for you!

After all that would still represent a good profit for the seller - they were about $50 a box on preorder!

... I am hoping that he broke his case which he previously purchased for $1000 or so .. I see that he has put a Ron Costume card up for $500 or so on a BIN .. so maybe he pulled that from his 1st box and is going from there ...

From the seller ,, any help would be appreciated ..

You asked what type of box.

It is a box I received directly from Artbox to replace my damaged/misprinted cards. It looks like a commercial box. It just reads on the top "8 cards/pack... 24 packs/box" I believe I had that in the description.

On the bottom of the box it reads "Card set 99 total, 8 cards per pack, 90 foil-stamped base cards, 9 Rare foil chase cards."

Sounds like retail to me

 Undecided

But Steve! How did he get them to replace his damaged cards - I have tonnes of badly cut base cards - Gimli emailed them but got no response... right I am taking more *interesting* measures!

Well I have sent a pic of the top of a hobby box to the seller and see what they come back to me with .. It is no great shakes If I do not go ahead ... I am sure that I can come to an arrangement with the seller over the re-listing fee ...

They can claim their fees back by saying that they have mutually agreed with you not to go ahead with the same - keep it amicable and you should do just fine!

In my opinion I would definately say that is a retail box and he knows it.  I have seen a few in the beggining that went for $100 because they left out the picture and said look for random chase cards.  You can pick up a retail box for max $50 if you want one.

Don't get scamed on this one.  No one would part with a hobby box for $80.

No, its definitely a retail...

Someone was offering a box 24/8 packs for $140AUD ($100US) mail to Australia only BIN and I got really excited... but then looked at the photo and it was a retail. Just to make sure, I emailed the seller who informed me that it was retail and the hobby versions were 'very, very popular in the States and UK' and had sold out. Really? Didn't know that  Roll Eyes

I thought retail was 36/8, but is it 24/8 as well?

If I read the description correctly, it does say it was an Artbox box. Since Artbox didn't release the retail boxes (or am I wrong) you should be able to complain about false advertising...I think you could even report that to ebay if the guy doesn't want to cooperate.

Well I sent this e-mail

"Many thanks. I actually wanted to buy a "hobby box". It would apprear that the box you are selling is a "retail" box.

I do not wish to purchase the box. I beleive that ebay will refund you the listing fee. Please let me know as If they do not we could come to an arrangement over this."

Acutally . How much would the seller fee be on a $79.99 BIN  Huh?,, If push come to shove I can always cought it up through paypal

Don't think it would be too much... better than coughing up $80 for a retail box!
