And are these things acid free?

I'm not sure if they are.   I'm using these hinged cases as more of a temporary storage for my thick cards.  My cards aren't in penny sleeves either because they won't fit in the hinged cases that way.   Pro-Mold is working on making screw-down cases that will fit these cards, but they're not out yet.   Their web site says "Coming Soon!" for 175 pt. cases.

My "verdict" is that I like the thick cards.

Sure, they are a bit more difficult to store. But they sure provide something out of the ordinary - they make the set even more interesting - and they help Artbox position the Potter franchise as something that isn't run-of-the-mill.  I think we'll see other manufacturers try the same thing.

I have some sleeves that will fit my Fluffy and Broom, and I always can attach the sleeved card to a sheet of 9-pockets in my binder.

We can't get hold of most of things you mention here in the UK! 
I've tried getting the single screwdown cases for my LOTR costume cards but most US sellers won't ship them abroad because of the weight :'(
Team bags ... where the heck can you get them from if you only want a few ...

I paid £4 for 200 in Staples you can have a few off me, but I don't know if they are acid free so I wouldn't keep cards in them for longer than a month!

well for all you in the Uk I am looking to get hinged boxes in 15, 35 50 and 100 count so hopefully these will be good for sending and storing these cards i will let you know how well they work when i get them

I do really love the thick cards in this set but........

If I was buying packets from a shop I would be a bit miffed.  Just by feeling the sides of the packs I spotted at least half of the thick cards.  No one would stand a chance at a Fluffy from buying one pack as it sticks out like a sore thumb.

So yes they are beautiful but too easy to pick out.  I know some of you will say 'no pleasing some people'.  I am not saying I think they should dump them for the other sets as I buy boxes so am not affected, just to maybe have an upper limit on the thickness.

They will fit in a 4-pocket page, but they're slippery and can slide out easily.   I use Scotch brand acid-free double sided tape (for documents) to seal the pocket edges closed and you can still open the pockets for removal, if needed.

Actually, it doesn't say removable.  The tape I'm using is 3M Scotch Photo & Document Tape, Acid-Free, 002, Double-Sided.  The package color is purple and black.  It cost around $5 US for a roll.

Corrections were made to these two cards:

  40 / Gringotts Coin Galleon (25 case incentive card)  120pt

  205 / Wand (10 case incentive card)  175pt (Same as Fluffy, but the prop on one extends above the surface of the card, maybe 2 pt or so.)

Despite the fact that I have now spent literally thousands of dollars on POA, POAU, and Sorcerer's Stone combined, I still do not like the size of the new Prop and Costume cards.  I just went through ten nine-pocket pages trying to insert the costumes that will fit.  Each time I got down to the last one and the page ripped.  If Artbox was going to make the cards this big, then they should have produced a series of pages to fit cards that were this big.  I shouldn't need to spend tons of money on the actuall cards, then have to spend tons more to store them.

I agree. I've probably spend thousands of dollars on Harry Potter Trading Cards I havent even broke 20 inserts

I also agree Artbox should make their own cases to go along with SS. I very much like these and like to keep them as protected as I can and in the brown evnvelope I keep having to open it to let everyone see and its just wearing away the stciky. Half the cards are twice, triple the size of normal costume cand prop cards and already two weeks after the release we already getting frustrated with them

Pro-Mold has just released their 180 pt Screw-Down Case.   Hurray!  These cases will accommodate the thickest of the SS card inserts.

The only problem is that they cost $3.00 each if you buy 1-9 of them.   Price breaks are 10-24 - $2.70 each, or 25 and up - $2.40 each.  They are expensive, but they are also acid-free.  Here's the link to the new case:

I was just there, and I want one, but how do we find out the shipping cost for it?  I wonder if it would be easier to wait and see if anyone has them at the card show I am going to in August.
