I saw on Teletext that they are taking a comment David made in an interview for the doctor who magazine, that series two might be his last
. What he said was;
David was also asked the 64-million dollar question: would he like to sign up to film a third series?
"It's a funny question, that, isn't it? As soon as I accepted this job, the first question I got asked was, 'How long are you staying?'
"It's difficult to judge, because there's an element of being in a long-running show that's a gamble, because I am 35 now, and if I stayed in this for as long as it was humanly possible, I'd still have to have some kind of a career at the other end of it, so it's judging when is the right moment to go.
"I think I now know how many series I'm going to do, and Russell, Julie, and I have talked about it, and will continue to talk about it, but I think it would be stupid of me to say more than that right now - anything can happen, and everything can change..."
I know what he means, thinking back on the doctors not many have had much of a career after. Although I would be very dissapointed if he only made two series.
I am hopeful though because I have read that RTD has already got plans on the third series, so hopefully that is including David's doctor. Although the third series hasn't even been commsioned yet as far as I know.
Teletext also said David is going to be doing a film next year, starting in May. Now how long will that take? Will in fit in the gap between doctors, or will it take longer and therefore point to him not coming back :-(
Personally I would feel very cheated if he only did two, but I would be happy to accept three before he goes off to find pastures new. Hope you are listening David
