Darren: Are those unbelieveable odds or what? To have 4 tripples out of 5 boxes sold! Does that tell anyone about insert/distribution problems coming so close upon each other?

Ed i think he meant, the person brought 5 cases or boxes and sold 5 of the 4 boxes or cases and there was 1 tripple auto card in it.

If the Harry Potter movies remain as popular as they are at the moment, there is a good chance the prices will rise in the long-run. But, do the HP movies have the long-term universal appeal that Star Wars has, and that I believe, LOTR will have?
Certainly, the one-off signed cards do well, no matter what the series - not easy to find a Gary Oldman Sirius card on ebay these days.
With Lord of the Rings, I think the FOTR set will always have the greatest appeal as the design was fab and there were many one-time signers. A Ganfalf auto recently went for £175 in the UK - that's a good price! And the fewer out there, the higher the price will rise in the future.
Viggo on the other hand, has signed so many times, BUT his FOTR card remains the top-demand card, with prices maintaing a respectable £80 - £110 recently.
At the end of the day, unless you're in it for the money, buy the cards you like - if the prices go up and down, nevermind - I am so happy to have Ian Mckellen and Viggo's cards as I'll prob never meet them in person. If maybe in 20 years time they're worth more, it would be good too.

Great thoughts Paxcards, you hit the nail on the head about the Mckellen and Viggo FOTR Auto cards. I have them too and they are two of my favorite Auto cards! Ben: Yes I do have some framed photos of me flying my F/A-18 Hornet and a few other types of aircraft. I will dig them out and take some photos for you. They are in storage until we get our house completed so it may take a few days. Keep checking your gmail account and I will get them to you as soon as I can.

I would love to get Ian McKellan's auto card as well - originally I wanted to get autos from all the members of the Fellowship and Gandalf is the hardest to get (unless you count a decent Sean Bean sig ). Missing these 2, Frodo (and would you believe it!) Sam I agree - auto cards are the way to go if you are unlikely to actually meet the stars!

Thanks Ed, i'll look forward to seeing them Oi - Ed - Mark and I want copies too Since I originally posted this thread we have had a Hermione auto not sell (reserve not met - ending at about £100 if I remember rightly) and a BIN on a $1200 Dan auto - there's other auctions on but no other endings that I have spotted!

I hope it sells Olly! I would love it if I could afford it I've said it before, but Rupert has the most amazing signature - especialy for a 15 year old! In the words of one HP character: 'Wicked!'

Yeah I also love the way he's written RON under his name in all the autos (but not on the triple interestingly enough)
