I have just noticed that everybody is calling this Hedwig but it doesn't look like a snowy owl to me. Is it? or is a brown owl?

You're right.  Mine looks like the owl that delivered his first letter.  The one that's on the poster for the SS movie.

The checklist for the set calls it Soaring Owls. No mention of Hedwig.
