I do all my shipping through Paypal, and noticed something this week.  Paypal, or the Post office, I'm not sure which, has taken away the 20 cent processing fee for first class mailings.  My 1 oz. packages now cost .62 cents to mail instead of .82 cents.  I think this is a really great deal!  I get automatic delivery confirmation, plus I don't have to drag my 2 kids to the post office to do my mailings.   Anyway, for those who sell on ebay and are still handwriting and hand stamping your packages, this is a super fast alternative.  Plus no one can say "I did'nt get my card!"  Delivery confirmation is included!  Now all they need to do is make some kind of option for overseas mail.

I wonder if you can only do your shipping through Paypal over in the US?
I've not heard of this being available to UK ebay sellers ... unless someone else knows differently?

If it's available in the UK, you will have little "ship" buttons next to your sales when you click on the history tab.  Maybe Paypal hasn't worked it all out yet with the British post.

The British postal system defies description at the best of times, so I somehow doubt that Paypal would have managed to arrive at some kind of agreement with them making it easier for sellers here in the UK to send their items!
I'm hoping maybe Roz or another of the UK sellers will clarify this, as it's an interesting concept and I imagine quite a few would use it ... especially if it means a reduction in the fees you have to pay at the end of a transaction! LOL

Well the Royal mail (uk post) do seem to be going more digital, you can now getyour own postage with the right software from there site, so maybe one day.

I would happily pay to do this - I've heard about it I think it was Cindy who told me all about it - I might be wrong though it's a while since I heard about it.

Everything is in place (infrastructure wise) to set this going in the UK - the post office already have a "print your own stamps feature" and a cheap trackable system in the UK - well it's 80p to the US $1.30 (as far as I can gather) so it costs around the same.

But no paypal haven't done anything like this yet but I SO WOULD use it given half a chance

You guys will love it once it all gets worked out.  I think it's .45 cents for delivery confirmation if you get it at the post office, but only .13 cents to get it online.  It's $1.30 for US insurance, same price online or at the post office.

If you go to eBay General Announcements (you can access it through the My Messages page in My eBay), there's info about the change in shipping fees on June 10.  Actually, I'll just paste it in here:

One of my priorities for eBay.com is to make shipping less of a hassle for you. Put simply, we want to do for shipping what we did for online payments when we acquired PayPal and integrated it into the transaction flow on eBay.

Last year, we introduced the ability to save time by printing shipping labels with pre-filled address information, billed directly to your PayPal account. You've told us you love this – in fact, you've printed millions of labels so far.

To cover our processing costs, we've been charging a 20-cent fee for each USPS® First Class®, or Media Mail®, and Parcel Post® label. But starting next Friday, June 17, eBay and PayPal no longer will charge this processing fee. Many sellers on eBay stand to save hundreds – even thousands – of dollars per year with the elimination of this fee.
