Harry Potter / Diagon Alley / Genuine HP Props
|
on: October 19, 2012, 02:53:41 AM
|
|
Hi all, I am unfortunately in a position where I am looking to have to sell a few of my genuine props which I have collected over the last few years. I've been very lucky to get hold of a number of wands, paper props and other great items which can possibly go if the price is right and I stress that. I do need to sell a couple of items and they will be priced to sell, but I am not going to give anything away! I will send images to people if requested however as I have had a few people (including one person on here) claim to be interested in one of my items, then back out, and strangely produce a 'copy' of the item several weeks later I will not be sending full images. Hopefully a couple of you will get in touch and I look forward to that. Many thanks RichT

Harry Potter / Diagon Alley / Harry Potter POA (Artbox) & TCG (Wizard) HELP -
|
on: August 18, 2012, 05:29:49 PM
|
|
Hi all, I've been going through my collections - and have realised that there are a few gaps, which if anyone could help with I would be really grateful..... Firstly I am missing the following from the Artbox set for Prisoner of Azkaban (possibly Update)... M05 and M09 - these have the picture of Hogwarts and the badge on the back. Secondly I have a lot of missing cards from the Wizard of the Coast Trading card Game series.....
Diagon Alley = 17 (Hedwig) Foil, and 27 (Leaky Cauldron) Foil.
Adventures at Hogwarts = 24 (Quidditch Pitch) Foil, and 57 (Chimaera) Foil
Chamber of Secrets = I am missing lots and lots.
I have a number of swops if a trade is possible, or would happily purchase these if the price is right.
Does anyone know where I can get hold of these please? - have searched the www with little success....
Many thanks in advance for any help / guidance
Rich

Harry Potter / The Leaky Cauldron / Redemptions
|
on: August 27, 2010, 09:38:22 PM
|
|
Hi all, I'm in the process of sorting some redemption cards to send in, and I just wondered if people would advise which redemption cards have not been received as yet? Apart from the obvious on going Mad eyed Moody (Gleeson) and from what I read Hermione (Emma Watson) from the latest set, the latter which I expect will be out soon - are there any others which Artbox are not sending straight back, that anyone knows about? Many thanks for your help. Richard

the coa's all come from HP4U

General Stuff / Ebay and Paypal quibbles/problems / Re: Concern over seller (s)

A slight result - but it is now bringing me into conflict with paypal (bless them!) they have given me back £150 - as they claim this to be the maximum protection level on this item. Which is total crap!!!! I had printed off (which was lucky as now the seller has been banned from ebay all of the auctions can no longer be accessed!! - Convienient hey!!) the auction page where it states that protection was £500 on this item. So on monday I have to fax it accross to them and they will take it further. Makes a mockery of paypals protection claims if the auctions can say one thing and then they can do another. I am bitterly disappointed by this (but not overly suprised). They are not helping themselves at all at the moment. One of the other buyers had the case found in his favour but no money and the other buyer is still waiting..... I hope paypal have something in place to go after someone who has basically defrauded and devalued the market in terms of Harry Potter Autographs - thats just my thoughts!
Take care all RichT

Paypal are taking their time on this one - it is the first time that I have had any real issue (but not the last I fear), so am unsure over time - last time I communicated with them my claim had been passed to a different department so was now at the bottom of that particular pile!!!! I have heard from one of the other buyers whom this seller had taken money from and he has now been informed that paypal are unable to recover any of his money at all.
This poses a couple of questions for me - what exactly is the purpose / use of the paypal promise where the buyer is covered upto £500 (on certain items in the UK (including this one - otherwise I would have thought twice about bidding - I believe the levels differ according to feedback and countries) - if paypal do not always stick to it? Surely paypal should have some form of insurance to cover what (in this case) appears to be fraud, and other circumstances where problems arise on this scale. Ive heard something about paypal only being able to get what is within the accounts at the time - so if someone was cute, its not difficult to work out how to make sure you can take the money and run (so to speak!)
Secondly what course of action is suggested if paypal come back with such a response? - for me (and other buyers) - we are not talking about small amounts!!
Allender - you are totally correct - the feedback was really good but i'd now put in the claim if you havent already - I dont think the buyer even ever had the cards!
As ever all thoughts and advice gratefully received. Hope all are well. Take care RichT

Harry Potter / The World of Harry Potter: 3D Trading Cards - Series 2 / Re: World of HP in 3D -- 2nd Edition
|
on: April 13, 2008, 04:11:22 AM
|
|
So what do we expect this set to include? Forgive me if i'm wrong but did the 1st edition of World of HP not cover up to and including the Goblet of Fire film?
Does that mean that potentially there will be a part 3 after HBP and a part 4 after DH? Oh and Memorable Moments surely needs several editions does it not?
I realise that artbox has its profits to think about - but is this not a 2nd edition coming too early and therefore another set of cards that will be seen as overkill? Artbox will say it is the first set of the year I guess, so the HBP 1st set will follow later in the year, with the HBPU early in 2009??? In fact I think I (and others) will repeat similar comments to last year about too many sets......
Lets hope for some 'different' costumes, props and autos to keep the interest going.......... and lets hope that our wallets are able to cope!!!

Quick update for people -
gizzie-2008 - this account has been suspended (after they had also listed an ultimate premium Indiana Jones signed card!)
The actual seller who I'm having the problems with, has now made their feedback private - to me (personal opinion) that is always slightly suspicious. I will name them now I think - Selina1664. Again I hope that my suspicions will be proven totally unfounded and wrong, but I'm not holding my breath.
I have to agree with what people have written - the good far far outweigh the bad. Perhaps there should be a way to recognize the good sellers of cards etc (from all countries).
Can I thank everyone for their advice - especially Roz and Cindy. This site/forum is a great vehicle for airing issues and thoughts.
Take care all RichT

General Stuff / Ebay and Paypal quibbles/problems / Concern over seller (s)
|
on: April 01, 2008, 02:42:53 AM

Hi to one and all. Just wanted to issue a word of warning / concern about a seller. I do not want to be confrontational so will not name the seller in question, but I think it is fair to state which country - Australia. At the start of March some listings appeared on and they looked really good - the seller had very good feedback (nothing to cause concern). I (and a good friend) bid on several items. The Harry Potter items were all high end autographs - Triple, Quad, Dan, Emma, and Rupert. I won the 2 items that I had bid on , made the payments through paypal and have waited......... Since that time the seller has (I found out today after communication from another concerned buyer) offered a second chance offer to the next highest bidder, AND listed the same items again. The alarm bells started to ring at this point. Now either this person has 3 or 4 Triple POA auto cards, and at least the same of all of the other top end HP cards in which case good luck to them in selling them or it would appear to be a scam. Since the sales of these cards - none of the high order auto cards (not just HP - also Buffy, X-Files etc) have had any feedback - Alarm bells ringing!!!! I have now posted claims through ebay and paypal as I am extremely concerned. It appears that I will be covered through paypal (thankfully!) My friend has done likewise. Here is my warning ------ today it has come to my notice that another seller (from the same place, using the same wording and pictures on their auctions) has listed the very similar items. Please tread very carefully - as they are a brand new seller, so the paypal cover is only upto £150. I really hope that I can post on here soon that I have received my cards and all is well - I am just extremely fearful that will not be the case. Take care all - RichT

General Stuff / Ebay and Paypal quibbles/problems / Re: Novel packaging
|
on: August 07, 2007, 06:45:33 PM

Think I might be able to top that today! - Ages ago I won an auction for the set of autographs from Chamber of Secrets - 10 cards if I am right! - Came back from holiday to a customs demand for £41 - somewhat bemused I paid and the parcel arrived today. Bearing in mind it was for 10 cards - the box would have fitted an album full of cards - overkill - still confused I opened the box The cards were inside a plastic bag and then the protective packaging was...... extra plastic bags! - Reason for the customs charge was that the price placed on the info for customs (I know lets pluck a figure from the air!!!! - Thanks!) was twice the amount that I actually paid AND postage I was charged was $30! (may have been more! - did express shock at the time) For 10 cards!!! - Don't think I will be doing business with them again!!! So a deal that started as a really good one when you throw in the charges etc was not so great. The one major plus is that the cards were fine.....

Lord of the Rings / The Prancing Pony / Re: Alan Lee signing
|
on: April 24, 2007, 10:37:35 PM
|
|
Hi, Report on the signing.... the venue was a small hall in the depths of the Cotswolds, the turn out on the preview evening (Friday) was I guess around 60 - 100 people. There was work by 2 other artists (Ted Nasmith and Ruth Lacon) inspired by the stories of Tolkien. Alan Lee seemed like a fantastic gentleman, he was more than happy to sign books and even illustrated in my two deluxe copies for me. One was of an elf like lady ( based on a very attractive person who was there!) and the other was of the helmet from the cover of the book. Awesome! So I was very happy as I left. I did also hear that Alan Lee happily signed and illustrated a few books the next day also. Hope this gives a taste of the evening. If anyone wants to see the images please let me know and I will email them across to you. Best RichT
