Harry Potter / Diagon Alley / Re: I Have *Every* Harry Potter AUTO Card on eBay Right Now! (3 Days Left)

Hey Greg.
I'm really sorry to hear about this, but I am delighted to see some of the variations you have! Like the FILTCH variation in his auto! I wish you'd wanted to share them with us before, rather than waiting for circumstances like this.
I apologize for not sharing. I had shown the image privately to a couple collectors, but to tell you the truth, I learn so much from reading the Yak that I just assumed that everyone here already knew about this variation. It always seems that I get information here first, and I never figured I knew or had something that other people didn't (not to mention I had purchased it on eBay, so I thought that a lot of people had probably seen it already). I should know better than to assume, and I am sincerely sorry. I really am sad over this whole thing, and I am already experiencing separation anxiety (even though I still have the cards). It's so weird, because I know my family has to come first, so this is for the greater good, but I am going to miss these cards so much! I hope to start in again within a year though!!! Cheers, Greg

Trading cards / Card Trading section / AUTOS: Star Wars, Alias, Battlestar, X-Men, X3, Bond & MORE on eBay -2 Days Left

on: June 16, 2007, 12:45:47 PM

I have some great Autograph (and some costume) cards up on eBay right now, and a lot of stuff ends in just 2 days! I do have some complete series up there (but I'm selling the stuff separately), and some rare variations too. Some examples: Star Wars AOTC (every card except Yoda) Kevin Kline from Wild Wild West Roger Moore from The Saint LOTR (every AUTO and Costume from *every* set) Roger Moore from Bond (Live and Let Die) Classic Battlestar Galactica (complete set of AUTOs and Costumes) Potter (every AUTO from PoA through MM) X-Men (first film) X-Men 3 **And I'm sure I'm forgetting something, so be sure and check out my auctions! Of note, the postal rate calculator on eBay might be off (it's happened to me before, even though I know I put in the correct weight). Just know that I don't believe in making money off postage fees, so I will only charge *actual* shipping costs plus a very small handling fee of $1.50 - no matter if you buy 1 card or 100. I only ship via Global Priority and Global Express (for people outside the USA), seeing as how I want to have a tracking number just in case something was to ever happen (however unlikely it may be - it just makes me feel better). I ship via Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation for those people inside the U.S. To make sure that you are charged the correct postal rate, please wait for me to send you an invoice before paying for anything you've won. Here's the link to my auctions... http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-1751-2978-71/1?AID=5463217&PID=1738318&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.com%2F_W0QQsassZkeyser_soze%21QQhtZ-1QQfrppZ50QQfsopZ1QQfsooZ1QQrdZ0I hope I have some stuff that people need! Take care, and good luck! Cheers, Greg Hanson

Lord of the Rings / Mount Doom / I Have *Every* LOTR - AUTO & COSTUME Card on eBay Right Now! (2 Days Left)
|
on: June 16, 2007, 04:03:05 AM

Fellow Yakkers, It pains me to do this, but I have put up all of my (personal collection) Lord of the Rings AUTO and Costume cards on the bay (EVERY card from ALL series). I have over $14,000 in credit card debt, so I am going to have to temporarily go on hiatus from the hobby. My wife and I haven't been able to figure out any other way to eliminate the debt, so almost all my trading cards are going (not just LOTR, but Potter and much more). I will return to the hobby one day and buy everything back, which is what really hurts. I fear I will have to pay even more to get my stuff back! :'( There are only 2 days left on my auctions, so please check them out. I have broken up each and every set and I have a couple cool variations in there too. Harry Potter / Old Diagon Alley / CoS and MM Case Incentive Card auctions started (& this will be it for a while!)
|
on: January 17, 2007, 04:31:09 PM
|
Hi, all! I just put up the last bunch of Harry Potter cards that I will be auctioning for now. I have two very different Chamber of Secrets Ci1 Pyjamas cards up there, as well as a super cool Ci2 - Hermione Cauldron. I also have a Memorable Moments 2-case incentive gold coin set up there as well (please don't mind the picture - the coins really are a super bright yellowish-GOLD in-person). There are some miscellaneous costume cards up there too if anyone needs anything. The case incentive card auctions are all starting at 99 cents each and have no reserves! Oh, and I fixed the postal rate calculator on my auctions to reflect the real price for shipping. The price that was given before (for overseas) was too high, and I didn't catch what went wrong until it was too late. I apologize for anyone who had seen my past auctions and thought to themselves, "Is this guy crazy?!". Here is the link to my auctions: http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZkeyser_soze!QQhtZ-1QQfrppZ50QQfsopZ1QQfsooZ1QQrdZ0Take care, and thanks for looking, Greg P.S. I'm sorry I'm a little late, but here's the breakdown for my five cases. This is my first time keeping track of my boxes, and this is the first time I have opened so many cases. I didn't bother to keep track of the Box Toppers or any of the R1-R9 cards since I didn't think that they would be all that important on the grand scheme of things. If I did the wrong thing by not making note of those, then somebody please let me know. After all was said and done, and I didn't get a full set of autos for myself (I was missing Moaning Myrtle, so I went the eBay route).

Harry Potter / Old Diagon Alley / Chamber of Secrets Auctions Ending SOON! Some Great VARIATIONS and Lots More!
|
on: December 30, 2006, 11:38:01 AM
|
I have some CoS auctions that end on the 30th, while some of my other auctions don't end until New Year's Day. I have some nice autos, props, and costumes up as I write this. In fact, I am auctioning off: 8 of the 10 Autos and redemptions... All 9 of the FilmCards... 16 of the 17 Costume cards... 7 of the 10 Prop cards... And more... I do have some nice variations up there too! I also have some cards with super low serial numbers (003, 006, 010, etc.). I started all the auctions at just 99cents, and none of them have reserves. In fact, some items don't have any bids yet, so be sure to check them out! Here's the link to my auctions: http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZkeyser_soze!QQhtZ-1QQfrppZ50QQfsopZ1QQfsooZ1QQrdZ0Thanks for any interest in my auctions, and in the meantime, here's a few examples of the types of cards I'm offering (I'm sorry the scans are so bad - my scanner isn't doing so well these days): Good luck, and happy bidding! Best, Greg

Harry Potter / Chamber of Secrets Set / Re: Card quality
|

Overall, I too am disappointed with the quality of the cards. The printing is fairly nice, but many are off-cut, as Tower has said. Most of my inserts came with rubbed corners as well, and I wouldn't classify any of them as true mint. Near mint to mint maybe, but 100% perfect, no. I always handle my stuff with extreme care, and yet to someone else, it might look like I was rough on them. I hope Artbox will hear our pleas for the return of mint product inside our packs! Those of you who know me know that I only collect the autos and sell off the costumes and props to help pay for my auto habit. I know I cannot get as much as I would need out of the props and costumes with cards in conditions like this. And not only are the autos now getting a bit dinged too, but the redemption cards as well! Since the actor never held the redemption card in his/her hand, I'd like to hear Artbox come up with an excuse for why those are anything less than perfect. Something thick like a costume or prop might be one thing, but a single, "regular thickness" card? Absurd!

Harry Potter / Harry Potter: Memorable Moments / Re: MM scans and comments

Great stuff, guys! Thanks so much for sharing. I was a little bummed to not get a Jason Isaacs or Maggie Smith auto, but at least I pulled a Watson. The pen she used sucks on mine too though. Did she sign any with a good, fresh pen?
Here's a thought: I wonder if Artbox issued another Hotbox in this series? I hope someone here gets it!
Keep up with the great pulls,
Greg

Harry Potter / Old Diagon Alley / Have new Memorable Moments Prop/Costume/Auto Cards on eBay w/ No Reserves! 3-Day
|
on: October 27, 2006, 01:09:20 PM

Hey, gang! Well, I have some great MM cards up on eBay right now that just started a few hours ago. The auctions are only running for 3 days, so be sure and check 'em out before they're gone. My eBay name is " keyser_soze! " or you can just click on this link: http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZkeyser_soze!QQhtZ-1QQfrppZ50QQfsopZ1QQfsooZ1QQrdZ0Oh, and since my last go-round, with the help of fellow Yakkers, I am happy to say that Global Express will NOT be mandatory as it was before. Global Express was super pricey, but it seemed to be the only way to track stuff overseas. Because of recent PayPal problems, I definitely wanted proof that the stuff I sent got to where it was supposed to go. Since then, it has been proven that Global Priority will work in much the same way, AND it's tons cheaper. Definitely good news! I do have some cool stuff up there including some really nice variants. All cards pictured are the ACTUAL cards being offered. I do not believe in using stock photos for cards as unique as these. Here's a few examples of what I have up on eBay (more cards might be listed later today so keep checking back):

Harry Potter / Old Diagon Alley / Re: Fleur's Wand Card and other HP Prop/Costume Cards on eBay w/ No Reserves!

I personally love Global Priority and it is much cheaper than Express, but I argued on the phone with a PayPal rep about this very subject - they said they will NOT accept the Global Priority number as proof. I guess the number doesn't go under the same scrutiny as the Express one? Was I given misinformation? Have other people spoken with PayPal about this? I would love to find out in case I was told wrong. I really don't want to force people to use Global Express if I can help it. It's way too pricey. The US Post Office will not provide tracking or insurance for Global Priority and Airmail Letter Post. You can get those services only with Global Express and Airmail Parcel Post, both of which are expensive. I called the 800 number for the Post Office to ask about this and was told the Global Priority and Airmail Letter Post are basically document delivery services, even though you can ship small/lightweight items. Since the post office considers that "paper" has no value, it won't allow tracking and insurance for those shipping methods. Last week, I used PayPal to pay for Global Priority shipping to Canada (it was a variable weight package). I was shocked to see that tracking info was generated based on the label number. It said that the package left the country through O'Hare in Chicago and gave a date and time. I think that's as far as the tracking will go, but I'll be keeping an eye on it. If it does end up tracking through to delivery, I'll ship all of my overseas packages that way. Keep us posted. If there ends up being proof of delivery with that number, I will definitely go back to PayPal and raise a stink about it. Of course, that doesn't help me on the current auctions... - Greg

Wow, I am still in shock over the end price! At least it makes me feel a little better about selling it now though. Like I said on one of my first posts, I have decided to just stick with the auto cards. I can't imagine all the other expensive cards I would have still needed if I continued in the costume and prop card areas (like the other 3 wand cards from GoFU, for instance). - Greg

I have sent cards before overseas via Global Priority that can be tracked for about 10-12 U.S. dollars with the flat rate envelopes, but they weren't insured though. Global Express however is much more pricey, but i've experienced that Global Priority is really reliable and pretty quick as well!

Well... I put up the last of my card auctions tonight. I do have other extra cards somewhere, but everything I have up now will be it for a while. If any of you are into auto cards from Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, or X-Men, please check out my latest additions. I also have a couple miscellaneous things like San Diego Comic Con exclusive Frankenstein sketch cards by Cat Staggs and another by an artist whose name eludes me. There's also a Benchwarmer dual auto up there, as well as a Batman Cape costume card. Quite a few random things, I admit... Anyway, thanks again guys for having a look. Maybe you'll find something you've been wanting; there are now 111 items up there in total. I started out all the auctions at only 99 cents and there are NO RESERVES on anything! Once again, my eBay name is " keyser_soze! " or you can click this link: http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZkeyser_soze!QQhtZ-1I will post some sample photos below... Take care, Greg

Hi Greg, I thought I should let you know there seems to be something funny that has appeared on your auctions. I am watching (and drooling ) over most of them but in my Ebay it has now come up that the postage is over $27 for one card! I can understand that type of postage if the card costs $500 but on cheaper cards . Anyway I thought I would let you know as this will put off many buyers. Yeah, this is a definite problem, and I do realize that I will lose tons of bids. The thing is, I guess it's better for me to lose a few bids (and a little bit of potential money) than to lose out all together. I know that sounds weird, so please allow me to explain... The postage is fairly cheap for Americans (I live in the US), but anyone outside the USA would have to pay an exorbitant shipping fee for Global Express, and I wish this wasn't the case. You see, I will only use Global Express nowadays, and this service is bloody expensive. I am sorry that the price is so high (that's the US Post Office's fault), but it is the ONLY way for Americans to ship packages to other countries with a tracking number that PayPal will accept as proof. I have been forced to ship this way due to recent scams where someone gets the card and then claims they never did so they can get a full refund from PayPal. The money is then taken away from me and I am out the card and money as well (I'm even out the postage fees as PayPal takes that back too). I do understand that the shipping price ends up kind of high (of course) for only one card. The more cards you win, the cheaper it will essentially become, but if someone abroad is interested in a cheap card, you are right - I probably won't get their bid due to this high shipping rate. However, at least Global Express is extremely reliable, ultra fast, and secure! I hope you can understand my predicament. It really concerns me because I don't want people to think I am gouging them (again, I don't set the rates - the US Postal Service does), but I have been left with little choice and therefore have to use this service. I know that a package can be legitimately lost from time to time, but it seems that since people have gotten wind of PayPal's policy, they now have a license to steal. I had a huge number of claims come through in a single month, whereas in the past, I had months without a single claim. Something seems fishy here. Again, without proof of delivery (such as a tracking number that PayPal will accept), I am totally screwed. All I am trying to do is protect myself. I have a large amount of money into these cards, and I really don't want to lose it just because someone feels he/she are entitled to "free" cards. It seems it takes a small amount of people that can ruin it for everybody. On the plus side, if someone was to end up winning one or more valuable cards, then I'm sure they will agree that it is well worth the security of sending stuff via Global Express. Stuff gets there without a hitch, and super quickly, I might add (within about 3 or 4 days to most areas of the world). I am not trying to complain or sound bitter above, but I do realize an explanation was due. I know I could have just held auctions that only Americans could bid on, but that didn't seem fair either. The whole thing just sucks. I sincerely hope that people won't hold it against me. I really didn't know what else to do. Best, Greg
