Given what we know about the sorcer's stone, which do we think is the best? My vote is for the original.

I was looking in the price guide at the number of each update auto sold and there was some interesting trends.

Harry - 20 sales
Ron - 24 Sales
Tripple - 28 sales
Filch - 32 sales
Watson - 36 sales
Percy - 36 sales
Duel - 38 sales
Crabb - 40 sales
Dudley - 47 sales
Choir Conductor - 60 sales
Pansy - 61 Sales
Stan - 61 Sales

Does this means that the tripple auto is as rare as we think? If there are only 50 that would mean more than half have been sold.

As a comparison, if we take Crabb - and assume that there are 250 cards world wide that means only about 15% have been sold on ebay. Does this mean people are predominantly collecting this set and holding the cards?

After plenty of sagas my case finally arrived - I was very tempted to just sell the boxes but the lure of was just too great - and I was very pleased.

Feel very lucky given the other breakdowns I have seen.

I think that is really cool and would work well - you could also hook the contents into the price guide and give the case breakdown a "value" - although given the case breakdowns people are reporting this might end up being on the depressing side.

Not sure how practical it is, but would it be worth including a box/case breakdown section in the price guide with a summary analysis?

When the first set came out I tracked the "Big 4" fairly closely - unfortunately I didn't keep auction ids or dates so I haven't included them in the database but the figures were as follows.

Granger Auto - Up to the 25th of May - Avg Price 360 - 11 cards
Sirius Auto - Up to the 6th of June - Avg Price 151 - 12 cards
Dubledore Auto  - Up to the 6th of June - Avg Price 108 -11 cards
Lupin Auto - Up to 6th of June - Avg Price 85 - 11 cards

It looks like the Lupin card is the only one to greatly increase its price up to around the 130 mark. Given that there were only between 100 - 150 of these made I thought a greater variation may have been expected. If the trend continues then the Harry, Ron and Hermonie cards will probably even out pretty quickly.

The Price Guide is Fantastic!

Roz and Mark - a very BIG thank you for all the work and effort you have put in - the site looks fantastic! This is going to end up being an invaluable resource!

There has been months of debate about this set - now that it is out it would be interesting to see what people think.

As a bit of a reference the Weasley Quiditch robe was down around the $20 - $25 a month after the first set was released. I think this is a set to wait a little before buying up. With the big three autos I think the box prices will remain strong but probably the bigger winner will be the first set because more people will start trying to complete their first sets.

23 Costume cards is going to be a real killer - I am still trying to get all the catwoman costume cards and there are only 14 of them! Looks like this set might top the first.
