1  Trading cards / The Yak Shack Trading Card PRICE GUIDE discussion area / Re: Price Guide Prices on: April 27, 2012, 07:33:13 PM
I still check. I am always looking for a good variant... who me?
Somday I may even have a collection worth bragging about.  Grin
What are you talking about!?!  Shocked
You already HAVE a collection worth bragging about!!!  Roll Eyes  Tongue Grin
You're not called 'The Variant King' for nuthin'  ROFL!

Welcome to the Yak Shack Ady!   Grin
Understanding spouses are definitely worth their weight in gold when it comes to collecting anything!  Wink
2  Harry Potter / Order of the Phoenix Update Set / Re: Peter Best Autograph Card DEPZ-02 on: April 27, 2012, 06:53:10 PM
And me!!  Wink
Hee hee ... 'The Fantastic Five Rides Again!'  Grin
I might not log in that often but I do still check the boards for any new stuff ...  Evil

Interesting info re. the Best auto though ... now we all know this there's not a one to be had on Fleabay!  Roll Eyes Tongue
3  Harry Potter / The Leaky Cauldron / Re: HP Deathly Hallows Part 2 Set on: June 21, 2011, 04:06:59 AM
I got an email from Kay with this info on it:

"Dear Valued Distributors,

Thank you for the wait –

HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 2 FROM ARTBOX COMING SOON!!

Details to follow for the LAST and FINAL Movie Set.

In the meantime, please feel free to contact us for any questions."

 Shocked
I gather this set will be the last one as they no longer have the license ... or has that situation changed does anyone know?
4  Harry Potter / Prisoner of Azkaban Artbox Update set / Re: POAU Harry/Daniel Radcliffe auto -- possible fake on: December 30, 2010, 01:40:43 AM
Excellent outcome Tony - thanks for passing on the good news!  Grin

Re: the Hermione auto - I'm with Sara on this one ... it looks absolutely fine to me too and I must say, it's a really nice example of one of her autograph ... you've got a 'keeper' there!  Wink
*phew* thank goodness there's been a happy outcome this time around, but we'd ALL do well to keep an eye on this particular seller and also to remain vigilant in calling each other's attention to cards we think might not be as they should be.  Wink
5  Harry Potter / The Deathly Hallows Part 1 / Re: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 scans and comments thread on: December 30, 2010, 12:59:00 AM
ROFL! yeah, the Oldman autos are dire and as for her not liking the cards she's given to sign - well, I'm sure she was paid enough to put pen to card so the 'liking' part of it isn't important!
What's worse is the amount people are having to pay to get her auto - ridiculous!  Shocked Angry
6  Harry Potter / The Deathly Hallows Part 1 / Re: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 scans and comments thread on: December 25, 2010, 06:08:07 PM
Clemence Poesy's auto has to be one of the worst in the history of Potter cards. She ought to be ashamed to pass this off as a signature. Artbox should have chucked it back at her.
Couldn't agree more with you on this one - truly dreadful!  Hopping Mad

Maybe shes just a bad writer?  Roll Eyes
Nope, just lazy.
She's signed before & those autos look nothing like what she'd done this time around.  Roll Eyes Angry
7  Harry Potter / Prisoner of Azkaban Artbox Update set / Re: POAU Harry/Daniel Radcliffe auto -- possible fake on: December 22, 2010, 09:06:12 PM
Another comment like that Julie and i may kick you up the bottom Tongue
Oi! I'm only calling it like it is John!  Wink [Heh, you'd have to have long l-o-o-o-o-ng legs to make that kick too!  Tongue]
I've read too many times of over-long waits on cards being returned & given how expensive/rare some of these have been, is it any wonder collectors are somewhat wary of returning them for verification?
Those of us in the UK will always be at a disadvantage on issues like this purely because of distance.  Sad

Thanks for the Ebay ID of this seller Cindy ... I'll go and have a look at what they've been up to!  Crewman
(@ John - geononsports was certainly one of the good guys in card trading - we need a few more like him on Ebay.  Wink)
8  Harry Potter / The Deathly Hallows Part 1 / Re: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 scans and comments thread on: December 22, 2010, 08:44:55 AM

Really lovely variants again John!!  Grin
9  Harry Potter / Prisoner of Azkaban Artbox Update set / Re: POAU Harry/Daniel Radcliffe auto -- possible fake on: December 22, 2010, 08:36:40 AM
:'( Thanks Cindy ... I'm sorry to have this confirmed as he was one of the good sellers on Ebay ...  :'(

Oh my, how long d'you think it would take Kay et al to examine & return your card if you sent it over for them to check it? Roll Eyes Tongue ROFL!
We're still waiting to hear more re. the Mad-eye autos which never seems to materialise ... perhaps we ought to write to his son to get him to give his Dad a boot up the rear to get these bl00dy cards signed!  Tongue  Evil
10  Harry Potter / Prisoner of Azkaban Artbox Update set / Re: POAU Harry/Daniel Radcliffe auto -- possible fake on: December 21, 2010, 03:58:49 AM
Was the seller geononsports?  If so, he died last summer.
Is this true?  Shocked
The reason I ask is that I bought from this seller in July of this year!
Admittedly I haven't bought from them since then but a check on their Ebay ID shows they left f/b for buyers in Sept & rec'd f/b from buyers in Oct of this year and all were card sales.
I've long since thrown out the packaging but as far as I can recall, it had his return address info on the outside as normal.
Is it possible another family member is continuing to use his a/c?

As for the fake Dan autos - definitely sends a shudder down my spine reading about this!  Hopping Mad
He has to have one of the consistently messy autos I've ever come across which makes his cards an easy target for forgery. The big giveaway on the one John posted (Card 1) was the pen used to sign the name - even at his messiest Dan uses a fine tipped pen to sign his cards whereas Card 1 looked like it'd been signed with a yardbrush!  Roll Eyes
'Constant Vigilance!' and either buying/pulling the cards from your own boxes or buying from sellers whose integrity you trust.

Glad to hear a refund has been offered although I wouldn't be too happy returning something I have good reason to believe is fake so that this seller can offer it for sale again.
Still, hope you get the money ASAP!  Wink
11  General Stuff / About the forum / Re: New Ranking for Ms. Rosalind on: August 28, 2010, 07:32:12 PM
If you've friended her on Facebook, you just might find some details and pictures.  Wink
Ahhhh, then that would be why I've no clue about any of this - I'm not on Facebook any longer and haven't been for well over a year now.  Sad
*sighs*
12  General Stuff / About the forum / Re: New Ranking for Ms. Rosalind on: August 28, 2010, 12:29:29 AM
I think the newly created Mrs.Stickley should zero out and start again  ROFL! Miss Turner is no more.

Congrats to Roz and Mark  Grin
What!?!  Shocked
When? Shocked Shocked

Ros-a-lind!! I think you have 'something' to tell us!  Roll Eyes Tongue

Congrats to the newly-marrieds!  Grin Kiss
13  Harry Potter / Diagon Alley / Re: Rare Harry Potter Cards up for auction---almost full PoA master set on: June 01, 2010, 05:29:13 PM
What options and how much will they be to ship any of your cards internationally please?
14  Harry Potter / Heroes & Villains / Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villians Set on: May 15, 2010, 03:22:51 AM
Wowsers!! Not leaving much time to save-up for it are they!?  Roll Eyes Undecided Sad
I'm with Tower - definitely need more info on the autos plus the rest of the inserts.  Tongue
15  Harry Potter / Diagon Alley / Re: The time has come... on: May 02, 2010, 01:49:17 AM
Oooooooo Nooooooooo!!!  Shocked Sad :'( :'(

I can't yell you how much your post saddens me to read Jackie  :'( :'( :'(
Of course your kids take priority over everything else, yes even cards(!) and I honestly think that if you're seriously considering offering them for sale, then now is the time to do it before the final films are released and in-between set releases.  Wink

I echo Roz's sentiments over seeing your variants once more and perhaps being lucky enough to snag the odd one or two (if I'm lucky! Roll Eyes), so when you're ready, please give us the nod on here, okay?
Obviously it would be better for you to try and sell them away from ebay and their hideous fees, but then again, I'm sure that many of the cards from the earlier sets will fetch mega-$$$ if offered on Ebay.

BIG hugs to ya Jackie and I'm just sorry things have turned out this way for ya'll.  :'(

@ Sara ... no comment!!  Roll Eyes ROFL!

*hands John a cabbage*  Tongue
16  The YakShack Complete Your Collection Event October 16-18, 2009 / Super special stuff wanted / Re: motivated buyer--rare card want list on: April 24, 2010, 02:03:30 AM
hmmmmmmm yes, now that you mention it, it has sold on Ebay more recently ... no longer than 18 months ago - not 100% sure who the buyer was though, I have the idea that perhaps Marlon bought it and sold it on?
All I can remember was that I was miffed at missing the card when it came up for grabs this last time around as I'm fairly sure it sold as a b-i-n and well under price too!  Hopping Mad
Hey ho, that's just how it goes ...  Tongue
17  The YakShack Complete Your Collection Event October 16-18, 2009 / Super special stuff wanted / Re: motivated buyer--rare card want list on: April 23, 2010, 04:23:58 AM
Heh heh yep, that's the one Rich and yes, I DO remember that particular swatch - the confusion over the medieval-style letters 'B' and 'W'!!  Wink  ROFL!
Wonder who owns it now?
Sadly, I can't remember who had it when we first talked about it though, so I don't know if that card now resides in a Yak Shacker's collection or not.  Undecided
Congrats on your recent acquisitions Rich - you found some really nice swatches on those cards! Smiley

Fabulous cards Rich - congrats on getting them!! Grin Grin Grin
19  Harry Potter / Diagon Alley / Re: Viktor Krum Wand Incentive Bird-head Variant (28/28) on: April 16, 2010, 04:13:23 AM
Beautiful card Jon - I remember you getting it from the SDCC too! *sighs*  Wink
I'd be soooooo upset if I had to sell this card as it really IS special and I'm sad to hear that you have to let it go Jon.  :'(
Hopefully it will find a new home in another private collector and be the showcase card in their collection.  Wink Grin
20  Harry Potter / Diagon Alley / Re: My first attempt at Harry Potter Auctions on: March 06, 2010, 08:39:33 PM
Hi Alan,
I chanced across your listings yesterday without realising it was you!!  Roll Eyes ROFL!
All your auctions are set to US-only and I wanted to know if you'll ship them internationally please?

Thanks!  Wink
