1  Trading cards / Trading card sets / Re: Star Wars 30th Anniversary Topps Set on: August 16, 2007, 06:44:02 PM
Ok. Here's some scans/photo's.

This haul came from 3 cases. I also got a second Hickman Wringwraith, I mean Jawa. 12 auto cards including two R2D2s in one box and 5 gold cards.

Sketch wise i think this is the best break anyone has had. I realise I'm extremely lucky as the ratio of sketch inserts is seriously skewded.

To get two Kayanans in one case is unbelievable. I got the one and was amazed when I opened the last box in the case and got another my jaw hit the floor!

Hi All

Just to clarify. It was me who pulled the two kayanans and they were from the same case.

Hi

It is possible to collect from PF depot on a Saturday. They're normally open till 12:30. So If you've had an attempted delivery and they've left a card you can collect yourself. No £12 fee.

Hi All

Sorry I didn't describe these a bit better. I assumed everyone had seen them before. Anyway Nienna has done a wonderful job of describing them.
They are a really nice set. Back when they first came out they were selling at around £80-£100 a set on ebay. I saw a set a few weeks ago at £45 BIN.

Hopefully below are pictures of the figures Praying

Just a heads up to any of you hoping to meet Christopher Lee. Apparently he is only going to sign for 400 people. One auto each. This info comes from the UK Garrison web site. If this is correct there is going to be a big rush for tickets.

So good luck to you all.  Smiley
9  www.TheYakShack.co.uk / Film, Music & TV / For anyone watching 'Invasion' on: May 25, 2006, 10:31:40 PM
Found out to my great disappointment this week that ABC has axed Invasion after one season. Although the series has taken time to really pick up pace the last few episodes have been excellent. The final episode was a great cliffhanger. Now we'll never know what was going to happen.

An online petition has been started here to have the series continueed. It already has nearly 20,000 signatures. Don't know if it will do any good but there's no harm trying!

http://www.petitiononline.com/33030/petition.html

If you have been watching go and sign it. If you haven't then sign it anyway and watch the series when it repeats.

10  Lord of the Rings / The Prancing Pony / Re: What's the chances of this?! on: May 20, 2006, 11:42:09 PM
It wasn't really a moan Roz. I was over the moon to do so well. I realise only 50% of the boxes had two autos in so to get four boxes is damn lucky.
I was more surprised. If the autos are randomly inserted the the chances of this happening are quite slim, but if there is some sort of order to the packing of the boxes maybe its more than just chance. Just wandered what other peoples experiences had been.
11  Lord of the Rings / The Prancing Pony / What's the chances of this?! on: May 20, 2006, 11:25:10 PM
I recently splashed out on 4 boxes of FOTR cards. US Hobby release.

All four boxes had two auto cards in. No complaints there.  Grin

However one of the autos in each box was a Sam/Sean Astin card. Couldn't believe it. Four Sam's.   Sad  Was really hoping for more of a variety.
I also got two Galadriels, one Frodo and an Arwen.
Can anyone remember back to when these came out, was it usual for the boxes containing two auto's to have at least one Sam in them? I vaguely remember the only box I got with two auto's in was a Frodo and Sam.
12  General Stuff / Ebay and Paypal quibbles/problems / Re: Postal insurance sucks and so does paypal on: April 13, 2006, 02:33:07 AM
Just for your info folks. Netramble's latest account 'makethe$' is no longer registered on Ebay.

I had problems getting the money out of him for his last auction. I gave ten days to pay on my auction. On day 11 I  emailed him to ask him to pay or I'd issue a non paying bidder alert. I got a reply saying he had overspent on his credit card and would pay me on April 1st! Do they do April 1st in Japan? Anyway April 2nd came round no payment. Sent email and eventually got payment 3rd April (6 days late, 16 days after the auction finished). As with last time he made demands on not declaring the value of the goods for customs. Ive filled in full value and made sure I got a certificate of postage.

He's since emailed me saying his accounts suspended and he doesn't know why. I think he thinks I reported him. I didn't. Maybe someone else has.

Anyway watch out for any bids from Japan from a guy called Shuji. He seems particularly fond of James Bond items.

Just a head up folks. Netramble is back. His new id is

 'makethe$'

He re-registered on 3rd March. Has a feedback of 6.

He's just won a George Lazenby auto card off of me. So I'm hoping there will be no problems.
16  General Stuff / Ebay and Paypal quibbles/problems / Re: Postal insurance sucks and so does paypal on: March 12, 2006, 02:18:14 AM
Sorry to hear about your problems and hope you resolve them satisfactorily.

I have dealt with this buyer twice.

Once as netramble and then as 1234shuz his new identity. He has now closed this account with only 3 feedback. All the items he bought of me were auto cards. The second transaction was over £80 for three cards. I sent him an invoice suggesting he took insurance. He replied in a very blunt manner. He stated he didn't want insurance as he didn't want to pay import duties and as such I shouldn't put more than $50 on the customs form. (Asking me to break the law). Also that I shouldn't include any form of paperwork in with the cards for instance ebay packing slip. I guess so that if customs opened there would be no way of discerning the value. I just sent the cards as I usually do and made sure I got a certificate of postage. It sounds like I may have had a lucky escape.

Looking at his feedabck he's had 19 negs in one year. 4 or 5 for Darren at the Collectorzone.

Just found the message from him on my Paypal account:

Hello, This is Shuji. I do not want to pay IMPORT TAX !!! Please check below ====NOTICE==== #1 Do NOT send receipt, invoice, sales slip of credit card or other documents ( ex, copy of ebay auction page, copy of our mail, etc) with our item!! #2 Do NOT send items with your price tags!! #3 PLEASE DECLARE AS $50.00 GOOD(S), IF YOU HAVE TO DECLARE FOR INT'L SHIPPING. #4 Please care this items, Protect from DAMAGE !! Thanks for your cooperation.

Anyway his business is Movie Master Japan if he crops up again on ebay.

17  Trading cards / Trading card sets / Re: ABC's LOST trading card set from Inkworks on: January 31, 2006, 04:42:09 AM
My last lot of redemptions were posted on the 20th Jan. This time they were sent back via DHL couriers. I had a card put through my door today, so I'll pick them up tomorrow.
The redemptions were 3 regular Lost auto's and one auto'd pieceworks plus a couple of X-files auto redemptions.
It would appear that the greater the value of your redemptions the more care is taken with returning your cards.  My last lot came global priority and my Shannon auto just came in a bubble mailer regular air mail.
18  Trading cards / Trading card sets / Re: ABC's LOST trading card set from Inkworks on: January 26, 2006, 04:44:10 AM
I sent in 4 redemptions via Airsure from the UK. They took 6 days to get there arriving on Mon 9th Jan. I had them back by Friday the same week. Inkworks sent them back out the same day nicely packed and mailed in a Global priority envelope.

Thanks for all the advice people.

I hadn't thought of photo copying them as a record. Nice idea.

I thought about insurance. As mentioned a high value draws attention to the item. Another thought I had was if a high value is used for insurance would there be any import duty to pay as the value would have to be reflected on the customs form?
