I have all of my CaTCF for sale, although I'm not sure what the number is on each card.

I too am disappointed by the rapid drop in value of the Catcf cards. I've got all the autos (inc Depp), Charlies sweater, wrapping paper prop card and a whole host of the other prop/costume cards, but they are just sitting in a protected box in the loft, purely because, although I don't want them, I can't bring myself to selling them on ebay and losing a lot of cash.

At least I've learned from my mistake.

Hello all,

I have a full set of the Auto cards, each nicely kept inside a card protector. The problem is, I no longer want them, or any of my other Charlie Chocolate cards (few costumes, few props (including wrapping paper)).

The reason for this is that I've decided to focus more on my comic collection, and also dabble in a couple of chess sets...which are not cheap!

If I list these cards on ebay, should I list them as a set, singles or what (or should I just hold on to em, and one day in the far future sell them) ?

I know that investment wise, these cards pretty much bombed, but I don't really want to sell them for too much of a loss.

Opinions ?

Has everyone lost interest in these cards now ? I've been looking on ebay and can't find any auctions that have finished with a bidder.

I have a full set of the autos and was thinking about moving them on, as I'm moving into Simpsons collecting Cheesy

but it just seems that everyone has forgotten about them.

I've decided to just bite the bullet and pay both lots of the Customs charges, after working it out I'm paying £14 more then I should, but I just can't be bothered with all the hassle to change it...afterall, I am getting a rather nice set of muppet figures which I will try to post a picture of once they are on display Grin

I've always known that buying from the US over ebay is a bit of a gamble, as ifs hit or miss if you get charged with VAT, import duty etc on the more expensive items. Its just a shame that I got hit on something that cost me £290ish squid Cap'n

After hours of being on hold through the phone line, I decided to just send a cheque to Parcelforce Worldwide.

I thought that would be the end of it, but I received another letter today, and again it's another letter saying I need to pay x amount of VAT on an item imported from the US. Thing is, I think it's for the same item I've already paid for, so obviously I've sent them an email querying this.

The only thing I can think of is that the guy I bought the stuff off on ebay said he would post the lot in 2 seperate boxes. I'm guessing that he put the total value on both boxes or something and they've been seperated Hopping Mad

One things for certain, I'm not paying another lot of %17.5 VAT, otherwise I would have paid a total of 35% VAT on something that cost me £280...not nice Angry

I got charged for a huge Muppet Show action figure collection I had bought from the US which has annoyed me a bit...I may just go and live in the US, a lot cheaper Tongue

Anyways, I would have thought the cheque would be payable to Parcelforce, but something got me thinking that it would be Royal Mail Group PLC...any ideas ? (there isn't any such info on the letter I received).

I was stupid for buying them in the first place really, I was young, it was the middle of autumn, I lacked a certain focus... Tongue

Now I know what I'm going for, and thats Auto cards from films/tv eries that I like (plus as I stated, the muppet figures too).

Trying to get costumes, and props could turn out to be a tad expensive (Unfortuantly I only decided all of this after I had also shelled out for a Wrapping Paper card from Charlie Chocolate Factory) :O

I found an american site (won't list it...not sure if it's allowed or not) to buy some screwdowns from.

Bought 50 PC5 II (1 screw, normal thickness)
50 PC6 II (1 screw, thicker)
5 PC18 II (Real thick) - (Don't know how many of these types I'll use, but if my curent cards don't need them I imagine that there may be a couple in H Potter or LOTR)

& 25 4-pocket pages.

All in all it cost about $64 + $65 airmail shipping ROFL!

I shopped around a bit, and thought although the shipping spoils it a bit, it's worth it when I think of the value of some of my autos Shocked

true, my current plan is to get a couple of each and experiment.

I think I'll need to buy some of the 9 pocket screwdowns anyway, as I have some auto cards to put in them.

After that I may just buy 2 of each type and experiment with what looks good.

ie Buy;
2 x 4 pocket screwdowns,
2 x 6 pocket screwdowns,
single screwdowns (I want to try what you suggested Kelly, by putting them into a 4 pocket sleeve page).

I take it a normal single screwdown doesn't fit into 1 of the pockets on a 6 pocket sleeve ?

I don't know how much the screwdown holders weigh, but you would think that maybe the manufacturers would come up with a way to display them in a binder or something (maybe they have, I just can't find any info Tongue

)

I can rule out displaying the cards in my cabinet for the time being as I have plans for that space (ie Palisades Muppet toys still in their box...what can I say, I'm a fan ROFL!

1 more question. Is it possible to put any type of screwdowns into a binder ? I've looked at all the different variations from 9 pocket screwdowns to 1 pocket screwdowns, but I have yet to work out how you can display them in a binder (I can't see any ring holes so that you can slot it into a binder...maybe im not looking properly).

Hello, sorry if this is in the wrong secton but it doesn't have anything to do with any particular card set .

Basically, I've been using the normal 9 pocket sleeves, Ultra Pro Platinum ones to be precise to hold all of my trading cards in.

Today I was thinking about investing in some Screwdown Holders to keep my valuable cards safe as houses.

Whilst I was reading various posts about other people who bought them for Harry Potter etc I keep seeing things like "100pt card". I know this relates to the thickness of a card, but seeing as I'm going to be putting in a few Charlie Choc Factory Prop/Costume cards in the holders as well as my Autos, I kind of need to know a bit more (currently most of my prop cards were in the normal platinum pages, until I realised that with the thickness of all the cards it restricts any movement and could possibly warp some of my cards in the long term Shocked

).

So if anyone could advise me on how thick a 100pt card is I would be very greatful.
