DD is too cunning and powerful to have made charms that would fail if he expired.  I suspect they are still in place or maybe enhanced by his death.  We certainly haven't seen that last of him, he lived to be over 150, how did he manage that?! Plus he has to tell Harry the story how he got the ring.

Nah, every charm and precaustion DD made remains tight. IMHO

Dumbledore told Harry in the first book that, for the well prepared mind, death is but the next adventure.

1. The Pictures of the Headmasters can communicate easily enough AND move about the world to other pictures of the smae person. Phineas Black went to 12 Gruimmauld Place to see what was nicked, remember?  DD photo in the choclate frogs didn't hang around forever.

2. I fully believe that if Dumbldore is dead, we would have so prepared for this.  The mention of his wand not being present at his funeral and other evidence such as the nature of his reaction to the Avada Kedavra spell [All other accounts say victims crumple immed. DD flew back] could mean he is still alive, but seriously injured.  I would rather see him dead and see what preparations he made for himself, besides he could probably be more help as Voldie couldn't stop him if he was already dead.

The ring Gaunt was wearing had Slytherin's family crest I think. I wasn't cracked.  DD said he'll tell Harry the story later, probably in Book 7. As ofr him wearing it, DD may have thought it looked pretty cool *shrugs*

Picked up the book Saturday 11 am after a brutal mishap with my credit cards and an immediate canceling. I was set to pick the book up Friday and was devasted when my card declined. Anyways finished it Monday at 5pm. I took long breaks to tend to family matters and from getting headaches lol.
