1  Harry Potter / The World of Harry Potter: 3D Trading Cards / Re: World of HP: 3D card list (incomplete) on: April 06, 2007, 10:27:31 PM
I agree with kbmum. A lot of people got burned on COS and just don't want to commit before buying. Remember the phantom Julie Waters auto card. Wheres that gone? Thought it might turn up in this set like Artbox did with the GOF Unmemorable moments autograph stitch-up ( 4 unknown death-eaters and a bunch of late autos from previous sets). Also more recycled props and costume cards to boot. For the first time ever I am not buying a case of HP cards. I think Artbox have decided to suck the collector dry. I'll save a ton by going on eBay. The auto line-up at the moment is dire, bar Daniel Radcliffe, who no doubt will only be signing the rarest card by a good few miles. I probably sound a right miserable git but I only post nowadays when I smell a rat. Limited information at this late stage can mean only one thing - Run Away!!! Run to the hills...............

Yours disillusioned with the route Potter is taking, Steve ( actually normally a happy person ) Cheesy
2  Harry Potter / Chamber of Secrets Set / Re: This set is a stinker - worst Potter ever! on: January 03, 2007, 11:18:06 PM
Hi Guys, thanks for the feedback, always much appreciated. Tower is right, my subject title was a little misleading. I was just so angry with my lot I had to get out there with the emotion of the moment! I spent a lot of hard earned dosh on the cases ( as I'm sure everyone else did / has / is going to!) and am beginning to think getting cases is a really bad idea. Artbox are so predictable with collation that after a few boxes in each case I knew what was happening, and the icy hand of wasted money wretched into my Christmas expanded gut. Allender made me laugh though with his odds of getting three cases the same.Wish I could beat those odds on inserts!!! Seems I'm still paying back the luck I had on the Pear Tree leaves hey Roz! Wink
3  Harry Potter / Chamber of Secrets Set / This set is a stinker - worst Potter ever! on: January 02, 2007, 09:30:30 PM
Hi All. Sorry to start the year with bad news. Collation on this set is a stinker. Bought three cases. All three had the same inserts. Costumes, props, film cards. Someone found this out on another thread. I shall no longer collect Harry Potter cards. We all expect repeat cards in cases but not case for case. This is offically the worst Potter set ever ( at least the Wizards of the Coast set was cheap!). Hope everyone else has better luck. But with all the crud autos and inserts it probably isn't worth it if you get different cards anyway. Why were so many of the autos dropped at such short notice anyway? Because the conman had our money by then. Got loads of swaps if anyone is interested. WARNING - do not buy cases of this product!!!!!!!!

Hi All, I'll try to go if I'm not working. Gimli, are you also Cardvault? I did go to Collectormania on Saturday but didn't know was who was who.
6  Trading cards / Trading card sets / Re: Topps 2006 Superman Returns on: May 01, 2006, 07:25:18 PM
Hi Roz, I'm tempted. Some good autos there. But will probably give it a miss. Already invested in HP over the next two months and don't really fancy a pair of Brandon Routh's briefs!!
7  www.TheYakShack.co.uk / General Discussion / Collectormania on: April 30, 2006, 02:29:16 AM
Hi All, Went to Collectormania today. Had a splitting headache all morning from the excesses of the night before, but managed to have a good look around. Didn't think there was much on offer on the card front. I was after after a few boxes and the dealers don't tend to take many with them. Cardvault seemed to have the best selection of HP and LOTR Cards. Thought there may have been some Yakshackers around the stand but my beer-impaired ears were still de-waxing too much to earwig. Was it just my delicate disposition for the day or do you think a lot of people push and shoove around the crowded aisles rather rudely at these events?
8  Harry Potter / Goblet of Fire Update Trading Cards Artbox / Re: Goblet fire cases on: March 25, 2006, 10:25:08 PM
Lack of self control. Pre-ordered a case of GOFU from Potomac today. Couldn't not be around when all the opening starts. It's tantamount to gambling but what the heck!! I'm due a big pull............
9  Harry Potter / Goblet of Fire Update Trading Cards Artbox / Re: Goblet fire cases on: March 24, 2006, 02:23:20 AM
Thanks for the info guys, I'll probably pass on cases this time round if they are hard to come by. Roz, you are probably right about buying in UK being better. The old Import Tax usually turns up a few months later, and I've had few problems with TNT. You pay the bill and they keep chasing you - their accounts apartment is a shambles!
10  Harry Potter / Goblet of Fire Update Trading Cards Artbox / Goblet fire cases on: March 20, 2006, 11:26:55 PM
Hi all,

I'm a bit late on these cards, as I was waiting for content like everyone else. I'm looking for a good deal on cases in the UK ( I usually buy three ). I try to buy from Potomac but they don't seem to have any. If anyone has any ideas, or has a better deal, please let me know. Thanks, Steve

13  Harry Potter / Goblet of Fire Trading Cards from Artbox / Re: GoF Pre-Order on eBay (New Info???) on: September 29, 2005, 10:54:33 PM
I hope we get some more good autos. I've ordered a few cases and so far am very disappointed in the line up. Talking of other people signing other sets - they don't come any bigger than Charlton Heston! If Moses can sign, anyone can!!!
14  Harry Potter / Goblet of Fire Trading Cards from Artbox / Re: GoF Pre-Order on eBay (New Info???) on: September 29, 2005, 08:04:01 PM
I doubt Alan Rickman will ever sign.  Embarrassed It was because he didn't want his image on trading cards that half the 1990s Topps Robin Hood set had to be pulled. Robbie Coltrane is always moaning about people asking for his autograph so the chances of him signing are about the same. The days of a Fellowship of the Ring all encompassing auto line-up are gone. Embarrassed Even Batman Begins, with it's great effort, didn't get the man himself!
15  Trading cards / Trading card sets / Re: Batman Begins trading cards on: June 30, 2005, 04:24:39 AM
Is it just me or do a lot of the autos on these cards look pretty flakey? Seems they did not stick to the cards very well before UV coating. Liam Neeson had the right idea using a different pen!!
16  Trading cards / Trading card sets / Re: Batman Begins trading cards on: June 29, 2005, 12:51:23 AM
Bought a case of Batman Begins as they seemed so cheap. After six boxes I was sitting with a derisory five Batman's capes, a dud box and no autos. I was cursing having bought such a naff Topps product. Angry)Yet somehow I snagged a Michael Caine on my penultimate box( a massively underrated card, and the one I wanted. Smiley Having resigned myself to this single, yet cherished auto, I opened the last box. My seventh cape was looming. But then bang!!! A Gary Oldman Auto card / Batman's Costume card in one box. Suddenly the worst case ever had become the best box / best case ever!! To all those with Batman cases, don't give up - at rock bottom I found a real life portal to South London's finest!!! Wink

20  Harry Potter / Sorcerer's Stone Artbox Trading Cards / Re: I GOT MY CASES!!!! on: May 18, 2005, 08:54:37 PM
Just got in from work. The board has gone berserk!! Good job by all the guys that have opened and posted cards. Thanks for all the info! Looks like this set is a winner. Artbox are back on form. Upped my cases from 2 to 3 with excitement( the commissioner will have to pay me more overtime!). After the disappointment of update, card collecting is back at its best!
