Does anyone else think that in the extended edition of ROTK, Peter Jackson missed the chance to re-create one of the best scenes in the book........

I for one was looking forward to seeing the riders of rohan put under a spell by the voice of saruman, and gandalf tell Saruman that he'd missed his calling in life and should have been a court jester!, plus grima wormtongue throwing the palantir at gandalf and the others.....

Any thoughts?

Can anyone explain how gandalf gets his staff back from Saruman after escaping (on an eagle) from the tower of orthanc? or how gandalf (reborn as gandalf the white) gets his staff back at the end of the film after it's broken by the Witchking of Angmar? I mean do wizards just have an endless supply of these things........tucked under their long robes.....

In the film Arwen life gets linked to the fate of the ring? can anyone tell me how this is suppposed to happen? I've read lord of the rings and most of the silmarillion(god thats an odd book) and can't get it straight in my head how it happens.....................can any tolkien fans help?
