Thanks for all the replys Smiley

It does seem that the days of a busy forum have passed Sad

The good news is there is still a market for the cards - albeit less than before.

Some of the recent eBay auctions have gone for next to nothing whilst others a demanding big prices.

Do those of you who post on the forum still actively collect the prop cards etc and check eBay regularly to add to your collections?

Hi Dave,

Many thanks for the welcome.  Smiley

I feel somewhat sad that I wasn't around when the buzz first started however am excited to be part of the 'New generation' of collectors getting involved in collecting the Harry Potter line.

I have already sent my ebay prices paid across to the price guide and last night won an unopened Memorable Moments Series 2 Hobby box - I am excited about the challenge of finding rare cards and getting fully involved in the hobby and this forum.

As a bit of background on me - I spend much of my time (when not doing my 9-5 job) being involved in the wrestling figure market - I have helped unearth a number of rare items including prototypes from the 'Hasbro' era over the last few years and now also pick up rarer items produced by Mattel.

The market has died down a bit recently in terms of items I want so I always like a new collecting challenge.

I'm lucky in the fact my girlfriend is understand of my collecting obessions - I think she just puts up with it so she can buy shoes and not have me moan  Grin

I'm hoping to have a good read through the forums over the weekend

Any tips and hints you can give are always appreciated.

Regards,

Ady

As a newbie am I right in thinking this is the Holy grail of Potter cards? Do any even come close to rivalling it? And what kind of cost am I looking at to buy this one?  Smiley

It seems I turned up late to the party - but now I want to get involved.

This past weekend I paid a trip to the 'Making of Harry Potter' studio tour - and from there I got thinking - it would be cool to collect something Potter based.

The next day I visited the Memorabilia fair at the NEC and here I purchased a couple of Harry Potter prop cards.

I then spent an evening on  Ebay! buying more.

I came across this site a day later and now here I am  Smiley

I was wondering - how up to date the website price guide is - and also how is the market looking for these items these days? Did I miss the peak time to buy or have values gone up more in the last few years?

Has the forum still got lots of visitors coming here? I'm keen to find out more about what I have to hunt out collecting.

Cheers All.

Blythy
