1  Harry Potter / The Leaky Cauldron / Re: New Cards - Lucky enough to have acquired on: May 28, 2012, 03:53:27 AM
Congrats.  It nice to have that one signature card that no else has. A very nice variant, from a nice set, from a very collectable artist.
2  Trading cards / The Yak Shack Trading Card PRICE GUIDE discussion area / Re: Price Guide Prices on: April 06, 2012, 06:48:51 AM
Hi Blythy............and welcome to the forum. The Yak Shack has been around since 2003, when some wonderful people saw the need for a site for collectors, especially for Harry Potter Artbox cards, to have a place to exchange information and share there collections with other members. It has slowed over the years and many people who used to visit do not anymore. There are still a few faithful early members who still visit and occasionally the "Almight Supreme Yak" Roz visits. These have been  good friends and collector nuts. There are always new friends and collectors joining.
Unfortunately the price guides have not been keep current, due to older members who invested a lot of time finding other more important challenges in life. It is sad in a way just as Harry Potter has come to its conclusion.
I have a sense of renewed energy from some of the newer members and prehaps it is your time to step up to the plate and help the forum expand and grow. It takes lots of hard work and dedication, along with some dollars (Pounds) to pay for the bandwidth. I would love to see a new generation get excited about this site.
By the way there are volumes of priceless information on this website. Wishing you well.
                                                                               best regards,dave

4  Harry Potter / Diagon Alley / Re: Looking for some help Identifying and pricing these Coin cards on: March 25, 2012, 09:34:49 PM
The first 4 cards were 2006 SDCC cards sold with an oversized poster. 60 set were produced. The last 2 cards you show are dealer incentive cards and 2 additional dealer incentive cards were issued. Do not know the number produced. About the value I am not sure.                                  dave

This is perhaps one of the rarest and unique cards from the Heroes and Villains set. It is not only the last card of the run, but also is the only card of this type I have seen with a piece of the Label on it. It is also cool what it says on the card. "hands of our best" and under it, "use elves" which I take is house elves.
The cards I have seen have been of 2 styles, a thinner card with small pieces of the bottle and a thicker card with large pieces of the bottle.

No, I did not purchase these cards from you, but thanks for asking and offering a refund. I hope the eBay seller is not at fault and this is just a different attempt at signing the card. The card itself does seem legit.
9  Harry Potter / The Deathly Hallows Part 1 / Re: Probable Clemence Poesy Fake Autograph. on: February 08, 2011, 01:31:06 AM
How do you know any of these are legit, for all we know she might have a publicist or some other person scribble on these cards? Is there a code of ethics or verification standards? If this is not a fake then I probable have a rare signature card since it is so different from the other cards.
10  Harry Potter / The Deathly Hallows Part 1 / Re: Probable Clemence Poesy Fake Autograph. on: February 07, 2011, 07:15:50 PM
They do have the same thickness and the coating seems the same. Maybe the top card was either an early attempt at a signature or perhaps as you said just a rushed signature. what I still have trouble with is the top card would have require 3 different pen strokes as compared to 1 fluid stroke on the other cards.
11  Harry Potter / The Deathly Hallows Part 1 / Probable Clemence Poesy Fake Autograph. on: February 06, 2011, 11:33:44 PM
I purchased this card from eBay from a seller that I bought 2 of the same autograph cards from, one was a buy-it-now Card and the other was an auction that I won. I'm not sure which card this is but have a look and give me your opinion. The picture in the listing for both cards were the same so I am assuming the seller just took one picture and had multiple cards to sell. What concerns me about this card is that the Signature would have taken 3 separate pen strokes and all the signature cards I have seen required only a single pen stroke.

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Here is a card for sale now on eBay.

Here is the other card I purchased from this seller. I,m not sure now that it is not also fake.

here are other cards for sale on ebay. Seem her signature is all over the place.

The only problem I see with the star shape is if the card is a Variant. It could affect the display on the card.

Don't worry, these are Artbox money makers. There will probably be deathly hallows part 1 set and part 1 update set, deathly hallows part 2 set and part 2 update set, heroes and villians set 2, memorable moments set 3 and a few more that will be added. ROFL! ROFL!

It's odd that artbox used last years card design with costume material from Goblet of Fire. Last years was a Potter Stinks button from GOF numbered to 33. The auctioned cards last year were also GOB generated materials. Hopefully if they have auctioned cards this year they will be from a different movie. Makes me wonder if these SDCC exclusives were not produced last year and held over.
18  Harry Potter / Heroes & Villains / Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set on: July 09, 2010, 09:08:05 PM
I noticed that there were a few cards being sold on eBay from a west coast seller, it appears that a few of the cards sold and either the seller ended a couple of his auctions or ebay stopped the sale. It makes it difficult for east coast sellers to receive and list there items, to be competitive, if they are receiving them 5 days later. It is an advantage to be able to be the first to list items as the first cards from any release seem to bring a higher price. Artbox perhaps should not let west coast seller list there items until all seller and distributors have received there supplies or as was mentioned earlier in this thread stamp a don't sell before a certain date on the boxes.

Roz, Here's wishing you sunshine and good cheer.  Cheesy :DLife is full of bumps, most level them self out with positive thinking. How great it is to have boxes from each set.                                                                                                                                                     dave

That is probably correct, thank you. My 58 year old brain could not wrap around that detail. Tongue I hope this movie follows the book closer that the last movie.
