Summary of harry potter chocolate frog card issues---uk issues and asian issues

UK frog cards-summary

The UK chocolate frog cards evidently had 3 distinct issues first issue. Set of 20 different cards with a single row of trademarks on the back
Second issue. Set of 11 different cards with a double row of trademarks on the back
Third issue. Set of 31 cards -- all the same as 1st and 2nd issues -- all with a double row of trademarks on the back. It is possible that only the 1st issue of 20 was reissued with a double row of trademarks.
The 2nd issue of 11 do not exist with a single row of trademarks
The third issue evidently has two colours---a pinkish purple colour and a bluish purple colour the uk issues include 31 different name cards. 20 of the name cards have both a single trademark row and a double trademark row version. Thus, excluding colour varieties, there are 51 collectible cards.

Asian -- or also called Aussie--- frog cards (with Chinese characters on back)-summary

The Asian cards can easily be distinguished from the UK cards by the Chinese characters present on the back of the cards. The Asian chocolate frog cards evidently only had 2 distinct issues all card names have the same frontal images as their UK issue counterparts
First issue. Set of 20 different cards with a single row of trademarks on the back this first issue had two distinct colours – a pinkish purple and a blackish / bluish purple colour
Second issue. Set of 10 different cards with a double row of trademarks on the back the second issue did not have the Madam Malkin card that was included in the 11 UK cards.
The Asian issues include 30 different name cards. The UK issues have 31 different name cards.

Second uk issue-----11 different cards----all have a double row of trademarks. Both rows end in periods and there is no mention of "2001" in the upper row.

Top trademark is even with the border on the back and says "CE tm & C Warner Bros."
Second row trademark is below the top trademark on the back and says "publishing rights (c) JK Rowling."

First and second UK issues comprise 31 different names--20 with single row trademark and 11 with double row trademark the two sets are all the same pinkish purple colour the Fat Lady portrait card in the second issue is scarcer than the other 10 cards for some reason the Madam Malkin card in the 2nd issue did not get issued with the Asian 2nd issue set of frog cards---thus the Asian (or sometimes called Aussie ) 2nd issue set has only 10 different names. The Asian sets, therefore, have 30 different name cards.

Third UK issue-----all 20 cards of the 1st issue were re-issued with a double row of trademarks. Possibly, all 11 of the 2nd issue, which already have a double row of trademarks, were re-issued also.
Total set would include 31 cards.
There are 2 colours for all 31 cards, the original pinkish purple and a newer bluish purple.
Third UK issue type 1-----31 different cards with a double row of trademarks. Pinkish purple colour
Third UK issue type 2----31 different cards with a double row of trademarks. Bluish purple colour trademark rows are identical to those in the 2nd UK set.

Asian--or also called Aussie---with Chinese characters on back
First Asian issue ---type a ----- 20 different cards with a single trademark row. Pinkish purple colour-same names and pictures as UK series.
First Asian issue ---type b ----- 20 different cards with a single trademark row. Blackish/bluish purple colour-same names and pictures as type a
Two distinct colours
The name cards and the pictures on the front are all the same as the UK series.
Names on the back include Chinese characters---this clearly distinguishes this series from the UK series
Trademark is even with the border on the back and says "CE tm & C 2001 Warner Bros"
