: Now i must ask THAT question : Tea_and_Fruit November 09, 2004, 02:02:20 PM ok after reading here and in other 2 forums the case breakdowns i am a little confused about the ratios.
It realy looks like that the USA Cases contains MORE autograph cards then the UK Cases. UK Cases have 1-3 autograph cards and the USA 2-5 (average) make that sense? OK my order is 50/50 from UK and USA but if this better ratio is only for USA Cases then i realy say "that is not fair" ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? : Re:Now i must ask THAT question : beckham1 November 09, 2004, 02:15:00 PM We will see soon. T & F consider who the lucky people are who are pulling the extra inserts...ztaylor is always money for good pulls. Now if I get my case and have a good one something is really great about the US cases.
I rarely have good pulls and usually end up short. I think Roz and I tend to be pretty unlucky it seems :'( - so I am assuming I will also get a case with no auto's in it just like Roz. Consider this I bought a case of LOTR TTU for $300. I pulled 2 sam costumes, 1 - Faramir costume and a Gandalf costume. I could have picked those 4 up of ebay for about $50 total. That is pretty much my luck, and also see my 12 auto 5 costume case break on LOTR chrome (4 auto's short and 3 costumes short). In other words if I get some good cards then there must be better US cases. Of course it is possible that US cases were packed out last and have a couple more inserts. Be patient young Jedi, only a few more case breaks will tell. : Re:Now i must ask THAT question : gimli November 09, 2004, 02:25:31 PM If this is the case and i hope that Artbox are listening to this
I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER ONE OF THEIR PRODUCTS It might just be that people have been very lucky with the first few US cases and it will go back to what we got as insert rates but if there is a big difference like that. Then I will sell all my Potter and leave it with that very annoying and unfair the message that would send is that my money is worth less than US money and we have to pay a lot more in the first place in the UK for cards. Sorry rant over i will hold judgement for a while but if this is true then I will be emailing art box with some stern word. : Re:Now i must ask THAT question : ford-prefect November 09, 2004, 04:57:26 PM It realy looks like that the USA Cases contains MORE autograph cards then the UK Cases. i know someone who has had a case from cards inc with 5 autos and 4 filmcels : Re:Now i must ask THAT question : mpcltd November 09, 2004, 04:58:44 PM Who?
: Re:Now i must ask THAT question : olly November 09, 2004, 05:02:02 PM xSaBx
: Re:Now i must ask THAT question : gimli November 09, 2004, 05:04:46 PM hmmm I am glad that someone has pulled 5 autos from a case even if it was xsabx from NSU ;)
sorry about the rant earlier but sometimes a rant is a good thing ;D : Re:Now i must ask THAT question : olly November 09, 2004, 05:12:10 PM I'm not exactly glad - but then anyone who reads card talk would understand why! ;D
: Re:Now i must ask THAT question : Tea_and_Fruit November 09, 2004, 05:18:08 PM I'm not exactly glad - but then anyone who reads card talk would understand why! ;D ;D i know But she post no Casebreakdown. I see the breakdowns here in this forum and in 2 other (not the NSU) and most every case contains more autos as the Cases from Gimli and Roz and many other UK collectors. : Re:Now i must ask THAT question : Roz November 09, 2004, 05:20:03 PM It might just be that people have been very lucky with the first few US cases Of course it could be - remember how you did in your first 3 cases! ;D : Re:Now i must ask THAT question : gimli November 09, 2004, 05:20:31 PM hmmmmm i have read card talk and I can't think for the life of me what you might mean ;)
but it is good to know that there does seem to be good cases with equal amounts of good inserts both sides of the pond the problem is that when you start to have the situation where a product is packed differently to go to different parts of the world doubt will set in as to the fairness of packing The one thing i must ask is what was the advert card in the US packs was it the cards inc items or something different : Re:Now i must ask THAT question : olly November 09, 2004, 05:28:47 PM I haven't posted my breakdown anywhere.
But for the record it was worse than most : Re:Now i must ask THAT question : olly November 09, 2004, 05:31:43 PM hmmmmm i have read card talk and I can't think for the life of me what you might mean ;) but it is good to know that there does seem to be good cases with equal amounts of good inserts both sides of the pond the problem is that when you start to have the situation where a product is packed differently to go to different parts of the world doubt will set in as to the fairness of packing The one thing i must ask is what was the advert card in the US packs was it the cards inc items or something different It wasn't a Cards Inc advert. What made me think to ask was the advert is in sterling and is no good to US collectors. : Re:Now i must ask THAT question : ford-prefect November 09, 2004, 05:49:32 PM what's card talk?
: Re:Now i must ask THAT question : Roz November 09, 2004, 05:53:21 PM lol - you came from it - the NSU forum that's what they call themselves!
: Re:Now i must ask THAT question : ferdinand_the_yak November 09, 2004, 05:54:50 PM I visited there 3 times and even I know who you are talking about - boy, thats one erm... dedicated ( ::)) mod!
: Re:Now i must ask THAT question : ford-prefect November 09, 2004, 05:59:37 PM lol - you came from it - the NSU forum that's what they call themselves! oh, right, i thought it was just called non sports update, like the magazine, didnt realise it had another name :-\ : Re:Now i must ask THAT question : Roz November 09, 2004, 06:15:27 PM Hee hee no probs, it's not important!
They probably only did it to confuse ;) : Re:Now i must ask THAT question : hockeyron November 09, 2004, 06:51:28 PM Well I've got 3 cases coming probably Friday ....
I'll try to get my case breaks out .... Will probably decide from Case # 1 whether I continue to crack or sell the boxes/cases unopened.... Interesting that my distributor said that Artbox told him that the US shipments were 1 week late since they wanted ZERO redemptions for auto's --- guess we'll see if this is true or not ..... ron : Re:Now i must ask THAT question : Roz November 09, 2004, 06:54:56 PM eh?
There are definitely redemptions in the US cases! : Re:Now i must ask THAT question : Tea_and_Fruit November 09, 2004, 08:35:37 PM What i mean is...
how many cases have been opened over the weekend in the UK? 100.. 150...200 ? Several USA Dealer have opened too. lets say 150 Cases so a 5th of the printrun is now open. I guess i am right when i say 90% of the in the UK opened Cases have 2 autograph cards and 10% have 0,1,or 3 Now we take a little look to the USA i have seen Case breakdowns for 25 Cases and 23 from them have 3 autos as minimum, most of them 4 or 5. From my sight this is not LUCK or something. I do not want to make panic i only want to say that there are more cases in the USA with more autos than in the UK. ??? : Re:Now i must ask THAT question : kbmum November 09, 2004, 08:48:52 PM Where have you seen breakdowns for 25 US cases? All I can find are the ones from ztaylork and morenomark, and those total 4 cases. Maybe they're on a different forum? If so, please send the link.
: Re:Now i must ask THAT question : Roz November 09, 2004, 09:37:34 PM Yes I have been discussing this with another forum member... there seems to be a highly secret 3rd card forum.... although I will look at them like this >:( I would like to see their breakdowns ;) so I am happy for a link to be posted here :D
: Re:Now i must ask THAT question : Tea_and_Fruit November 09, 2004, 09:45:44 PM 15 Cases were opened from a friend of my sister who lives in . He is also a small dealer so i trust his breakdowns. He asked my sister about UK breakdowns and so we find out that obviously there is a chance that the USA Cases more autograph contain than those from the UK.
Further 3 breakdowns from other collectors (I can not post a link I get the info from my sister) and the breakdowns from ztaylork and morenomark. (By the way great pulls) Only which I wanted was to find out whether someone the same was noticeable. I do not belive that Artbox make International and National Cases : Re:Now i must ask THAT question : kbmum November 09, 2004, 10:00:33 PM We should have a ton of information by the weekend, now that US distributors are shipping the boxes. I just can't believe that Artbox would intentionally change the insertion rates for US and UK boxes -- it would be very stupid of them to anger Cards Inc. and all of the collectors in the UK.
: Re:Now i must ask THAT question : rns91294 November 09, 2004, 10:16:35 PM I agree. Although they do make different cases for US and UK, right? I mean, there are UK cards in the Uk cases that you can not pull in the US ones, just like last time, or am I wrong. I fidn it interesting that many US boxes that had an auto also had a prop/costume and film cell card. I just hope those cases aren't so good that they take away from the simple little boxes i bought :-\
: Re:Now i must ask THAT question : Roz November 09, 2004, 10:57:45 PM I agree. Although they do make different cases for US and UK, right? I mean, there are UK cards in the Uk cases that you can not pull in the US ones, just like last time, or am I wrong? We only know for sure that the UK boxes were packed separately ... this is because they have a little slip in them (card sized) advertising the Lithograph set (we had one recently available in a competition on this forum donated by Chidgey's Collectables) and the Cards Inc plates (we have one up now donated by MPC and we have had one donated by Cards2Collectables in the past). That slip isn't in the US packs... that tells us nothing about any extra autos or whatever, it just tells us that the boxes were packed separately. RNS the "UK exclusive" cards were not inserted into packs but dished out to dealers when they bought their cases... so they should have been the same! It wouldn't be clever to make 1/2 of your print run poor - the UK market is a growing market for trading cards... the UK public is mostly scared by the concept of trading cards (we all know they can be complicated) - they don't know what to do with them... "can we play a game with them?" "NO" This baby market needs careful attention if it is to grow... this wouldn't be the way to do it! Let's see how it goes, remember the first 3 UK cases opened had a Ron and a Triple in - so it's just the way the cases break sometimes!!! : Re:Now i must ask THAT question : rns91294 November 09, 2004, 11:10:56 PM Now I get it. I thought the UK exclusive card was found in packs!!! Learn something new every day, huh?
I would think it be stupid for them to make one batch have less inserts in it, and I doubt they did. I just think some cases were better packed than others. Like the last run ()the original set), I bought one box that had three inserts. A lot of people thought this was a really good deal for me. It is probably the same this time around, some are good and some aren't great at all. |
