First off .. I'm not too sure where to post this Roz, so if it's in the wrong place then please feel free to shift it over.  :)

This question applies to everyone no matter which card sets they're collecting and I think it would be useful for us all to contribute a response.
It really doesn't matter how many or few cards you collect, whether you're primarily a collector or whether you're a dealer ... everyone's reply would be most welcome.

Some of you already know that I mainly collect LOTR cards, with a few other sets which catch my eye as I trawl the eBay listings.  ::)

I finally received my first LOTR Trilogy costume card this morning and though it's definitely thicker than normal, it's not as thick as previous costume cards in previous sets.
Given the nature of the chrome finish on the cards AND the thickness, what kind of storage cases/toploaders will everyone be using to keep them in?
I've used Pro Mold PC18's (when I can get them) for the previous costume cards, but I think they'll be too deep for the Trilogy set.

That leads me to the auto cards for the this set.
What will you be using for short and long-term storage of these auto cards and will it be different to what you normally use?
The ones I've received were sent to me in soft sleeves inside hard toploaders and I want to know the best thing to store them longer-term?

Remember, I've only used the Trilogy set as an example ~ this question applies to any of the sets you collect.
What will you be using for the double costumes and triple auto cards from the PoA sets which you'll all be getting hmmm? ;)

For people in the US ... please be aware we can't get hold of many of the Ultra Pro and Pro Mold products here in the UK and I would imagine it's the same elsewhere in Europe and Australasia .... we really don't have much to choose from I'm afraid!  :o :-[

Anyway, please take the time to post your thoughts, ideas and practical solutions here, because I'm sure some of the newer Forum members would like to read the tips and tricks for storing their cards safely .... posted by the more experienced collectors/dealers on the Forum! :D

The cleanest system for both Auto & Clothing cards are the Ultra-Pro Specialty Series One Touch system.  Ultra-Pro has removed that damn small screw and replaced it with magnets that make it a snap to put in or take out your cards.

The One Touch Standard will hold a card up to 35 points which will easily accomodate your Auto Cards.

The One Touch for Thicker Cards holds up to a 130 point card which will hold your Clothing Cards.  The Standard goes for $1.00 each while the one for the thicker cards sells for $1.25.

Yea Roz these new cases from Ultra-Pro are great.  I hated that small screw!  It literally takes just seconds to place your card in these cases and the magnets are very strong so there is no worry about the case coming open.  The other nice feature is that the four corners where your card edge sits is recessed so that the 4 points or corners are protected and will not get damaged.   :)

I go with the 4 screw, ALL THE TIME.
I have had one magnet and lets say my peter jackson ROTK card got ruined, and on top of that I like the 4 screw better then the 1 beacuse it all looks the same with the 4 screw, compared to the 1. the magnet ones just seem to cheap to me :(

I was very skeptical at first as I always used the single screw.  When I saw it demonstrated at my store and then tried it for myself I was hooked and will never fuss again with the screw variety no matter how many they have.  

I did not understand the wording in your message.  Are you saying you had an Ultra-Pro One Touch Magnet Card Protector and that your ROTK Peter Jackson Auto Card was ruined?  If so how as I can't see that can happen.  Also they are no more cheaply made than your 4 screw down protector.  They are all injection molded.  Now if you are looking for asthetics having a shiny gold screw on each corner takes away from what should be the main focus - your Auto card.  But hey if you enjoy screwing down that card with 4 screws go for it!  ;)  

4 screws dont bother me, the one screw on the top or side always looked weird to me

I had my rotk PJ sent in one, the magnet sliped and the card got pinched no god no good!

I started using the 4screws, and it is to late to change really.. I like them all with the same look for one and I like the way they look in the 4 screw. the screws arent that small, 10 small cranks and they are tight 12 and they break :P

Does anyone know where in Australia (preferrably Melbourne) I can get ultra-pro products? I am after a few of the 4 screw cases. Or does anyone know a good site on the net that I can order through?

I know a store in Melbourne, in the City!  They can be found at 262 - 266 Victoria St. North Melbourne Vic. 3051 (Opposite Victoria Market).  

They sell all the card holders, base set boxes, plastic pocket sheets etc.  Their actual cards are quite expensive, but the holders etc are quite cheap.  I'm going there tomorrow to get some more-didn't pick up enough today...

Goofy - what did you do about the ROTK PJ? Can you get a refund or replacement?

That stinks!  I like FTY hope you got satisifaction for the damaged Jackson Auto.  Maybe you are correct about sending a card in the mail with the magnet feature  with all of the banging around it would get in shipment.
I still love the magnet ones for my collection as they are stationary in one place.   :)

yea i gues they would be cool if you didnt move them around, but like i sais started with 4 end with 4 :P

Also someone can easily popit opena nd nobody better lay a finger on my FOTRMERRYFINGER!

I got it straightened out and got a new PJ auto, no marks!
