: Harry Potter Versus Star Wars : garage September 28, 2004, 12:10:21 PM I was just looking at some of the odds of autographs in the upcoming Star Wars heritage series (which looks like 1 in every 3 cases with a Mark Hamill being 1 in 24) and was pondering if in 25 years down the track there will be the same interst and excitement in the actors from the Harry Potter movies?
Do you think the HP actors will end up with the same lasting cult followings as those from Starwars? : Re:Harry Potter Versus Star Wars : paxcards September 28, 2004, 01:40:10 PM If I'm honest, I dont think HP movies will ever have the same kind of cult status that Star Wars has, or the actors for that matter. But know knows what will happen when the Harry Potter children of today are adults in 15-20 years time - maybe there will be a revival? The books will have a much greater impact over time, I think.
Lord of the Rings is more likely to achieve the status that Star Wars has, and it seems to be becoming that way already. : Re:Harry Potter Versus Star Wars : samwise16 September 28, 2004, 04:11:53 PM Nah to be honest the first too films are pants, well CoS i liked but alot of people thought it was poor acting, nothing on Starwars, Only Lord of the rings can beat starwars to be honest
: Re:Harry Potter Versus Star Wars : ferdinand_the_yak September 28, 2004, 04:49:05 PM While i think the books will eventually become well established classics, I'm afraid the same cannot be said for the movies - they lack the lastability factor of LOTR. Nice to watch over a bowl of popcorn and block of chocolate (or 4 ;)) but unlikely last over time.
