There are only 51 more days until the movie release of Deathly Hallows Part 1.
Has anyone heard anything about the release of the 1st trading card set?

Nothing. But I am sure there will be one. At least, I hope.

I haven't heard anything, either.  NSU doesn't have the release on its calendar, which means that Artbox hasn't notified them.  The company does have the license through the end of the HP movies, so it would be shocking if there weren't any more sets.

There has to be another set at least one like they cant just leave out the last film it has to be against the law  :-\

Don't worry, these are Artbox money makers. There will probably be deathly hallows part 1 set and part 1 update set, deathly hallows part 2 set and part 2 update set, heroes and villians set 2, memorable moments set 3 and a few more that will be added. :rofl: :rofl:

There will be a set.  I called Artbox a little while ago and spoke to someone (not Kay) who said he's working on the set right now.  They expect it to be released around the end of November.

Is there any info on what the costume/prop/autos will be?
I really cant wait for this set  ;D

Good luck with that. Artbox has been doing better with letting us know what cards are in a set before a release, but it is usually VERY close to the release itself. And in the past, there were plenty of times we only know a handful of cards and had to wait for the set to find out the rest.

I actually agree. But, at the same time, I get more exciting knowing if there is a card in there I really want. Gives it more of the suspense factor for me of whether or not it is actually in there.

They are from San Diego Comic Con, yet, this is the first time I think I have seen them....

This is getting just plain silly...

Saw a trailer on TV today and realized it is exactly a month until the movie arrives in US theaters.

Artbox has not given dealers even a smidgen of information about the set.  We can all assume what the price will be from previous sets, but give us some idea of when and what we can expect.

The fact that these are the lifeblood of Artbox's product line and that they almost always sell out has seemed to make Artbox complacent.


From a dealer's standpoint, I haven't budgeted for a set that I've not been told about.  And might skip this one entirely.

I agree Ed. I think Artbox can make us collectors waitto get a lot of the info, but dealers who they distribute to absolutely should have received more information by now.

I asked him at the last card show. All he knew was that there was going to be a set, released hopefully around the same time as the movie. But nothing else.

I just received some info in my inbox tonight. :)  I'll update the auto list tomorrow with the names of the characters.  I have no idea who Rhys Ifans is.  There is no word yet about insert ratios or whether the set will have filmcards.

There are some nice surprises in the costume list. :)

Everyone is going to want that Snape costume. How much you want to bet that it is "material used to create"?

i will definitly want the snape costume but really only if its worn costume i hate getting the material used to create cards :(

I agree. I hate them too, but this may be the only way to get a Snape costume card, so I will take it either way....

Yeah, that auction is a pre-sale. She does note the item release date is November 24th, That is fine, as I think eBay allows you to pre-sell items that are due to release within 30 days. That is, if Artbox gets it out on time. LOL

You beat me to it, John! :) Here are images of some of the cards.  The costume cards are mock-ups that don't show the actual swatch that will be inserted.  It's interesting that one of the mock-ups shows a Mad-Eye costume, which is not on the checklist.

The C2 costume is a Bill Weasley costume.  The actor, Domhnall Gleeson, doesn't have an auto, which might not be surprising since he's Brendan Gleeson's son.  Personally, I'm disappointed that the Arthur Weasley costume is a 5-case incentive.

Maybe they got the name wrong, Maybe the Domhnall Gleeson should really be Brendan Gleeson's costume. Or, maybe that was the only picture they could use. LOL.  :P

My concern is that the swatches shaped as stars make it appear as if the swatches will be really small.

A star die-cut would show less material, but the size of the cut swatch might be the same as with previous sets.

Artbox said that the props are "pending approval."  What if some of them aren't approved?  The insert ratios could be affected.

Exactly. Ryan and I were looking at the cards and agree that the size of the swatch material would be the same as we previously are used to. The star itself is just allowing us to see less of it than normal. If you open the star up so that it becomes a circle, you would get the same size we are used to.

I am also nervous about the props. Personally, they are my favorite pieces to collect.

I really hope the prop cards are in this too as they are my favourites aswel :)
i also like thec look of the auto cards but the star shape for the costumes is not my favoutie, i really liked the half blood prince costume card designs :)

Rather than stars, a swatch in the shape of Harry's lightning bolt scar would have been neat. Wonder why they never thought of that?

The only problem I see with the star shape is if the card is a Variant. It could affect the display on the card.

I dont think there will be as many variants as in other sets so i dont think artbox even considered that as a problem

There's no way to know that until we see the set.  The costumes could have some variants and the props most likely will.  Rita Skeeter's book,  undesirable poster, and the Daily Prophet are all good candidates.  The props from different houses/buildings could have variants as well, but it's hard to guess when the info about those cards is so vague.

The costumes have a great list and the props look to have pretty big windows cut out for good sized prop pieces. Always excited to open a bunch of cases.

What are the new ship and release dates?

Dec 7 is the release date. Must be shipping very soon. Hopefully today...yeah, right.

Im getting 2 boxes of ed and when they are shipped from him i really hope thwy reach ireland in time for cristmas  :o=

I just read on another forum that the date has been pushed back to December 10 due to manufacturing problems at the plant in China.

New release date is Dec. 10th I have been informed.

Is that the date the sellers will be getting them shipped to them or the date that the sellers will ship them out to the customers?  ???

I was wondering about Ci4 (25 case incentive) card, coins from Gringotts.
I don't remember any scenes of Gringotts in the Deathly Hallows Part 1. (please correct me if I missed something) ???

Also, I would be surprised if those of us waiting for boxes see them much before Christmas.
I think there were two other sets in recent memory that were scheduled for November, which ended up coming very close to the 24th of December.

Ok this is the first time ive been here for a release so they are definitly being released on the 10th or os that just another estimated guess by artbox?  :-\

Whether they are shipping tomorrow or on the 10th, if the release date is the 10th....even if you get them sooner....you can not post anything on eBay until the release date of the 10th.  Lets all remember that there is always someone who lists them early and Artbox ends up going to the distributors with the information which could get them in trouble causing delays in future releases.

I can't wait to get this set.

There will be scenes from Gringotts in Part 2 , so I wonder what the back of Ci4 will say.
Maybe it will just say used in the film Deathly Hallows, not specific to PT1 or 2.

The seller also has for auction two autos, two costumes, base set, box topper set, and 9-card subset.  I really love the look of the autos.  It's nice to see a new design that's colorful and has some nice elements.

Does each character/group of characters have a different swatch punch design, I wonder?

If anyone ever has any questions about the authenticity of a card, please post on the Shack and people here can help you.  It costs enough money to collect cards as it is that no one needs to waste money on fake cards.

I saw some prop cards now and I'm happy that the swatch of them was a square and not a star, a very good decision because of all the variants.

I am glad the props have a square too. I might get my boxes tomorrow, but I won't be opening until the weekend.....
