I'll go for this set as I did for every set yet. And the prop cards sound interesting. I hope for a lot of more info about the autograph cards.
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villians Set : rns91294 May 15, 2010, 02:11:38 AM Yeah, I am getting a few boxes. I actually really like the looks of the binder.
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villians Set : kbmum May 15, 2010, 02:15:40 AM Artbox probably had no choice about releasing a filler set. The next movie opens in November and that would have been a long stretch since the last HP release. Things will get interesting when Deathly Hallows 1 comes in November 2010 and Deathly Hallows 2 in July 2011. We'll end up with four sets (regular and update) within a year. Better start saving now!
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villians Set : Nienna May 15, 2010, 03:22:51 AM Wowsers!! Not leaving much time to save-up for it are they!? ::) :-\ :(
I'm with Tower - definitely need more info on the autos plus the rest of the inserts. :P : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villians Set : jfer21 May 15, 2010, 11:16:19 AM Did anybody else get a mailer from Artbox today about this set? When I came home, there was a manila envelope with a sell sheet, info sheet, and three promo cards (Harry, Dumbledore and Hagrid) waiting for me. I can scan the cards if people want to see them. From the paragraph that was written about them, it made it sound like Toby Jones was the only autograph, so I'm confused. I'll probably get a couple of boxes, no more. The idea sounds cool, though.
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villians Set : Bogleg May 15, 2010, 03:08:20 PM First time I've ever heard of anyone getting an Artbox mailer ??? You must be one of their favourites ;D Can't see any of these being sent outside of the US :'(
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villians Set : rns91294 May 15, 2010, 09:03:03 PM I usually get the mailer too, so maybe I will get it today. I got it for the last few sets, although, Kaye has met me in person a few times, which may be the reason.
I did ask about the Toby auto from my main dealer and was told that there will be others in the set. I too thought it sounded like it would be the only auto, but was told there were more...so we shall see. : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villians Set : richbarb94 May 15, 2010, 10:45:55 PM jfer21,
could you please post scans of the cards and info sheet? i am very interested to see the cards ;D ;D thank you, rich : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villians Set : Bagshott May 15, 2010, 11:02:40 PM Yes, please put up scans. :D
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villians Set : ukpatriotsfan May 16, 2010, 05:34:15 AM ARGH! Another Potter Set?OMG

I love the blue color in them. I never made it to my mailbox yesterday, so I will have to go check to see if anything arrived. I am being lazy. Actually, don't feel like finding bills.
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : richbarb94 May 16, 2010, 09:04:53 PM thanks for the scans! these cards look pretty cool to me. i also like the idea of a snakeskin binder. time to start saving!
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : Scifi Cards May 18, 2010, 11:24:34 AM Yikes! Just 6 weeks until release? Thanks for all the notice Artbox. >:()
I imagine we'll get nothing further until AFTER dealer orders are due, like normal. And I have to ask, where's the originality Artbox? Rittenhouse has a James Bond Heroes and Villains set coming out the same month. Ed : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : rns91294 May 18, 2010, 06:28:54 PM That's alright Ed, I think Rittenhouse and Artbox both stole the idea from this season of Survivor, Heroes vs. Villains.
And, I got my package yesterday with the promos and sell sheet ;D : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : kbmum May 19, 2010, 02:06:59 AM I was thinking the same thing! :)
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : Scifi Cards May 22, 2010, 02:37:05 AM Got this information from my distributor today...
HP wil have 5 autos, 10 cosutme cards and 4 props per case this time. + 12 or 18 film card type base cards. So obviously there will be more than 1 auto. Not sure what to think about "film card type base cards." And I hate the 5/10/4 insert ratio because that leaves one lone box in the case with just a costume card. Standard pricing, so at least this isn't considered some sort of "Premium" set. Ed : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : rns91294 May 22, 2010, 05:37:48 AM Either that or there will be a ton of Dobby autos floating around.
I shouldn't laugh though considering what NECA did with the Twilight set and all the autos they put out for just two people. I don't like the ratio either, however, it is better than some of their last sets that only had 3 props with 2 boxes per case only having one insert. In fact, I believe Cindy was unlucky enough to get those two boxes from her two box only order. :-\ : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : kbmum May 22, 2010, 09:15:52 AM Yeah, I had only one high-numbered costume card in each of two boxes of Memorable Moments 1 (a premium set with $75 boxes). I felt like an absolute chump for being stupid enough to buy the boxes, and no company should want their customers to feel that way. That was the beginning of my disintegrating interest in HP cards. I'm not buying any boxes of this set, because my luck with pulls is poor and I don't want to chance getting the box with only one insert.
I honestly don't understand why Artbox can't pack one more insert per case so that every box has two premium cards. Most of the regular movie sets have nine boxes with two inserts and one box with three inserts. Look at Rittenhouse. They pack three and sometimes four inserts in a box. : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : Fizzingwizbee63 May 22, 2010, 09:00:19 PM Does anyone here think we will finally get a costume or auto for Snape/Rickman, and if so will he be a Hero or Villian?? ???
Also any thoughts on if the set will have dual costume, prop or autos? Perhaps a triple or quad scenario  : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : adamxxx May 22, 2010, 09:15:38 PM We can all hope the spice the product up a bit. :o=Other companies add alot of content and do what the customers are asking for.
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : terryweasley May 22, 2010, 11:55:29 PM I would love anything to do with Snape/Alan Rickman. :o= They could do a dual card for Snape as both villan and hero. He qualifies as both although his involvement as a spy for Dumbledore hasn't been officially featured in a movie yet.
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : Fizzingwizbee63 May 23, 2010, 12:13:12 AM With over a dozen HP sets produced to date, we have not seen so much as a black robe swatch for Snape/Rickman. ::)
I think it's about time!! : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : kbmum May 23, 2010, 05:26:04 AM IMHO, the reason we haven't seen a Snape costume is that WB won't give or sell it to Artbox. I'll bet that the people at Artbox want any Snape-related items as much as we do.
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : rns91294 May 23, 2010, 07:46:02 AM I honestly don't understand why Artbox can't pack one more insert per case so that every box has two premium cards. Most of the regular movie sets have nine boxes with two inserts and one box with three inserts. Look at Rittenhouse. They pack three and sometimes four inserts in a box. I agree. They should guarantee (as much as possible anyway) two inserts per box. Even at $50, it sucks to get the one box with one insert. And the thing I hate the most is that it always seems that one insert is a high numbered costume card. If they do this, the one insert should be a hard to get item to make the box seem a little more worth it. Those who buy cases might be okay with the one insert box because of all the other pulls they are getting, but for those of us who don't buy cases, that one box pretty much sucks. : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : Scifi Cards June 02, 2010, 10:53:32 AM Absolutely amazing... I think there are only 300 cases available :P
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : rns91294 June 23, 2010, 12:21:06 AM Yup, only 300 cases.
Do you mean what each costume or prop will be limited to....or how many total costumes and props? If totals, scroll up a bit and you can see how many are included. As for the numbers on the backs of the cards, those have not been announced yet. : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : adamxxx June 23, 2010, 01:24:55 AM Well if you look at it this way

@rns91294 Yes, i was after the individual card numbers (which Adam covered)not the total amount of props and costumes from the set! ;D Just brought 2 cases >:D : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : adamxxx July 04, 2010, 09:00:26 PM a few on ebay really early sucks !!!! Since release date is july 12th
not mine of course http://cgi.ebay.com/Harry-Potter-Heroes-Villains-Swatch-Tom-Riddle-/400133834100?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5d29d5c574 : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : Bryanjs14 July 04, 2010, 09:40:26 PM Yeah it does, and she might get whoever he/she bought from in trouble listing this early. If they were listed NEXT weekend I would understand, and not have to much of a problem with it, but almost two full weeks early?
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : ukpatriotsfan July 05, 2010, 01:13:54 AM I`ve always believed in my money staying in my account longer than the sellers! >:D So is July 12 now the official release date? :P
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : Scifi Cards July 05, 2010, 12:20:01 PM a few on ebay really early sucks !!!! Since release date is july 12th not mine of course In the seller's defense, Artbox does not communicate the release dates very well, if at all. I've not officially been told not to sell until July 12th, I've just seen it posted online that it is the release date. If Artbox does not tell you, it's not really your fault for selling them early. Topps has actually printed the release date on boxes before, and occasionally has a sticker on the box with "do not sell until...". Then there is no excuse. Ed : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : Scifi Cards July 05, 2010, 12:28:44 PM Will Artbox never learn? ???
There are AT LEAST 2 redemption autographs in this set; Dobby and Ginny. >:() There was no deadline, like a movie release. So why not wait and release it when you have them in hand? Oh well, I guess I was expecting too much from them. Ed : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : Bryanjs14 July 07, 2010, 08:53:11 PM There IS a "movie deadline" as you put it. The next Potter film comes out in November, and they want to give collectors enough time between sets. I'm sorry but I am so sick and tired of people complaining about the same crap every single release. With Potter, it is redemptions, with Upper Deck, Topps it is sticker autos. Complaining on a forum and clutting up these threads with the same whining every single release isn't going to fix things. If you don't like redemptions, DON'T BUY THE PRODUCT. Artbox has a pretty flawless customer service record, and with the exception of ONE bad apple (the gleeson auto) they have had no problem redeeming every single redemption that goes into their products. So what if you have to wait to get an autograph? Do you know something about your date of expiration that makes you so eager to get a piece of cardboard signed by the actor in your hands upon release? Jeeze, give it a rest. At least the designs are always top notch giving the signers plenty of room, and the signatures are all ON CARD.
Do you know WHY there are redemptions? Because Artbox prints almost all of the cards in a set at ONE TIME. They print the base, the inserts, the autos, the costumes the props all at once more than likely to save a lot of fees with their printers. If that is what it takes to keep a good company afloat and keep producing quality, appealing sets then Artbox, keep issuing redemptions, because I know you are good for it. : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : rns91294 July 07, 2010, 09:18:19 PM Well, Ginny will sign for sure. She never had a problem signing for any of the other sets. Hopefully, Dobby will to. I just can't believe they never made good on the "never received Gleeson autos". That sucks.
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : rns91294 July 07, 2010, 09:23:02 PM Just looked at the auctions. They could have used a better picture for the Cedric card.....you can barely see him!. But, I like the snake image that is around the swatches.
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : Bagshott July 07, 2010, 10:01:23 PM I know Bonny (Ginny) has been busy filming other stuff as well as HP lately - but she will have signed as soon as she could.
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : ukpatriotsfan July 07, 2010, 10:34:11 PM @ Bryanjs14
Did someone get out of the wrong side of the bed this morning?OMG  Any one would think you had shares in Artbox!CALM DOWN ;D : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : Bryanjs14 July 07, 2010, 11:42:33 PM No I didn't, I woke up on the same side of the bed, where people complain about pieces of cardboard on a daily basis, and it makes me sick. Put some of that energy into something else. Like I said, Please, just don't buy the product if you don't like redemptions. No one is forcing you to buy anything, and complaining isn't going to change how Artbox does business. They are a company trying to survive in tough times, and if redemptions are one way of eliminating a good chunk of costs then so be it. Artbox is the best company out there for Potter. They have crazy incentives, but the incentives aren't like Rittenhouse where they get the biggest signer and make them an incentive. I dont think another company could do better than what Artbox has done.
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : rns91294 July 08, 2010, 12:22:58 AM Artbox does do Potter well. As for the redemptions, they don't save costs since they have to print double the amount of cards just to make the redemptions....and most dealers and collectors don't know if there will be redemptions until they start opening the boxes. I think Ed was just trying to make a point and was not really complaining.
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : ukpatriotsfan July 08, 2010, 01:24:06 AM To be honest,i don`t see why we need redemption cards in the first place! :-\Simply put the cards in the cases already signed and if they do have a problem with any actors/actresses,put the reserve cards in instead. My only gripe about redemptions is that i have to send cards from the UK insured and it s just more money wasted on shipping! >:()
It`s risky enough getting cases sent unharmed or stolen but to return redemption cards back and then have them sent again is a bit strange and time consuming!Kay from Artbox is a wonderful person :-*and she has helped me with any queries i have had in the past! : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : Bryanjs14 July 08, 2010, 01:59:58 AM Artbox does do Potter well. As for the redemptions, they don't save costs since they have to print double the amount of cards just to make the redemptions....and most dealers and collectors don't know if there will be redemptions until they start opening the boxes. I think Ed was just trying to make a point and was not really complaining. If they print up JUST the autograph cards to ship out to the actors before they print out everything else, then it is two trips to the printers, not one trip that prints everything. I imagine they print everything all at the same time, with the redemptions printed in case an actor is not timely in returning them. Artbox starts soliciting and taking orders (I think) before everything is actually printed up and packaged. : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : rns91294 July 08, 2010, 02:02:10 AM They can't put the signed cards in the cases yet because they did not receive them back from the signer. That is why they use redemptions. This way, you send in the redemption and you get the signed card back once the actor returns them. If they had them back from the actor before the release, the cards would be inserted in to the cases already signed. I hope that makes sense.
Bryan, I get what you are saying. I was thinking that they might make a second trip to the printer just to get the redemptions printed for actors who have not yet signed. I would think it would be a waste of money to print a bunch of redemptions....just in case. : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : Bagshott July 08, 2010, 02:40:31 AM I'm happy with Artbox. It's Inkworks that got me, redemption cards for pieceworks!! >:()
The Golden Compass set is lovely but according to a redemption card I've still got there were 11 piecework redemption cards. Were they waiting for money from sales of cases before they could afford to pay for the costumes? There must have been a lot of unhappy customers seeing pieceworks on the box and then getting only a lousy piece of card - at least Artbox auto redemptions have the picture and are identical except for the signature. : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : rns91294 July 08, 2010, 03:53:25 AM Redemption's of pieceworks is unacceptable. If they could not get their own stuff done in time, they should have delayed the release of the set. People would have preferred that. I had no ides that set had 11 redemptions. I got one box and was lucky to get one of the ones that was actually inserted in to the set.
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : Fizzingwizbee63 July 08, 2010, 07:52:11 PM To be honest,i don`t see why we need redemption cards in the first place! :-\Simply put the cards in the cases already signed and if they do have a problem with any actors/actresses,put the reserve cards in instead. My only gripe about redemptions is that i have to send cards from the UK insured and it s just more money wasted on shipping! >:() I totally agree, cards should be signed by the actors in time for printing. It`s risky enough getting cases sent unharmed or stolen but to return redemption cards back and then have them sent again is a bit strange and time consuming!Kay from Artbox is a wonderful person :-*and she has helped me with any queries i have had in the past! They sign a contract and most likely get paid at that time, so why not sign, when they get paid? I also have to say that Kay at Artbox is a true ANGEL 0:). She is always helpful and kind, in spite of being barraged with complaints about the length of time the redemptions can sometimes take, she always takes the time to answer all requests. Her job would be so much easier if she didn't have to field the amount of compaints she gets on a regular basis. More than just Moody, which we may never see, there was Rita Skeeter, and He Who Must not be Named as well. Also the redemptions put everyone both here in the U.S. and International, at the mercy of their Postal Services to safely receive their signed cards once redeemed. Not that anyone has had trouble with Postal Service  : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : Bryanjs14 July 08, 2010, 09:11:08 PM breakdowns and numbers would be greatly appreciated. I am a little more angry that the cases were staggered in shipping, and my person I am buying from on the East coast doesn't even have his yet, while almost everyone else does
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : Bagshott July 08, 2010, 09:13:24 PM Do you think they'll reach the UK by the end of July? :o=
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : Scifi Cards July 09, 2010, 03:50:25 AM There IS a "movie deadline" as you put it. Geez, lighten up a bit. Artbox has never worried about sets too close together before, so that arguement is just silly. As for the "Don't like it, don't buy it" line, unfortuantely Artbox does not tell you if or how many redemptions there will be at the time you order your product, so how can I make an informed decision? And while I have no insight into how Artbox does it, I'm betting the auto cards are printed in advance of all the others. It's quite possible they might have been printed with the last set even. But I imagine they printed them first and then print the redemptions if needed when they print the main set. Ed : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : ukpatriotsfan July 09, 2010, 03:52:35 AM @rns91294 I know what a redemption card is and why they use them! :o
They could always release the cases a couple of months later! when they do have the cards back :P : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : kbmum July 09, 2010, 05:48:00 AM I've been away on vacation, but now that I'm home, it's time to jump in on the conversation. ;)
Just looked at the auctions. They could have used a better picture for the Cedric card.....you can barely see him!. Artbox doesn't have a lot of choice in the matter. Warner Bros. determines which images are used. For MM2, there was a Petunia costume card with a picture of Aunt Marge on the front. If you look at the picture, you can see Petunia waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay in the background. At first, we all thought Artbox made a mistake, that it was a costume for Marge. I asked Kay and she said that picture was the only one that WB would approve for the Petunia swatch. They could always release the cases a couple of months later! when they do have the cards back :P There was no deadline, like a movie release. So why not wait and release it when you have them in hand? The thing is, Artbox is damned either way. People complain about redemptions and they complain if a release is delayed by even a week. It's true that this particular release could have been delayed a month or two without impacting the Deathly Hallows 1 release (expected in November). But, it's been many months since Artbox released a card set and I'm sure they had financial reeasons for shipping it by the end of the fiscal year. To be honest,i don`t see why we need redemption cards in the first place! :-\Simply put the cards in the cases already signed and if they do have a problem with any actors/actresses,put the reserve cards in instead. What reserve cards? Do you mean the ComicCon exclusive cards Artbox is planning to sell at SDCC later this month or the cards held aside from each release that are used as replacements for damaged cards? I know I wouldn't be too happy if I pulled a damaged card the first week of release and Artbox had no replacements available. : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : rns91294 July 09, 2010, 06:20:46 PM I would love for them to include the SDCC cards Cindy! You are also right, no matter how Artbox (or any card manufacturer) does it, someone will always be unhappy. I do remember that Aunt Petunia card and asked Kay about it. I guess now that Robert Pattinson is a big star ::) there is not much imaging they can use of him.
@rns91294 I know what a redemption card is and why they use them! :o They could always release the cases a couple of months later! when they do have the cards back :P I had a feeling you knew what they were. lol. breakdowns and numbers would be greatly appreciated. I am a little more angry that the cases were staggered in shipping, and my person I am buying from on the East coast doesn't even have his yet, while almost everyone else does Not sure about this Bryan. As Artbox is in CA, if they ship all at the same time, dealers in CA will get them the next day while it takes UPS 5 days to get to the East Coast. That would be why the East Coast got them last (not including other countries). I think the East Coast dealers got their shipment yesterday though, so yours should be on their way. : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : erevine July 09, 2010, 09:08:05 PM I noticed that there were a few cards being sold on eBay from a west coast seller, it appears that a few of the cards sold and either the seller ended a couple of his auctions or ebay stopped the sale. It makes it difficult for east coast sellers to receive and list there items, to be competitive, if they are receiving them 5 days later. It is an advantage to be able to be the first to list items as the first cards from any release seem to bring a higher price. Artbox perhaps should not let west coast seller list there items until all seller and distributors have received there supplies or as was mentioned earlier in this thread stamp a don't sell before a certain date on the boxes.
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : LikORish-Spider July 09, 2010, 09:33:08 PM Received the following email:
We are receiving numerous complaints that some products are already listed for selling. The Release Date is Monday, July 12th. Please make sure that your customers are fully aware of the date and if they are already listed, they must take it down. Thank you for your utmost cooperation, and please feel free to contact us for any questions. Artbox Entertainment : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : Bryanjs14 July 09, 2010, 10:00:18 PM That is my point, they should stagger the shipping, so the east coast gets theirs the same day as the west coast. Topps and Upper Deck do it.
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : rns91294 July 09, 2010, 11:42:58 PM I thought they did this for one of their past releases. Either way, they need to be more clear with their release date because no one is supposed to sell these cards until July 12th. What is going to happen because one person lists early is that distributors will not be allowed to ship their boxes until the release date, or Artbox won't start shipping until that date. One person can ruin it for all...so they really do need to be more clear.
Oh, and that seller's auctions ended last night. The same seller now has MORE cards listed that end in 2 days. I wish eBay would end their auctions....I tried to report it with the reason, but no reasons matched and there was not a space to add your own comment.....Artbox might stop drop shipping to customers because of this. : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : kbmum July 10, 2010, 06:36:04 AM Another redemption has turned up. It's a dual auto for Kingsley and Tonks.
As for the eBay seller who's jumped the gun, he or she will probably discover that the distributor will no longer sell to him/her. eBay will not remove the auctions, nor should it. It's up to Artbox and the distributors to handle the situation. Artbox needs to better communicate with distributors and others the exact release date and what "release date" actually means. Telling people the release date is July 12 does not clearly communicate that no one is allowed to resell individual cards until that date. Artbox usually staggers shipping so that UK and East Coast orders go out first and West Coast orders go out last. Do we know for sure that didn't happen? It could be that Bryan's distributor experienced a shipping delay with UPS. : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : rns91294 July 10, 2010, 06:41:43 AM Pretty sure it didn't happen Cindy. Seems like a lot of people got them on the West Coast earlier this week, while East Coast just got theirs. I could be wrong though.
You are also right about the "release date". I always thought that was the date the item was set to come out and ship. For example, a video game or a movie has a release date, and you most likely will not be able to find it until that actual date comes along. For Artbox, they set a date, but if you happen to get it earlier than that date, some might figure they were able to get it out earlier and be done with it. They really do need to let people know that this means you can not sell these cards until that actual date, even if you do get them sooner. : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : rns91294 July 10, 2010, 07:01:20 AM Absolutely amazing... Ed Just looking at this again. I think it is funny how Artbox referred to everyone by their character name for the costumes list....except Robert Pattinson/Cedric Diggory. Too funny. : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : kbmum July 10, 2010, 08:21:52 AM I don't know how, but I missed Ed's post. Well, that certainly makes things easier! :D
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : richbarb94 July 10, 2010, 08:34:27 AM for any one who is interested, 8 of the autographs are redemptions. the only autographs in the cases are lupin, quirrell and tom (the barkeep from PoA).
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : Scifi Cards July 10, 2010, 08:55:11 AM for any one who is interested, 8 of the autographs are redemptions. the only autographs in the cases are lupin, quirrell and tom (the barkeep from PoA). But don't you dare complain about it. >:D 27% are in the boxes, and that's good enough. ::) Sorry, couldn't resist. :-X Ed : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : kbmum July 10, 2010, 09:05:27 AM With eight of 11 autos being redemptions, then yes, people have a right to complain. By the way, I never said that people shouldn't complain, only that they'd complain about redemptions and complain if the release were delayed to allow more time to insert autos in packs.
I still can't believe that the people at Artbox are happy about redemptions. It's a pain for collectors and a lot of work and money for Artbox to mail out the cards. : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : rns91294 July 10, 2010, 09:59:20 AM 8 of the 11? That is ridiculous. Unacceptable in my opinion. >:()
Oh, and I can also tell you that Alecto's costume and the Slytherin Quidditch costume are both "material used to create". : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : browninga5m July 10, 2010, 02:52:44 PM While I dont like the redemptions I love to bust the boxes so I like them to release the product as soon as possible. It usually does not take long to get them back IMO. Got an email today my case has been shipped and will arrive the 14th.. Some get theres a week early and I get mine 2 days late. >:D
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : jfer21 July 11, 2010, 08:09:50 AM Dumbledore's costume is also material used to create.
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : rns91294 July 11, 2010, 08:43:10 AM So is Narcissa Malfoy's :-\ AND Tom Riddle's. AND Shacklebolts. AND Bellatrix! >:()
BUT, Cedric's and Fred's are material WORN by. : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : adamxxx July 12, 2010, 01:41:03 AM they really have some funny numbers so far . Almost 2200 props produced when there should be only 1200 in cases. . I know they always over produce for giveaways and damage but to maked almost 100% extra wow.
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : kbmum July 12, 2010, 03:42:41 AM It makes me wonder if they originally planned to produce more cases, but cut the run back to 300 cases.
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : rns91294 July 13, 2010, 11:45:27 PM With the amount of 54 base sets you can make from each box, they could have taken some of those out and included more of the clear cards, imo.
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : kbmum July 14, 2010, 02:14:46 AM Maybe, but the clear cards seem to be a separate chase set. Is the general consensus that each box contains one box topper, 5 foils, and 12 clear cards?
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : rns91294 July 14, 2010, 02:21:57 AM Without actually counting my cards, I would say that is about right. However, unless I am counting wrong, it looks like I got 47 clear cards from my 4 boxes, which is 11.75 per box....and only 14 foils cards in the 5 boxes, which is 3.5 per box. I am hearing from others that there were 4 of the foils per box, not five. So, it looks like I was 1 clear card short and 2 foils short of what I should really have.
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : jfer21 July 14, 2010, 04:26:10 AM In my 3 boxes, I had 12 clear cards each. I had only 4 foils in each box.
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : rns91294 July 15, 2010, 06:50:11 PM Been looking at the breaks for this set. John (LikORish-Spider) had an interesting 9 box break. 5 props and only 4 autos....9 costumes. Seems to me that the unopened box may only have a costume card in it, as he didn't seem to open a box with just the one inserts, which they all appear to have. But what luck to get 5 props instead of the 4!
I am also noticing that the box containing an ultra rare auto seems to also contain a low numbered costume. The single insert box usually has a high numbered costume. I never understood why that single insert box could hot have a nice lower numbered card in it. Also, I am noticing that in a case, it seems that not many full sets of the clear cards are coming out of them, making them much more rare than I expected. Any other thoughts? : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : rns91294 July 15, 2010, 09:21:31 PM Also the clear cards seem to actually be two different sets. One set of nine black and red drawings and one set of nine blue monochromatic movie posters. Good observation, and I think I have to absolutely agree with you on this one! : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : kbmum July 15, 2010, 10:23:32 PM Can anyone post scans of the complete sets of both clear cards? How are they numbered?
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : rns91294 July 16, 2010, 04:29:14 AM I don't have scans, but they are numbers 55 through 72.
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : Bitsy July 16, 2010, 06:25:31 AM I love the clear cards! I wish they would do more of those. They are really cool. :D
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : rns91294 July 16, 2010, 06:38:24 PM My husband put a clear card and 2 foils (all of Ron) aside to give to my niece....which is why my count was wrong. We did get 4 foils and 12 clear cards per box. lol.
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : kbmum July 17, 2010, 08:32:11 AM Thanks! :) It's strange that Artbox numbered these cards to fall in line with a 72-card base set. I've seen other card companies do the same thing, though.
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : rns91294 July 18, 2010, 05:47:22 PM Yeah, I wish they weren't numbered to fall in line with a 72 card base set.
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : Bogleg July 20, 2010, 07:11:13 PM Still waiting for two cases from Tom. Are there many others here in the UK still stalking a postman?
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : Bagshott July 20, 2010, 07:57:13 PM My case arrived on the 16th, not from Tom. If sent on the 12th must be a record for speed for USPS.
Delivery times seem totally random, it's a crazy world. Cards are great, well worth getting. Hope your cases arrive soon and you get some good pulls! : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : browninga5m July 21, 2010, 12:00:28 AM I have a redemption question: Can I fill them all out and mail them all together? Do you use Delivery confirmation on yours?? Thanks
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : Bagshott July 21, 2010, 01:30:29 AM Yes and yes. I store up to about 10 to send together and send them Airsure.
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : kbmum July 21, 2010, 02:00:19 AM I have a redemption question: Can I fill them all out and mail them all together? Do you use Delivery confirmation on yours?? Thanks You can send all of the redemptions together, but depending on the value of the cards, I'd ship them Priority with delivery confirmation instead of First Class. Artbox generally ships cards back via First Class, so if you want Priority with DC, you can get a prepaid envelope from your post office and send that with your cards. You should also send them with sleeves and top loaders, as the people at Artbox will not put the autos in any protective case unless you provide it. : Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : Bagshott July 21, 2010, 02:02:16 PM At least they'll have cards to put in goodie bags at the SDCC! ;D
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : rns91294 July 22, 2010, 12:46:02 AM I am sure some of these will be in the goodie bags...but I bet they hold most for replacements right now since the set is new. I bet you they provide some of them to certain people as well. I remember when Mike Simon worked there, and I met him at a card show, he mentioned to us that the actors get sets too. I don't know if they provide auto cards, costumes or props, but I think they might give them out to others that don't have to buy a case or box at all.
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : Logan August 10, 2010, 08:08:24 AM Does anyone know if Artbox has the Emma Watson autographs in yet? It's the only one of the autographs I haven't seen redeemed yet. I sent the redemption in to Artbox about 2 weeks ago and I was just wondering how long of a wait I might have coming.
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : rns91294 August 15, 2010, 05:43:58 PM From what I understand, all autos but the dual were in. Of course, that was a while ago, so even that one might be in now.
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : browninga5m August 21, 2010, 12:56:34 PM I sent in Neville Dobby and Emma. I received the first 2 and got a note that said they would ship the Emma separate when they receive it from the actor!!
: Re: Harry Potter Heroes and Villains Set : rns91294 August 23, 2010, 07:02:23 AM Well, Emma has signed for many other sets, so I don't think anyone needs to worry about it coming in.
