Does anyone know how many Emma Watson redemption cards were made?  About how rare are one of these cards?  Please let me know.

Darn, from the thread title, I thought I could send in a card and they would send me Emma Watson.

She's old enough for me now, and probably quite wealthy after starring as a voice actor in The Tale of Despereaux.  8)

It's looking like the Emma auto from HBP is about as rare as her auto from OOTP, somewhere in the range of 70-100, about half the number she signed for each of POA and POAU. That assumes that people who report their pulls are typical of the whole distribution, but the combined full-case reports are pretty close to the numbers you'd expect for each of the props, costumes, and film cards, so I think the projected auto numbers aren't terribly out of kilter.

Jeff, you think her auto from this set and OOTP is more rare than the original PoA set?

Most definitely in numbers produced... but 'rarity' is a relative thing. It is at this very moment in time much harder to find a POA of POAU Emma Watson than it is a HBP one (or at least the redemption card for those of you who are a little picky ;))

You could argue that the POAU auto was more "rare" because autographs were only 1 per 5 boxes for that release.

But yes, I'd call the HBP and OOTP autos are more rare than original POA at the time of the release. Emma signed more for POA and it had the shortest print run.  On a "numbers of boxes to pull one"  basis, here's what I estimate:

POA .. 1 per 33 boxes
POAU .. 1 per 168 boxes
OOTP .. 1 per 94 boxes
3D-2 .. 1 per 120 boxes
HBP .. 1 per 89 boxes

Of course POA was first and sold out immediately, while POAU was somewhat "diluted." I wouldn't even try to guess what a sealed box of the original POA would sell for today !!!

Last one I saw was going for $150

Regardless, I am happy to say that I have one from the original PoA set. After all, those are pretty hard to find now. Although, I think my favorite picture of her on any of the autos is from POAU.

I believe that POA had 500 cases.  POAU was much higher.  I think Jeff had an estimate, but I can't find it at the moment.

It was at least a whopping 2250 cases for POAU, maybe as many as 2500.  But autographs were only about 2 per case.

(The average from breakdowns was about 1 auto per 4.5 boxes. Remember, collation wasn't great for POAU because Artbox had to break in several more factories in order to meet that huge print run. "The series of dud boxes.")

Chris broke down 33 cases, and he didn't pull any Watsons or Radcliffes in that whole truckload (just one triple and one Grint). Because of the strange collation and clumping and duds across the full run, I'm less confident in predicting totals from 6% of the print run. Though it should be safe to conclude that Warwick Davis signed more than anybody else and that the single-Radcliffe and Triple were less than 50 each.

Hi all! Does anyone know if Artbox send your redemptions via Royal Mail or Parcelforce in the UK? It`s been so long since i redeemed any cards from them.I am waiting for 6 cards back inc the Emma Watson auto which was posted by Artbox on the 18 October :) and hope to get them in the next week or two latest! :o= I believe they sent my cards via First class international before which is a 4-6 week delivery time and we have post strikes starting anytime.Just another point,what is Artbox`s position if your cards ever get lost?I did`nt think USPS 1st class international insure packages sent this way? :o

The sender can insure a First Class parcel with something called Registered Mail (I just did this with a package I sent to France).  I don't know if Artbox will do this, since there's a hefty fee involved.  Generally, if anyone wants Artbox to send back cards with insurance and/or tracking, you have to arrange payment for them.  This will probably worry you, but when people have had lost packages, they usually had to fight with Artbox and be VERY persistent before the company replaced the lost cards.

Thanks for the info.I have the duo card also which i need to send back to them for redemption so do i put a note in with the cards asking for insured postage or do i need to contact them prior to sending them in?Also,can i declare the value wanted for the cards(due to customs charges)i may pay?

You need to contact Kay before mailing the items.  I believe she'll want payment to be sent with the package.  I'm not sure if she takes IRCs or some other form of payment.

The problem with declaring a lower value on the customs form is that if the package is lost or damaged, the amount claimed is all you'll be entitled to receive (and you'll have to prove that the items are worth the declared value).

Hi! I take it that you can contact Kay at Artbox`s email? ???Does Kay deal with all emails at Artbox? :)I am aware that whatever value you declare an insured package is the only amount you would receive but i don`t rally like paying custom taxes for private collector cards and so i would value the cards at no more than £100 or so just to keep down potential customs charges >:()

Yep, Kay will see the e-mail sent to customerservice@artboxent.com.  I think if you choose a subject line that mentions paying to ship redemption cards overseas, she'll probably respond (I say that because many people will tell you she doesn't always reply).  Good luck!

Hmm, I'm not sure what the official line is on redemptions etc, but as you already paid the tax on the card when it came in the country the first time it seems rather unfair/unpleasant to then be charged when the actual card is delivered!!! All most tricksy!

Does anyone know if Royal Mail or Parcelforce deal with deliveries in the UK for Artbox redemptions?I think they was sent 1st class international which is usually 4-6 weeks and Artbox won`t give me any details of the package!

It's my understanding that unless you pay for Priority, Express, or Registered Mail, the cards are shipped First Class.  If so, there's no way to track the package. :-\  You are going to have to be persistent with Artbox.  They do not like sending out replacements, but if you make a big enough pest of yourself (without being rude), they may give in and send you more.  Maybe those Shackers who has experienced this problem can send you a PM and let you know how they resolved it.

I know Artbox has to watch out for the bottom line, but it isn't right to pack releases with redemptions and then mail what they know to be high-value autos with an unsecure method of shipment.  Flat-rate envelopes cost $12.95 for Priority Mail International (insurance can't be added) and $27.95 for Express Mail International (which includes up to $100.00 insurance).  Registered Mail to the UK costs $11.50 on top First Class International postage.

I'm having a problem getting a card from the UK.  It was shipped with International Signed For on October 22 and arrived in New York on October 24.  The tracking shows it's still sitting in NY this morning.  I called USPS and was told that I can't place a tracer on the parcel; only the sender can.  The sender, however, has to wait 35 days from the date of mailing before Royal Mail will start an investigation.  I'm not angry with the seller, but I am angry that I paid a lot of money to ship a card and USPS will not do anything to locate it. >:()

The problem is Artbox does`nt give you the option to pay extra.You have to chase them up on it.Do they accept paypal payments for priority or registered mail?I always insure my mail to them so cash is another option and i think it was you who told me to talk to Kay about it but as of yet no response from her. :( There are postal strikes in the UK at the moment which may be a reason for the delayed cards from Artbox but i would hate to lose the Emma Watson auto as they seem to be very rare >:( The last time i received any redemption cards was for the OOTP Katheryn Hunter auto,but i can`t remember if it was delivered by Royal Mail or Parcelforce so i need someone in the UK to let me know so that i can at least go to my local delivery depot.I don`t even know what colour tha package was or was it sent via letter form?I will get on to Artbox again and thanks for the info!

Cindy, that's odd, so it's arrived in NY but you've not heard anything since? I have found the international signed for service to be good (on the whole!) - do you have an update on that?

Hi Roz! They sent my 6 redemption cards on the 19 september.The problem is,that address is now laying empty at the moment as my parents moved out about 4 weeks ago and i go there every few days to see if a while you were out card had been left or the letter pushed through the door!The house has already had a buyer but waiting for the contracts to go through which gives me another 2-3 week window!Kay from Artbox got back to me the other day about the missing cards and she also told me that the dual auto cards haven`t come  back yet! I`ve just sent her another email saying that i`ll give it another 7-10 days and then i need to contact Royal Mail and try and find out where it has gone.I think the package may be at a parcel force depot which is one of the reasons i wanted to know how it was sent.Kay did say that it was either sent with a white window envelope, but sometimes it'll be a padded yellow envelope measuring 6" x 4".I can replace the other 5 cards but not the Emma Watson card as they seem to be very scarce!I`m hoping Artbox would at least send me a spare of that card :o=

I really hope you get them because I don't think Artbox will send out a replacement for something lost in the mail.

With that said, I shipped something from the US to France and it took just about 2 months to arrive. I think the mail has just been REALLY slow for some reason.

Well we have had a few postal strikes over here but that card being so rare is making me jumpy not being in my possession! :o=

Kay Funato from Artbox sent me an email saying to send extra payments for a insured delivery from the USA,but did`nt tell me how much i need to pay?Anyone out there know how much to send?There are so many USPS services out there that my head is spinning! ::)

I, too, have noticed even small packages taking FOREVER to get to overseas destinations. It's truly unnerving, especially considering that patience is NOT my thing. lol ::)

Patience isn`t your thing?Incompetence isn`t mine! ;)Royal mail over the past 2 years is  truly awful!Better sending stuff outwards than in :)I have had 3 items fail to turn up(including an apple ipod)which was luckily insured!They even left a while you were out card for it and when i went to pick it up,they couldn`t find it in the delivery office!(Never found it but received compensation)I have complained to their customer services about 8 times as i keep getting other peoples mail through my letter box at my home address!Sorry to bring this thing up again on a cards forum but the the thing is,not only do they put the wrong numbered items in my letter box but also the wrong block! >:() The name on some of the items is mr or miss okbafaza or something simular! :o and it is usually mixed in with my own mail?Still they did send me a Christmas Card :o(and that`s the truth)Tounge and Cheek from Royal Mail? >:D 

My parcel finally showed up. :)  There were no markings or writing from the post office on it, but it did look as though it had been opened and resealed.

It's a bit difficult to give prices for the various USPS international mail options, because it depends on the weight of the package.  These prices are based on a weight of 6 ounces shipped to the UK:

First Class Mail International parcel (no insurance or tracking available) $5.64
Priority Mail International flat-rate envelope or small box (no insurance or tracking available) $12.95
Priority Mail International parcel, not a flat-rate box (has tracking and there's insurance/indemnity of $67.17 built into the price and extra insurance can be added -- $500 worth of insurance costs $7.60 and you can add up to $650 of insurance) $26.50 without additional insurance
Express Mail International flat-rate envelope or any box ($100 insurance and tracking, additional insurance available for a fee) $27.95
Global Express Guaranteed envelopes ($100 insurance and tracking, additional insurance available for a fee) $41.95

For ukpatriotsfan, I think Express Mail might be the way to go.  It's only insured up to $100, but it has tracking and I've never heard of anyone who's had a problem with receiving an Express Mail package.

You should include a letter with the cards, then follow it up with an e-mail to Kay so she knows that the package has been sent.  I also suggest that you ship the redemptions in sleeves and top loaders, which Kay will use to return the autos to you.  That will offer some protection in case the envelope is bent during shipment.

Artbox are in my good books again although the package was damaged with a Royal Mail clear damage bag wrapped aroung the envelope!The plastic toploader case was broken as it appeared to have been crushed ot the bomb squad had a go at it ;D

Nope! They were fine.The Toploader case is beyond repair though :o
