Gryffindor Forever -- Thanks for being the first to post your case breakdown!  I have a couple of questions for you.  Did you receive only four autos instead of five?  Did you receive two Aunt Petunia costumes?  I ask the second question because both of those cards from different boxes have the same number.

Also, I sent an e-mail to Tom and found out that most of the autos are in. :)  It appears that only two of them are still out, one of them being the Harry/Sirius auto.

Hi Roz, Yes i only received 4 autos and i made a mistake box 4403 c-5  648/700 i already corrected it thank you for noticing. i got 2 c-5s and 2 c-4s  I thought i was suppose to get 5 autos? Karen

Hey Karen. Although Artbox states that there will be 5 autos in a case, those odds are just something to go by and not a guarantee. Some people have received boxes in the past that didn't have any inserts in them at all.  Did you double check though to make sure an auto was not stuck to another card?

The case should have five autos.  You can contact Artbox about it, but they probably will not send you another auto.  Sara is right that you should check all of your base cards.  It's easy for one card to get stuck to the back of another and has been reported here more than once.

A Ci2 5-case incentive error card has popped up.  It has the correct front and swatches, but the back states the card is a Ci1 sleeping bag/hospital wing sheets.  It is also numbered as if it were a Ci2.

But this is a true error card since they aren't all like that. I know baseball error codes were worth more money because they weren't common. The others ones we have seen for this set are errors, but on every single card.

As far as we know, this is a one-off mistake.  It would be more of an error if the card had a Ci1 front and back, but with Harry/Voldemort swatches.

Putting the sleeping bag material in a Hermione costume card is a BIG mistake, as is putting a picture of Aunt Marge on an Aunt Petunia swatch.  There really isn't an excuse for these errors.  It's caused by not paying attention to the details and not having enough oversight at the production facility.

I am pleased to see some nice colourful cards in this set.  I do like the backgrounds on the MM cards but they can be a bit 'wishy washy'.  Props and costumes have always been my favourites so this set is right up my street.

It seems like an age since we had a new set.  With the HBP coming I can see EBay profits going through the roof  :rofl:

Sharon, those are Jackie's cards. I got two boxes and plan to open them tonight or tomorrow. I agree they can be a bit wishy washy, but I too like them. Props are also my favorite and this one has a lot of them. Although a lot are dup materials, I actually still don't have some of them, so I am happy about that. Can't wait to hear what you pull!

Yeah I had that happen to me once when opening OOTP where the auto redemption was stuck to a base card.  I never would've known except that I was separating and organizing base sets.  Possibly easy to miss with new cards.

I agree - very nice cards  :)  makes me wish I bought some  ;) but I'll look into the ones I want on eBay.  It's also good to know that most of the autos are in sans the Radcliffe/Oldman and a few others?

For those of you who got cases, how do the case cards look? I have seen them on  :ebay:, but am curious to know if they look any good in person.

I pulled the Harry/Sirius Auto redemption from my case, and was wondering if anyone could advise me as to the safest way to send the redemption to Artbox in order to insure it's return.

I have sent many redemptions to Artbox in the past and have never experienced any problems, but because I have never had a card of this value, I would like to know how to handle sending in this one.

For instance, I can place tracking and or insurance on the card to make sure it gets there, but how can I get Artbox to return the card
tracked/insured the same way?

I sent an Email to the customer service dept, but have not received a reply.

First of all, congrats on your first Harry auto pull! I remember that feeling I had with my first. You are very lucky to have Gary Oldman's auto as well...one I don't have.

As for the redemption, this one can be tricky. The last Harry auto I pulled was also a redemption. I paid for it to be insured and got delivery confirmation on it. In order to have it returned the same way, I had to put a self addressed envelope with it, with enough stamps to cover the cost of insurance and delivery confirmation...and then ask Artbox to make sure their mail carrier scans the insurance sticker for the return delivery. I don't know if you read the books, but do you remember where Ron's parents send a letter to the Dursley's via "Muggle mail"? The envelope was covered in stamps hoping they paid enough for postage. Well, I felt like I was mailing that same exact letter. The amount of stamps on that thing was ridiculous, and that was even after going to the post office to buy the highest domination stamps they carried. It was not easy, but worth it.

Also, I read allender's post about all those sets missing the same card. I can not believe this happened again. It happened with the last release as well. I had a ton of duplicates of the same couple cards and was always missing one certain number.

At least I've completed my set of single Ruperts and an OOTP Daniel from the aftermarket. No double autographs this time either, and I guess I'm in the "other two Rares" cluster. If Tower got a case, he'll probably join me, but I don't want to cast a jinx spell!

Second scan is costumes (C1 Ginny's robe, C3 Ron's jacket, C4+C4 two parts of Vernon's sweater, C7 Harry's Quidditch robe + Oliver's sweater, C8 Hermione's sweater and Harry's shirt, C10 Fleur's vest and gown, and C11 Ron's and Ginny's robes. Nobody's scan seems to be doing justice to the Fleur swatches; they are a very light green. Ginny's robe is padded, Ron's jacket is thick, and Oliver's sweater is pretty bulky too.

Well, if you are going to pull two Vernon's, at least they were two different colors. Question for you...is the Fluer costume worn by or material used to create?

My C7 needs to go back to Artbox for a replacement. The two bottom corners are dinged pretty good and it has surface scratches. I hate having to send something back to them, but I have a redemption to send in as well.

All of the costume swatches I pulled are "worn by" the stated actor. (Now, that doesn't exactly say they were worn during filming, or in the scene pictured on the card, but it's close enough!)

I posted the card this morning insured, with a self addressed insured envelope(lots of stamps!!) enclosed for return delivery.
The Post man wasn't very happy with me, as it took a little extra time to sort out, but it was definitely worth it!!

Wow John, that is interesting! I guess I can understand it. You know, I was in touch with Kay today about a damaged card and redemption I am sending in. I didn't even think to ask about that card, but they can only do what the WB allows. I am glad she was able to justify the reasoning behind it and we now know it is not really an "error" after all. Kay is really nice.

Actually, no. I only got two boxes. One had an Apple Brook auto and a C7, the other box had the C3 (Ron). I notice that cases that had the C7 and Apple Brook auto in a box also had a single Ron costume in a box as well and many of the same other boxes. I can only assume this is what LORS has too sinc ehe also had the combos I noticed as a trend in other case breaks.

Yep got mine monday, opened a case and then decided to put 10 boxes on ebay after I got billed for Wolverine earlier than planned. It is a really nice set will post scans, numbers on the back of the cards are tricky my dads old eyes have had fun spotting the different numbers when making up the sets.

bought costume and prop sets and have quite a few spares.

You need to upload your images to a photo hosting site, because the Shack can't host photos.  I use Photobucket, but there are others.  After you set up a Photobucket account and upload your photos, copy an image's IMG tagline, paste it into your post, and the picture will appear.  If you have any problems, let me know and I can help you. :)

And photobucket let you store loads of photos. I use it too ;)

I loaded some images into a Photobucket account this morning, with a bit of difficulty
(ie: had some trouble getting the pictures from my scans to a folder/pictures, eventually they ended up in different places on my computer)Rats!! The computer HATES Me!!

When I insert the IMG tagline to this response, all I get is the link, not the photo  >:() HELP!!

Bagshott:  You need to copy and paste the IMG tag, not the "a href" tag.

This is sort of off topic, but does anyone else think the prices this set's cards have been selling for is rather low???

I saw the Double Costume Card  Harry & Hermione listed on  :ebay: for $29.99 or best offer, and many other decent cards with fairly low prices.

Even more shocking to me is the price the Dual Auto Card for Dan Radcliffe and Gary Oldman has been selling for, which is about $300.00.

Dan Radcliffe's Autos from other sets usually bring more than that.

Is it just me ???

The set is selling for less as it was not a greatly anticipated set. People were not happy that they decided to do a MM2 already, when only one more movie has come out since MM1. Artbox tends to do a lot of filler sets and many people don't like them as much as the movie releases. Not to mention, a lot of the costumes and props are ones we have seen in previous sets. I like them all, and look at the lower prices as a chance to get cards I want and especially the ones I missed from past sets (like Fawkes feather). It gives me a "second chance". Of course, the cards with material we have seen in the past before may sell for less (like the double you mentioned), but this set also has some we have never seen, like the Dursley's costumes and Ginny's robe, as well as the proclamations prop and compass. I also seemed to notice that Dan's auto's sell for more when they are of just him (unless we are talking the triple auto from PoAU). And, I am not sure it is great for the worth of his autograph when he signs for so many different sets. I remember reading in NSU magazine after he signed for the first time for PoAU that the card would be one of the single most valuable Harry Potter items 25 years from now. I don't know if that holds true now that he has signed for so many other sets.

For as much as the boxes/cases cost, one can only hope that Artbox will be producing some extra special cards for their future sets. :rofl:
 

Yeah I've noticed the same thing in terms of MM2 cards fetching less $$ in general.  The other thing that I find interesting is that more dealers are willing to negotiate on their prices.  Now the economy has something to do with this too (more people with less disposable income) but it's also the lower demand (and less enthusiasm) for MM2.

I've also noticed the same thing with regard to Radcliffe autos.  Seems like Emma Watson autos (and there aren't lots available for sale) are generally a bit higher now (she's signed a lot less).  With that said, the older/rarer Radcliffe autos (if you can find any) can still command a premium.  Again, my read on this is that it's a number of different factors that are affecting the price for Radcliffes.  just my opinion though.

I think with so many sets already produced, and many more to come, it's time for Artbox to get creative and give collectors something to really look forward to in a new release. ::)

I hope they have some new spectacular autos lined up for the next set.

I have to agree that I'm surprised how fast dealers are taking best offers.  I've used the best offer to buy all but one of the cards I've purchased.

I've purchased a couple MM2 cards outside of eBay so they can save on their eBay/Paypal fees.  I only do this with dealers that I've dealt with before (every little bit helps).  Yeah it seems to be more common to see BIN w/ 'Best Offer' options.

Yes, it is nice. But full sets of the puzzle cards Pz1 through Pz9 have been selling on eBay for $3 to $10, so it should be worth maybe $1 (if you're selling).

For me, it is the design of the set.  I was interested in the Radcliffe/Oldman dual and the Malfoy dual, but I wish they were in color.

But then again, I have been put off by the photos/artwork on quite a few of the autos.  I was interested in Tom Felton's auto for OOTPU until I saw a scan of it. 

WB has total control over the images in the sets.  There are cards, base and insert, that have left me scratching my head over why a particular (unflattering) picture was used.  Look at the Aunt Petunia costume in this set.  It makes no sense that WB would only allow the image of Aunt Marge floating away and a tiny Aunt Petunia in the background.  But, Artbox was stuck with it.

On the other hand, I don't care much for colors (or lack thereof) in this set.  Yes, it's nice that Artbox is trying something different, but to me, the cards look very bland. :-\  I still have only one, a proclamations double prop, because I picked it up for a cheap BIN.  I just haven't felt like splurging on any of the other cards.

Maybe that's my problem too.  I usually want to buy at least all the new costume card for each set.  I really fell  in love with the cards Tom emailed me.  Unfortunately, I waited too long to decide to buy some of them.  So far I've been able to find a Ginny bathrobe card to match the one he had.  I have yet to find another Zonker's bag double card like Tom's and Tower's.  Of course I don't think I would have gone $200.00 dollars for the card.  My desposable income is rather limited right now, so I think I'm just wanting to wait until the Half-blood Prince sets come out.  I do agree with you.  The prices seem to be much lower than they are for the movie sets, and I'm not wild about the cards either.  I really am not that fond of the original Memorable Moments sets either.  I like the color cards better.

I tend to agree. With my income being rather limited too (as i'm sure it is for a lot of people at the moment) i am passing this set and waiting for HBP so i can treat myself to a case.
I'm not the greatest fan of both Memorable Moments sets. That being said, i prefer the cream and gold of the first set to the black, white and greys of this one. With the auto cards following suit and a lot of the swatches being duller colours too, it was a bit too much for me.
I much prefer the normal colour cards.
I must admit though that seeing everyones scans and box/case breakdowns has been making me incredibly jealous and giving me itchy opening fingers..LOL!..so i've just bought a 3d 2nd series sealed box just to calm myself down ;D

I got mine there for $45.60, so that should be close to the bottom end of the range.

There has been a couple sold on ebay in the last 30 days. One went for £18.19 (around $29) and the other went for £24.99 (around $40).

Prices for many of the cards have been pretty inconsistent.  If you're patient, you can usually get some of the decent cards for a song.  I just picked up a variant dual P8 Yule Ball prop for $15.50.  I've seen low prices on other cards, too.

I just received a C6 Dudley costume.  I was curious about the design, so I went searching for a picture of Dudley's shirt.  It turns out that the swatches weren't cut from the shirt, but from his shorts.

I can see what you mean about Gary Oldman's signature. It did make me laugh looking at those cards in order as you can really see that it seems to get worse on each one..LOL!.

I'm going to be opening a box on Saturday for NSU's Open That Box Day.  I'm a bit nervous that I'll get only one insert in the box (and it'll be a high-numbered one, too), but I bought it for a good price and thought I'd take a chance.  I'll post the break this weekend.

The thickness is not the same. There are some parts which are slightly thicker than the others.

This is primarily for new comers, all of the "olde-hands" probably
already know this.

Many collectors may not be aware that there were two cards from
this series with errors, or for that matter, that there was even one error.
Artbox redeemed one corrected card for each error card returned.
Strangely enough, the same heavy purple fabric was used on both errors.

So what is that material from then? When I asked Kay at the card show I was at, she had told me that it was indeed from the sleeping bag and that they had two different sleeping bag materials. So is the second one really an error card, or just a card with two different types of fabric? Did Artbox confirm that one was really an error? She did admit to the Hermione dress one to me, but I am surprised that the sleeping bag one ended up being an error too. See, I am not a newbie and I didn't know this!!!!  Oh well, my swatch is the one with the stars on it, so no worries here regardless ;)

The sleeping bag material is not like either of the MM2 Ci1 or C9, but is closer to the right hand swatch of Ci1. The Ci1 sheet (?)color is gray and extremely fine compared to HBPu and WOHP3D-2nd Ed

I used to have a POAu sleeping bag prop relic that had white fabric instead of the normal purple. This was ages ago though.

I never mentioned the Ci1 to Kay. There are other errors also that we know of that Artbox has
not mentioned. For example the Beauxbaton Costumes with Karkaroff's white swatch
instead of the usual light blue or dark blue swatch and vise versa:

As far as I know, there were no variants for the POAU sleeping bag.  Both Anna and I were pretty diligent looking for one, too.

I never saw a variant either. If I had you can bet I'd have a scan.

I just know that when I asked Kay about the same material being used in the sleeping bag prop and the Hermione dress swatch, she had told me it was an error in the Hermione dress card and that it was indeed the sleeping bag material. I think if it was an error with the sleeping bag one as well, she would have said.  I could be wrong, but then we would want to know where that material really came from. LOL

Me neither, but from what I understand, there were a LOT less of the one with stars on it than the burgundy colored one. Maybe it is possible they used part of the sleeping bag and maybe some sort of sheets???

Whilst arranging my MM2 cards today I found something unusual. A duplicate of card Ci2. I checked my other card wondering why this newly found one was not in with the rest of them. Evidently I had set it asside for some reason. I checked it with the one in my master set to see if it might be a variant. What do you think? I am showing the front and reverse of the card for your observations.

Is it that it states Prisoner of Azkaban on the reverse instead of Order of the Phoenix?

It also says sleeping bags and hospital sheets instead of their costumes?

You got it. It has a Ci2 number (xxx-200), Ci1 cards go to xxx-380. My theory is that they sorted the card by the front and put it in
the Ci2 pile for stamping the serial number. I don't imagine that there is a Ci2 numbered 104.
The back is from Ci1, if they had sorted it by the back it may have gone into the Ci1 pile for stamping.
It pays to double check the fronts against the backs, heh?
