Has anyone been watching True Blood on HBO?  I don't have that channel, but I friend of mine has downloaded the episodes for me.  4 episodes have been aired so far and I'm hooked.

The theme song is cool too.  The show takes place in Louisiana.  Bad Things by Jace Everett :  http://free.napster.com/player/tracks/15899845 (http://free.napster.com/player/tracks/15899845)

The season is over till this summer and the DVD comes out in May.

I love this show, I'll sit down and watch it on HBO on Demand every once in a while even thought I've seen every episode when it aired on Sundays.

I got to meet the author of the books the show is based on, she was here in Houston on the 6th and she talked a little about the show. She said the new season starts filming this month and while some things in the show never appeared in the books the creator of the series, Alan Ball, put them in for a very good reason will find out about in later seasons. The Murder by the Book bookstore here in Houston taped it and will be putting it up on her website if anybodies interested in it  :)

I don't get HBO (mainly b/c I don't want to pay extra, haha) but I've heard great things about the series and books.  The Season 1 DVD is releasing (in US) tomorrow, May 19.  I plan to grab one and get caught up  ;)

We will be getting this one very shortly on cable over here so I shall look forwards to the 1st episode  ;D

I think season 2 is even better than season 1.  I haven't had a chance to start reading the books yet (mainly because I've been reading another vampire series about the Black Dagger Brotherhood by J.R. Ward), but I'm looking forward to the True Blood books.

I agree, Cindy, I like the second season a lot better than the first. Though I have re-watched the first season on DVD several times and it never gets old :)

If you wait till October you'll be able to buy all the books and short stories in one book.

We've only had two episodes of season 1 so far and although I'm hooked, I wasn't prepared to see Vinnie's (from "Home and Away" ) bum  :o

You're going to see a lot more than one actor's bum as you continue to watch the series.  HBO has a new series called Hung that looks to be ... promising. >:D

Thanks, Mike!  I didn't know about the compilation book. :)

A lot of fans are having Season Finale parties and I was planning on having one so I'm trying to get some.

I've read all the books but I didn't read nothing but till I finished all of them. The next one comes out in May of next year, I believe.

I was hooked on this show from the very first episode! It's just perfect.

Season 2 is better than season 1, but, I have to admit, I'm sick of Maryann.

Just as an aside: Must suck (pun intended) to be Sookie and have Vampire Bill and Vampire Eric vying for her attention.  ;) Those are some handsome vampires.  0:)

So I'm not the only one who doesn't care for Maryann? Good! That part of the story is starting to bore me.

And in my opinion all the guys on this show are gorgeous! Not just the vampires, but the humans too.  ;)

Oh, no, you are definitely NOT the only one who doesn't care for Maryann.  Many of the fan forums talk about how they will mute the tv during her scenes, fast forward through those parts on DVR/Tivo, etc. That story has just gone on too long...plus, I'm tired of Tara being under her spell.

So right! Jason, Sam, etc. are terribly good looking! The show is fabulous for the eyes.  >:D

No one likes Maryann? Really? I love her. I find her and her psycho-ness to be incredibly interesting. She's been one of my favorite characters from the moment I read about her characters (though, she is totally different in the book, I don't even think her name is Maryann if I'm not mistaking). She turned out to be complete different then what I thought she'd be, again, reading the books I would never thought her TV counterpart would be so horrific but I thoroughly enjoy her in the show.

(I hope this post doesn't contain any spoilers, I remove it if is does, sorry in advance :-[)

I think everyone liked her at first...so did I--she was interesting, intriguing, and deliciously malicious. But as the season progressed, it has just been a little too much of the zombie-eyed chaos.  Plus, I think people feel like she has really drained that spunky character out of Tara-- a lot of people miss her.

I admit I haven't read the books, so maybe her character is more enjoyable in writing than it is right now.  :-\

I'd love to know what Sookie did to Maryann in that scene when she touched her face...what was that? Looks like there is more to Sookie than meets the eye...

I like what has going on with Tara. She made me laugh and I love her in the first season but I like how they are making her see that there is a lot of stuff out there that isn't so nice or susceptive to her sometime mean comments. I think some of the stuff she said was really rude and I like how they have toned it down a bit.

I don't know but I'm incredibly giddy to find out  When I saw that I was like "Wait! Do it again!" LOL

The official True Blood Twitter just posted a desktop background of Maryann and her memorable like "Nobody. Needed. Towels!" and it got me thinking. Is there a bigger reason to why Maryann wanted Tara and Eggs to get together? I don't remember seeing anything about something like that, did anyone else?
