Whats different about this card??

It appears to be an error card.  The swatch looks like the doily from Umbridge's office.

Is it a good card or bad one to have   ::)  ???

I guess that depends whether you enjoy owning error cards. :) I'd suggest trying to match it against one of the doily cards, just to make sure that's what it is.  It's hard to tell from a small, slightly blurry scan.

I just thought that error cards were very rare??  :-\

Error cards can be rare.  There were some rare ones with GOFU, with swatches mixed up between the Karkaroff Yule Ball costume and the Beauxbaton costume.  Non-rare examples would be the 3D Series 2 O.W.L. and Lockhart books.  The swatches were switched on all of the cards, so while all of the cards are error cards, that aren't rare and really aren't worth that much.  Do you own the first card shown in the thread?

Yep, thats my card at the top. I wasnt sure if it was different intentionally or if in fact it was an error card, thus the question  :D .
So t seems it is an error card and the other cards are ther normal variety. It doesnt matter to me because i love it as i think it`ll look nice along side the other more normal ones. Just wanted to pick your brains as to what its meant to be.
So if that prop doily card has the wrong front on, does that mean that there is a clothing costume swatch card with the wrong front on too?

Even if someone at the manufacturing facility did it intentionally, it's still an error card.  There's no way for us to know.  I can't recall seeing another one like it, but there could be others.


Not necessarily.  Maybe the doily piece was accidentally mixed in with the costume pieces, or perhaps whoever helped assemble the card got confused by the two Umbridge images on the front of the cards.  Does the back of the card say it's an Umbridge costume or doily from her office?

Yes, see what you mean, it could be any kind of mistake couldnt it. They might have spare fronts/backs so maybe there are a few more or maybe none.
The back of it is the 160 doily back. I`ve had the card a month of so and only noticed it recently, i didnt even notice it when i bought it, lol. And theyre my favourite card aswell  :-[ , shows what i know  :rofl:

Didn't a couple of mixed up Karkaroff/Beauxbaton costume cards go for CRAZY prices on ebay way back when?

Did they, wow,  :o . Very good, lol. This is nice to know, i think though my card is still staying with me i`ve got big plans on how to display  my cards  :D

They did sell for top dollar.  A Beauxbatons error card sold for $202.50 in April.  The first Karkaroff error sold for $179.03 in 2005 and the second (that we know of) sold for $441.01 in 2006.  All of the auctions are in the price guide.

I think the attraction is that everybody wanted see Karkaroff in one of those short skirts.  ;)
