HOWEVER! There is a catch. I don't have any photo editing software on my new Mac yet (next pay cheque etc. etc. (after buying the curtains, wardrobes, chest of drawers etc ;)) so is there anyone who'd volunteer to make sure that any provided pictures were level/straight and trimmed neatly I could get started.

Cindy has already collated a nice list (hats off to Cindy!)

It just so happens that I do have a few cards That I could scan.
Roz, Do you have a DPI preference?

Roz, if you haven't already tried it, check out Graphic Converter (http://www.lemkesoft.com/). You might find that you don't need anything else. It's downloadable try-it-for-a-good-time-before-deciding shareware, so there's no huge risk. I've found it one of the best values ever.
