: JKR NEW Tale....
: elsie3112 May 29, 2008, 06:08:59 PM
According to the national press today - JKR has penned an 800 word prequel and donated it to be auctioned for charity. It goes under the hammer on June 10th at Waterstones in Piccadilly along with work from 12 other authors.

This is despite her saying that she was 'unlikely' to ever write it???

I wonder what this will tell us?? Any ideas??

Another paper Ive just read - throws a little more light onto things.

The story it appears doesnt mention Harry at all, and is thought to involve an incident involving Harry's dad and his godfather.

JK has written at the end of the tale that it is "From the Prequel I am not working on - but that was fun!"

Could be an interesting read and start or fuel some further rumours about what JKR is doing??

Well not much will happen in 800 words. Unlike her other story it will be avaible to the public along with the other authors work http://www.waterstones.com/waterstonesweb/displayProductDetails.do?sku=6285395 along with 3 stories from readers.

Oh, well damn - put me on the list of I really want one!  And since they have it listed as only 2 per customer will make it harder to get.  But at least they DO ship internationally so I can get one in the US...

Tia, I really think it will be made quite widely available (to make the most for the Charity) & you may not even need to import it...

Sorry for the silly question...........

Is the 800 "story" going to be contained in the postcards? I thought that 800 words would be a short book etc, along with the rest of the authors; but 5 quid is cheap!!

I'm in UK for a week, so I'll be able to pick one or 5 up for the family etc :)

800 words isn't that much she must have written quite small though. My story was just under 300 words although I did have a bit of room left.

Hi Bitsy :)

I think anyone can pre order from Waterstones. The only problem for international shoppers is you have two delivery options from this shop...surface, which can take a month ::) or courior, which is usually very expensive >:(
I will try to find out if they will be available in their brick and mortar stores aswell.....if so I may be able to get a couple of extra and send one on to you ;)
