: Question about Hermione's Cauldron Prop Card : Gallifrey March 25, 2008, 06:13:40 AM I purchased Ci2 - Hermione's Cauldron. The cauldron does not appear to fill the entire window, on the right side there is the edge to the cauldron and an empty spot, it is sort of like the picture in the price guide. Is this okay, or would this card be considered defective or less than desirable?
Thanks! : Re: Question about Hermione's Cauldron Prop Card : sfmuggle March 25, 2008, 09:25:42 AM I'm certainly no expert but sounds to me like you got an edge piece. I've gotten 1-2 props like that where the prop doesn't fill the entire window and it was always a piece of the outer edge of the prop. imho probably not a defect. Desirability? that's going to depend on the audience. Personally I love all of my props but that's just me.
: Re: Question about Hermione's Cauldron Prop Card : Bitsy March 26, 2008, 02:49:20 AM It sounds like a great swatch to me. :) Do you have a scan you can share with us? Personally, I don't think there is such a thing as a "defective" prop swatch...they are all interesting, fun, and probably the most unique--think you have a unique one! ;) :D
: Re: Question about Hermione's Cauldron Prop Card : Roz March 26, 2008, 04:08:46 AM I don't recall seeing a 'full' cauldron swatch - in some way or another they all seem to show 'edges'.
: Re: Question about Hermione's Cauldron Prop Card : Gallifrey March 27, 2008, 05:53:59 AM Thanks everyone for your replies!
I only have three prop cards and was worried the cauldron not filling the entire area, thanks for putting me at ease about and now I will be able to fully enjoy it. :D I wish I had a scanner -- I can see that I am going to need to buy one. ;D : Re: Question about Hermione's Cauldron Prop Card : terryweasley March 27, 2008, 10:20:33 PM I have two COS Hermione's Cauldron's cards that fill about 99% of the space. I bought those because I prefer the ones that fill the whole are as much as possible.

If you check the Christmas Cracker cards, alot of them also have spaces. The prop is what looks like part of a Christmas cracker crown. There are several variations on that card too. I have two of those cards with the house seals as the prop, but I've seen different ones. : Re: Question about Hermione's Cauldron Prop Card : Gallifrey March 28, 2008, 07:30:03 AM Terryweasley, I really like the speckles on your second cauldron! :D
The edge on mine is not quite straight up and down, there is a little angle to it so it is a tad more empty than yours. I see one on eBay right now and it is has more of an empty edge than mine. I'm a little confused by this, "The majority of the cards I've seen on Ebay! had the fuller frame, so your card is among the rarer of this one." What do you mean by "fuller frame"? Edit to add: I see a second one on eBay; I'm on dial up and it takes awhile for the page to load fully. The second has edges on both the right and left side. : Re: Question about Hermione's Cauldron Prop Card : ferdinand_the_yak March 28, 2008, 09:26:45 AM I've seen quite a few cards (like mine) that have a strip down the middle with empty space on either side. I bought my card from one of my usual sellers without seeing it first, but I'm not too fussed about the swatch though :)
