Is this card rare?  I have been looking and looking and looking for it on eBay and have never seen it.  The price guide says there are 300 and I wouldn't think that it would be rare because I see film cards come up all the time that have only 300 made or lower, but I have never seen this card.  I have found tons of CFC1 Triwizard Tournament Cup from Goblet Update, and only 50 more cards were made of this.

Also, where did the cells come from that they used for the Goblet of Fire set?  Is it possible to get cells used in this scene?  Is it possible to get cells of Barty Crouch Jr from other scenes? 

Anybody want to sell this card to me? 

Welcome to the Shack, Gallifrey! :D  The card isn't any more rare than the other GOF filmcards, but the set was released two years ago.  At this point, it will be more difficult to find some of the cards. :-\

The teaser trailer was used for the GOF filmcards.  Unfortunately, Barty Jr. doesn't appear in this trailer, so he won't be in any of the GOF filmcards.  However, he does appear (for a few seconds) in the theatrical trailer, which was used for the GOFU cards.  Both trailers can be seen here:

You may be able to find GOFU filmcards with cells of Barty Jr.  I can tell you, though, that it won't be easy.  Many sellers don't specify the images in the cells, so be prepared to send a lot of emails through eBay.  For the past three years, I've been trying to put together a POAU filmcard set with cells that match the picture or scene on the front of the cards.  Artbox produced 900 of each filmcard for that set, yet I still need one more card.

Thanks for the link!  I will check it out at work, at home I have dial up and loading the forum and eBay taxes my computer.  Does the link also have the trailers that were used for the other movie's film card sets?  I'd love to know what images were used for each film card set and what combo is even possible.

I followed your link over to  your POAU filmcard set and you have a great collection!  Is there even an image that would go with Harry in Hogwart's courtyard?

That is what I'm trying to do with my film cards, and yes it is going very slow.  I have sent out tons of e-mails on eBay, it is so hard to see what the image is.  I have bought a total of two cards and I think I might have already gotten a cell from another scene, lol.  It is 35mm Card Snape and Harry meet with the Marauders Map from POAU and the cell is an image of Snape.  I have no idea if it is the hallway scene or not but I decided to buy it.   That card is in the mail, maybe when it gets here I can figure out what it is.

My first film card I have in person and I love it.  It is Harry in the Chamber from COS.  The cell is over the shoulder of Riddle looking down at a CU of Harry as Riddle is pushing Harry's hair with a wand to show Harry's scar. 

Is there a section of the forum for discussing Harry Potter cards in general?  Like do we know if the actors that played Snape and Hagrid have been asked to sign?  Once the films are complete do we have any idea of how many other sets are planned?  Has Warner Bros ever approved sketch cards for any of their other properties?  Things like that.  :P

I had a lot of GOF at one time (I'm not quite sure how I ended up with so much apart from a card box opening addiction) but Cindy is right, it's now been a long time since the set came out and even I am low on duplicate GOF filmcards.

There was slightly more interest in the GOF set than the GOFU set (there always is, as the movie's just come out and everyone's interested) so this may explain why you are having more luck finding GOFU cards, but why not put up a "wants" list in Diagon Alley and maybe some collectors spares (rather than those on ebay) will be flushed out of the woodwork?


We tend to discuss anything in situ... i.e. in the set we are most interested in at the time. I suppose a general discussion forum might be useful these days and some of these older boards placed less prominently.

Or else you could just place your threads like this in the leaky cauldron as they are general HP questions on this card mad board :)

If use the link to for Yahoo Movies, you can type "Harry Potter" in the search engine and it'll pull up the other movies.  Click on one and then look at the column on the left.  You can click on "Trailers and Clips" to see them. :)  Generally, Artbox uses the teaser or theatrical trailer for the filmcards, but not the same trailer for both the first set and the update.  I think there was one set that used the international trailer, but I can't remember which one.


Thanks!  The only cells that match the courtyard filmcard are the exact courtyard cells.  I've seen the cells twice in other cards.


The Leaky Cauldron, Mugglenet, and Veritaserum sites all have image galleries with screencaps from the trailers and movies.  When you receive the Snape filmcard, you should be able to look at the screencaps and match what you have.  The card you bought could have cells of Snape in the dark hallway, Snape walking into the DADA classroom, or Boggart Snape in Lupin's classroom.


I don't recall seeing cells of Riddle in the COS cards, so you might have something rare! :)


Like Roz said, we usually talk about auto/costume/prop possibilities for whatever set is up next, in that particular section of the forum.  We've had lots of discussions about Snape and Hagrid autos. :)  My guess is that since we haven't seen either auto yet, it probably means that Alan Rickman and Robbie Coltrane aren't interested in signing.  I've read that Coltrane will not sign for any set, because he doesn't like the idea of people paying for his autograph.

Once the movies are done and the Deathly Hallows update set has been released, I'd bet my last dollar that Artbox will have many more sets planned.  They won't reveal that info -- they still haven't released any info for OOTPU and that's coming out in mid-December. ::)  We've already seen Memorable Moments and World of Harry Potter 3D.  I don't think any of us will be surprised to see MM2 and World 2 after the last movie.  Inkworks produces the Buffy the Vampire Slayer sets and Rittenhouse produces the Star Trek sets.  Both franchises stopped producing TV shows a while ago, yet the card companies keep finding items for new sets.  It'll be the same way with Artbox and Harry Potter.

There was talk of an HP sketch set last spring.  A lot of the usual sketch card artists were asked to submit samples, but the project doesn't seem to be going anywhere.  Some of the artists posted their samples on the Scoundrel website and one artist, Chris Henderson, has some of his samples in his eBay store.

Thank you both for replying.  I got home too late to put up a wants list at Diagon Alley but I love the idea and will do it -- thanks for the suggestion!  I can't wait for my Snape card to arrive and figure out which scene the cell is from.   :D

Kbumum I hope you find a cell of the courtyard scene.  Several times I have found the cell that I want on the wrong card.  Figuring out which scene is on the cell and then matching it to the card is a lot of work!

Not to mention the fact that they might have rushed MM and 3D out to make sure they covered only four of seven films, so that the udpate would have almost half of the flicks.

Plus, the Literary Set only went through Book 5, and the Posters Set only went through Movie 4.  And we haven't even seen a significant introduction of Potter-related artwork. We could use a Famous Wizards set à lá Chocolate Frog cards, but I think a lot of the profits for the recent Artbox sets has been from the huge quest for autos/costumes/props.

The key question might be how long the franchise will stay this strong now that Book 7 is out. A huge amount of the following was based on people immersed in what was going to happen next. (Postings in Diagon Alley and even on MuggleNet have dropped off after the obligatory "I told you so" comments!) Possibly a portion of the followers will have moved on to a different "specialty" and won't be as avid for MM2 and World2 after the Movie 7 Update.

It's not totally certain that the Potter universe will have the same "legs" to cross into future literary generations as Lord of the Rings did. After all, it wasn't until after the exquisite first movie that the number of Readers sky-rocketed.

Hi, sorry for the late reply.  The second film card arrived and I believe it is Snape in the DADA classroom.  I have a few more cards and I'm looking forward to seeing them.  None of them are the film cells -- those are really hard to match up, lol!
