: Rita Notebook Card
: blackcat20 September 16, 2007, 10:40:38 AM
Ive got a Rita Notebook Card (GOFu, P9, 103/120) which im considering selling (the new ipod nanos are looking good, and mine is on the way out)....

I was just curious to see what kind of interest is around for this card, and people opinions of listing on ebay, including start price...the last one sold for $Au210...

cheers  :)

Oooh - the new Nanos are great, aren't they? I saw one in the flesh last week and they are tiny! My iPod (mini) is pretty much gone as well.

Good luck with your auction if you decide to go ahead!

Does your mini have battery issues? mine never seems to be fully charged any more.... I think mines a bit older than yours too... Im eyeing off the red nano, but you have to buy them online...the other annoying thing is that they cost us $40 more than in the US...

The Nano's look great, I have a first gen white Nano which does me well and I couldn't go running without!!

But I do spend a LOT Of time on trains. And could really enjoy a video ipod that was so small, apparently the screen has the same res as the full size ipod classic!! So it's a no brainer.

Mark fancies the ipod touch, apart from the screen's not supposed to be as good as the iPhone and the memory is 16gb of Flash Memory (we think it really should be lots of gigs of HDD memory!).

The new shuffles have nicer colours too :)

I noticed that; the shuffles come in purple! but the nano colours are a bit bland...hence my desire for the red. I agree though, its great to have them on the train...its quite boring otherwise.

Great minds think alike Kate! I'm going to get the red one as well. Its a bummer that you have to get them online, but at least the Apple site offers free delivery for them. I'm looking to get it in a couple of weeks time (after I move, which is in early October).

I've had my mini since June 2005 (b'day pressie!). My problem with my mini is that the battery doesn't last long (4 hours, max) and it takes ages to charge. Sometimes the battery just goes flat, even if it was fully charged a short time earlier.

Roz - I've heard that one of the issues with the iTouch is that the screen can get rather dirty with fingerprints. Also, the 8GB is $150AU more than the 8GB Nano...

Not just free delivery, but free engraving too! Ill have to come up with something funky...

I know in the US they have an exchange program when your ipod starts to die, for a fee, but I dont know if they do it here... the apple shop near me gives you a $75 exchange when you buy a new one...

Really? I should check that out - do you know whether you can buy the red one through an Apple store as well?

: Re: Rita Notebook Card

The store I went into didnt seem to have them; but maybe worth checking out a few. If i get time Ill go into the apple store in the city during the week... because its a "Product: Red" item for charity....

Yeah I'm sure you can get the red ones at the Apple Stores. I saw the 'red' products in the biggest apple store in the world last weekend ;)

Mark has a nice 2nd gen ipod nano for running in red. It's rather nice :)

Too true Jo, sticky fingerprints are likely to be an annoying problem, so I'd go with a stylus for it, although that wouldn't be all that easy... I also think it would be pretty annoying to have a pda substitute which was difficult to add in engagements / appointments on the move with... infuriating in fact.

But I do love the idea :)

Well, I'll have a look in my Apple store (conveniently located on campus ;)). Otherwise, I'll have to order it online.

Oh, the iTouch looks awesome Roz! But a bit too big for me - I really just need something for music (and a few episodes of Fry and Laurie to make me laugh out loud stupidly on public transport )

You don't get much more convenient than that ;) It's a good job you don't live on Campus eh? Or you'd never have any money :P

Ha! Quite right.

I'm just about to start watching Heros I've missed it on BBC2 and Mark's imported the DVDs for me (bless him) so if I could convert & ipod those that would be great... grrr Apple :(

Roz, are you running on a mac? I have a program that will import DVD straight to iPod Video format. No need for conversion.

In keeping with the complete derailment of this thread...

I discovered Melb Uni now has apple on campus too, went in for a chat, and they expect the red nano to be instore by the end of the month  ;D the only diff between store and online is the free engraving online...

Hahaha... I was just going to apologise for taking your thread off topic!

Regarding the Notebook prop, to get an idea of what it would fetch, I'd have a look at what the most recent ones sold for - not sure if you have done so already, but search on ebay.com and ebay.co.uk as they sometimes have auctions that don't turn up on Ebay Aus.

I would set the opening price to something you would be happy to sell it for rather than starting at $0.01 as well

A private sale of the card is pending  :)

Mine is exactly the same...or WAS until I went away and didnt use it for a week and now it is fine all of a sudden..but doubt that will last long, it will most likely go back to its old ways of dying after an hour or two of play time!! I have had mine since Aug 2005 I think.  ::)
