: How to deal with Ebay Seller problem : chico August 14, 2004, 06:11:05 AM What would you do ---- if you won a number of items on eBay, then seller says they were shipped, then they appear to get lost in post, then seller says that he/she will re-send because they were insured. The seller provides a tracking number form Royal Mail which only indicates that package was sent overseas (I live In Canada, seller in UK) and now approx. a month has passed and nothing yet has been received. I do not really want to demand a refund because I want the items which I won. ??????????
: Re:How to deal with Ebay Seller problem : beckham1 August 14, 2004, 07:00:55 AM Not good, I will tell you no seller in there right mind would resend because they would have to put in a claim to get reimbursed from the post office and that would take some time.
A major word of warning ebay and paypal have strict policies on the amount of time that can go by from the end of auction to get any money back at all! Not to be to personal, but the item(s) you purchased and the total auction cost for all the items and how did you pay for them are needed to be know for me to give you better advice. I was recently ripped of $375 on an auction and I will probably only be able to get $175 back from ebay (net loss to me $200) so the more info the better I can tell you! : Re:How to deal with Ebay Seller problem : chico August 14, 2004, 09:38:06 AM Everything was paid for via PayPal, all the items were trading cards and the total value was >£250 not including S&H and insurance.
: Re:How to deal with Ebay Seller problem : Roz August 14, 2004, 12:34:40 PM Excuse me, I always resend as a seller! Then I sort the claim afterwards, thre's no point in keeping the customers waiting.
A lot of the ways to get items tracked in the UK do only show you they have left the country - you have to be careful there, contact the seller and tell her it honestly hasn't come! : Re:How to deal with Ebay Seller problem : chico August 14, 2004, 10:31:59 PM I have contacted seller many times. As of now I email once every week. I have emailed Royal Mail with all the details but no response as of yet. (sent yesterday) The problem is that I have had items take 5 weeks to arrive from Florida (twice) and 6 weeks from the UK (once). The postage/postmark indicated that it took that long. There was no indication that the package was opened for inspection by customs so the reason for the delays is unknown. With this sort of delay possible, it makes it very hard to fault the seller. When the feedback deadline expires, if feedback has alraedy been left, can responses to that feedback, be left.
: Re:How to deal with Ebay Seller problem : Roz August 15, 2004, 04:51:58 AM In all fairness we once opened packages full of Christmas presents from the States in February :-\ so I would agree that delays are more than possible... with no particular reason either... except it was a jolly good way of extending Christmas!
: Re:How to deal with Ebay Seller problem : savage727 August 18, 2004, 12:55:07 AM Chico - I had almost the exact same thing you describe happen to me recently. The Seller in England was preparing to resend items I purchased two months prior when the items showed up back at the Seller's home - reason unknown. Royal Mail was of no help at all during this entire process. The Seller resent the items and I got them in a week! Go figure!
In my case the Seller was very helpful and willing to work with me. :) : Re:How to deal with Ebay Seller problem : chico August 18, 2004, 08:10:48 AM I received a response from the Royal Mail, confirming that it was sent overseas....duh! That was something that I already knew, as I had entered the waybill number in their tracking webpage. Very helpful.....
There was also an indication if I needed more help to contact them by phone or email or by snailmail. ahhhh yes, long distance charges in exchange for more very useful information..... I think that I will try emailing again by replying to the email that I received. : Re:How to deal with Ebay Seller problem : Roz August 18, 2004, 01:17:29 PM Chico, please tell me you are chico_z on ebay as I was going to bid on some gold promos - but then I saw a chico_z was winning and assumed it was you - so I didn't bid!
If it is you - then you got as good deal on your golds as I did on my reds - so show it off :) : Re:How to deal with Ebay Seller problem : chico August 18, 2004, 09:01:05 PM The one and the same. "chico" was already in use on ebay so I went for chico_z. I thought that you were looking for Silver #5
: Re:How to deal with Ebay Seller problem : Roz August 18, 2004, 09:03:46 PM :) I am out for the coloured promos now ;)
Enjoy the golds :) : Re:How to deal with Ebay Seller problem : chico August 19, 2004, 02:43:30 AM Which colour(s) are you looking for? If I see any of the ones I already have and you need......I could let you know.
: Re:How to deal with Ebay Seller problem : Roz August 19, 2004, 09:00:38 PM Gah! I just lot a set of green and now I look it was to you!
Well, I have the red original set and the silver original set and I have the cards inc original set! I have the san diego full run in holofoil... but other than that I have none! I am most interested in a green and blue set from either or the red update set! Thanks - I will try harder not to tread on your toes in auctions but you seem to be buying every set out there! :) : Re:How to deal with Ebay Seller problem : chico August 20, 2004, 11:27:15 AM Actually I was most interested in everyting in the "factory set" auction except the green promo cards as I already won those (not yet physically in hand, in the mail) I have no idea as to the rarity of the update promo's. There is one seller who has a few of them but the starting bid seems high. Do you know if the rarity is about the same on the updates as the originals? The auction that I won for the green cost me more than the whole factory set auction....I lost an auction for a complete set of the 5-card promo's (all colours, 6 sets) it was over $600 US. ...and then I paid much less when I bid on 5 separate auctions??????????? on another note this ebay seller problem....I actually talked to a live human being at Canada Post and they found an indication that my package is/was in customs at one point but as to its whereabouts now??????? I filed a formal investigation request to try to find it....
: Re:How to deal with Ebay Seller problem : Roz August 20, 2004, 01:38:24 PM Argh!
I already have the factory set and was bidding for the green (and silver sort of) promos! :'( I have heard from Artbox that the colours were given out RANDOMLY at San Diego and I do get the impression that the coloured promos will be much more common this time... the blue and green from the last set are still the "Merrys" of this set. Yes, good news on the investigation thing... why on earth do cards get searched in customs.. they are the most harmess thing invented EVER : Re:How to deal with Ebay Seller problem : kbmum August 20, 2004, 05:30:59 PM why on earth do cards get searched in customs.. they are the most harmess thing invented EVER I don't think my bank account would agree with you! : Re:How to deal with Ebay Seller problem : ferdinand_the_yak August 20, 2004, 06:27:32 PM Good point! 8)
: Re:How to deal with Ebay Seller problem : Roz August 20, 2004, 06:33:03 PM :-[
sorry - I do stand corrected! : Re:How to deal with Ebay Seller problem : chico August 20, 2004, 11:10:35 PM You probably would believe the conversation with the Customs people although it only shows the extent of their ridiculousness...The customs person said that they could not trace the package without a "K24" number and that I would have to get that from Canada Post (whom I had already talked to) I went back to Canada Post and actually spoke to the same person as the first time (bonus)....She said that the K24 number is generated internally within Customs and the Post Office never has them unless an investigation is started... Just when you think the Post Office is the worst, Customs proves that theory wrong. (All fingers are crossed)
: Re:How to deal with Ebay Seller problem : chico October 02, 2004, 07:45:26 AM LATEST UPDATE
The mysterious parcel has re-surfaced..... Customs has sent it via the Post Office, back to the UK. I could get "no explanation" as to why, other than the brilliant comment, "Just wait till the sender gets it back and reads the explanation on the package and then you can find out why" duh The Post office should refrain from hiring rocket scientists......... Well I have now emailed the seller and am awaiting a response ..........(and that is the end of this edition of the "Ebay Shipment from HELL") : Re:How to deal with Ebay Seller problem : mcgonagall October 02, 2004, 10:11:39 AM I am search for silver promo number 5
and roz you stamps have been sent : Re:How to deal with Ebay Seller problem : robwaddle October 06, 2004, 05:56:38 PM Chico - I've only just seen this. First off, a lot of sellers do re-send. Thanx to problems with %^&%^$% Royal Mail, I'm currently waiting on a Simpsons Season 4 boxset which got "lost". I've had several refunds and re-sends over the years.
Secondly, Royal Mail, Parcelforce and HM Customs are the most useless bunch of numpties I know of. I get so many signed for packages that have been signed by the postie, you wouldn't believe :o I rang parcelforce to complain last week - I was sat on the pc in full view of the deliveryman last week. The so and so waved to me!! The label was gone, so I rang Parcelfarce. The nice lady I spoke to was less than interested ::) ::) As for HM Customs - I'm sure I've posted here before. Inconsistency is the key word here. Ole Prudence Brown should get down there and kick some butts - the treasury are losing a mint. BUT news reaches me that they did Wayne Rooneys' GF for several £K over the weekend. Seems they were waiting for her and a lot of New York shopping :D ;D There is some justice in the world!! http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk_news/story/0,3604,1320568,00.html Rob : Re:How to deal with Ebay Seller problem : Roz October 06, 2004, 06:05:24 PM Hmm... I wonder if I can make the whole of that into a link... lemme try

It was returned to the UK and seems to have vanished there (sitting on a shelf in the Royal Mail) I requested a refund from the seller (last night) and I am awaiting a response. Everything was insured and paid for.
: Re:How to deal with Ebay Seller problem : olly December 03, 2004, 10:58:09 PM If insured and Royal mail admit the loss the seller should provide an immediate refund. Well in an ideal world ;D
: Re:How to deal with Ebay Seller problem : chico December 03, 2004, 11:33:21 PM I just heard back yesterday (the 2nd), that the seller would be submitting a claim and would let me know. Patiently waiting.
: Re:How to deal with Ebay Seller problem : olly December 03, 2004, 11:45:26 PM You must have the patience of a saint ::)
: Re: How to deal with Ebay Seller problem : chico June 20, 2005, 09:48:23 AM I received an email from the seller on May 24th that he has now received the parcel back and will send it on to me that same week. Hmmmmmm
: Re: How to deal with Ebay Seller problem : Roz June 20, 2005, 04:25:15 PM Oh well better EXTREMELY late than never I suppose... it will be a real relief to finally get them huh?
:D : Re: How to deal with Ebay Seller problem : chico December 31, 2005, 04:20:25 AM Final Instalment: This problem was never resolved as the seller, Mr. Richard Wheat, does not respond to emails. I guess that I was just too nice and too trusting. Lesson learned.
