Has anyone else heard the rumor on why they didn't release Stargate Atlantis season 3 in September like they usually do for these sets.

I am of mixed feelings on this one. A couple of my nitpicks are that their will be fewer choices for auto's and costume cards for these two seasons, not to mention the Chase cards that I like. One of my biggest gripes is that if they don't have a season 5 then the final two sets will end up being together when we could have enjoyed them separately. Finally, if anyone has read my opinions on Amanda Tapping/Sam Carter's character on the show in the Do you Watch Stargate thread then they will know how the following makes me feel. I was looking forward to one more card set without having to deal with her on the cards or binder  :( That one is a personal preference for disliking the combining of the sets but their are some other reasons why as mentioned above.

On a more happier note, I am one card away from having my very first Master Set :) The set I am almost done with is Stargate Atlantis season 2 :)

I can confirm the rumor that the Season 3 set will be combined with the season 4 set.  I talked with Robert at Rittenhouse about it this last weekend at the NY/NJ Card Show.

I think it boils down to economics and also quality subject matter.  Robert expressed some concern that Season 3 had fewer quality guest stars and thus the autograph lineup would have been weaker.

Season 2 only sold moderately well, so I think this might be a good thing in the long run.  Fewer 'nobody' autographs and time for everyone to anticipate the set.

On a brighter note, expect Season 10 of SG-1 first quarter of 2008.

I understand that money has to be saved since the previous season cards only sold moderately. It is just a little sad for me because as I stated in the previous post I was looking forward to one more set without Amanda Tapping/Sam Carter in them.

As for the quality of guests in season 3, I will just have to disagree since we got some rather nice guests like the following:

10. Chuck Campbell (the new technician)
11. Brenda James (Katie Brown)
12. Lindsey Collins (Dr. Biro)

... and of course my dream signer David Hewlett (Rodney McKay) :) :) :)



I always look forward to new sets for either of these shows. ;) The season 10 set will be even more exciting considering it was the shows final season  ;D
